Only If You Know

Chapter 16

Chapter 16

Olivia's last week was fairly calm. Caleb has become more approachable. And she, too, was coming in

terms of having her best friends back in her life. It also relieved Drake that Olivia's life was finally

getting back on track.

Olivia was eating breakfast with the Knights when Caleb reached for her and asked for a favour. “Can I

tag along with you? My car is gone for servicing.”

Olivia was taken aback. She never imagined the day would come when Caleb would ask for her help.

“Um, sure.”

“You are not a bad driver,” Caleb said as they drove to school.

“Thank you.”

“So, if you don’t mind, may I ask you a question?” He asked her nervously.

“Yes.”

“Is something going on between you and Prof. Drake? It’s fine if you don’t want to tell me. I mean, even

if something is going on, I wouldn’t tell anyone about it.”

Olivia laughed as a result of Caleb’s words. It’s absurd to think she and Drake could ever be a couple.

“Nothing is going on between us. But I am not sure why you wouldn’t want to know if I ever had a

relationship with Drake. Don’t you want me to be gone from your life?”

“That is something I would never do. Yes, we may have started off on the wrong foot, but I am okay

with having you around. I am really sorry. I was wrong about you.”

“Apology accepted.” She gave him a friendly smile.

“But, that doesn’t mean we are best friends.” He told her.

Caleb simply wants to discover Olivia’s truth, but he does not want to give her hope that she could

have a relationship with him. Even if it’s just a friendly relationship, he still didn’t fully trust her.

“Wouldn’t even dream about it.” She sighed and rolled her eyes.

Olivia’s phone abruptly rang, interrupting their conversation.

“Do not answer the phone while driving. Stop the car or play it over the loudspeaker.” Caleb ordered.

Olivia rolled her eyes again but put it on the loudspeaker. If she had stopped the car, they would have

been late for school, so keeping it on the loudspeaker seemed like a better option.

“Where are you, Livy?” Drake asked.

“Driving to school.”

“Look, I have a feeling Jiggy has a problem.” Drake appeared tense to her.

“Drake, Caleb is with me, and you are on speakerphone.” Olivia immediately brought it up to him.

Caleb was still unaware of Drake’s truth, so she had to make sure Drake was aware that Caleb was

also listening to him.

“Olivia, I don’t give a damn. My relationship with Jiggy is at stake here, and you want me to be

concerned about my identity. And, besides, I don’t care if Caleb is aware of my individuality because I

trust that kid. Caleb, please don’t tell anyone about it.”

“Of course not, Prof. Drake,” Caleb assured him.

“Well, then, if you are okay with Caleb knowing everything, then you must know that you are an idiot.”

“Jiggy talked to you, didn’t he? Then please explain what is wrong. He isn’t even speaking to me. He’s

not acting like himself. I am not even sure what I did wrong.” Drake asked her in desperation.

“He did, in fact, call me yesterday. You know he thinks you are going to end your relationship with him.”

She stated this.

“Wait a minute, this is ridiculous. I am planning to propose to him.”

“Are you gay?” Caleb's words came out of nowhere.

“You are proposing to him?” Olivia asked happily.

“I can't believe you are gay,” Caleb exclaimed.

“Oh my gosh, you two are getting married.” Olivia bounced in her driving seat. This content © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.

“Yes, Caleb. I am gay.” Caleb was taken aback by this new revelation, as he had previously assumed

Drake and Olivia were having an affair.

“Do you think he will say yes?” Drake asked Olivia. His voice was filled with apprehension.

“Of course, he will. He loves you. I can't believe you guys will be getting married—my first gay wedding.

I am super excited. Please get married this year. I want to be a part of your wedding.”

“Yes, Olivia. I hope so. You are still set on leaving after graduation, aren't you?”

“Yes. Neither you nor Jiggy will be able to change my mind.” She told him confidently.

“You never know what might happen. So, I will see you at school. Just wait until my lecture is finished. I

would need a confidence boost. If you don't mind, Caleb, please wait with Livy. Now that you know the

truth, I'd like some male advice.”

“Certainly, sir.” Caleb was still taken aback by this revelation. The call came to an end with that.

“I still find it difficult to believe Prof. Drake is gay.” He stated this.

“Yes, he is. And he and Jiggy is the cutest and most adorable couple on the planet.” She burst out

laughing.

“What was Prof. Drake talking about when he said you were leaving after graduation?” Caleb asked in

confusion.

Well, I cannot stay here forever. First and foremost, I didn’t want to come here. But I am underage and

cannot live alone at the moment.” She explained.

“So, where are you going to go?” With curiosity, he inquired.

“Why, wouldn’t you want to have any chance of running into me?” She asked him a joking question.

“Oh no, am I...” Caleb was at a loss for words to explain his sudden curiosity.

“Relax. I am kidding. I haven’t given it much thought, but I will figure it out. Before I do anything else, I

need to make sure Drake and Jiggy are married. I want to attend their wedding.” With that, they

reached the school.

As Drake stated, they were both waiting after the literature class. Jenna bought the Principal into the

classroom right before Drake was about to ask them a question. Even Sia and Mason were tugging

along with them.

“You better tell me, Jenna, why did you drag me here.” The Principal asked her in a stern tone. They

were all surprised to see those two here. Sia and Mason were confused about why Jenna had asked

them to meet her after the literature class.

“May I help you, Sir?” Drake asked the Principal.

“Prof. Drake, you have been caught. I am aware that you are involved in an unethical relationship with

Olivia. I will tell my father about it. You will be arrested, and Olivia will be suspended or expelled from

school.” Jenna grinned.

“You don’t have the authority to accuse anyone here, Jenna.” She was told firmly by the Principal.

“I have evidence.” Jenna showed the price some photos of the two of them hugging and enjoying their

time together. Even Mason and Sia were taken aback when they saw the images.

When Caleb, Olivia, and Drake began to laugh, their confusion grew. Even the Principal had a sly smile

on his face as he looked at the photos.

“Why are you laughing, Sir?” Jenna asked him in confusion.

“Well, I am sorry to burst your bubble, Jenna. But you have got it all wrong.” Olivia laughed.

“You see, Jenna, Drake isn’t dating Olivia,” Caleb explained.

“Do you want me to tell her, or do you want to do it yourself, Drake? You have gotten yourself into a

pickle.” Rodricks, the Principal, informed him.

“I will do it. Jenna, I don’t swing in that direction. I am gay, and as I previously stated, I have known

Olivia for several years. She is not only my student but also a close friend of mine. And I am completely

devoted to my boyfriend.”

Jenna’s face had lost all color after Drake's confession. Mason and Sia's jaws dropped as well. They

hadn't expected anything like this.

“So, Jenna, you get one week detention for falsely accusing my teacher and student of an unethical

act.” Mr. Rodricks said as he walked away, Jenna close behind him.

“Does getting one of my students in detention makes me a bad teacher?” Drake wondered.

“No way. If it's Jenna, then definitely not,” Caleb said, laughing.

“Are you sure you are gay?” Sia inquired.

“Yes, Sia. I am sure,” Drake said with a smile.

“That means I had a crush on my gay teacher.” She admitted embarrassingly.

“And you were aware of this the entire time?” Mason asked Caleb.

“Caleb is not to blame. He found out this morning.” Olivia stood up for him.

Today had been a fantastic day, in a good way. Caleb had never seen Olivia so free before. She was

laughing and having a good time.

Perhaps he was mistaken in believing that he couldn't befriend her.
