Chapter 25 Clingy children
Brenda broke John out of his thoughts as she patted his shoulders.
“You were so lost in thought. What were you thinking about?” Brenda asked as John wrapped his arms around her.
“I was just thinking about life. How far all of us have come since Mathew, Thomas, and I graduated! Not to mention having five kids at home. It’s been a long journey and, thankfully, a very fulfilling one.” John explained succinctly.
Brenda hugged him, “Well, you have good friends. They are so welcoming. It’s like living in a joint family but of your choice. You get all the good parts and not many bad parts.”
John had to agree. “Well, you are more than welcome to join that family officially.”
Brenda punched him, which hurt for real, “Ouch!” John cried.
“Was that supposed to be a proposal? If that was, it was fucking lame.” Brenda punched him once more but managed to control her strength this time.
John gulped and kept quiet. He would get beaten if he confessed that he had yet to think about marriage.
Thankfully, his phone rang and saved him from trouble.
“What?” John asked Thomas over the phone.
“But why do you want me there?” He asked again with a frown.
“Thomas, I don’t want to go to a gynecologist with your wife. Are you crazy?” John exclaimed.
“How about we switch? I will take care of your daughter, and you go with your wife.” John proposed wondering why Thomas could not think of that.
“I think she already knows that they will move to another house. So, she is clingy. How about this? I will take care of Mathew’s kid, and Arabella can go with your wife.” John proposed.
“Are there any of the triplets who would leave you, Joe, or Arabella?”
“Fine, then let Joe go with her. I will take over his son.”
“Alright, I will be there. You have ruined my date. You owe me one. When I have a kid, you will babysit all the time.” John grumbled before hanging up.
Brenda wanted to laugh at his face. He kept muttering under his breath.
“Well, I have to go. You only have a 30-minute break. I guess I will just leave. Come to my place when you get off?” John told Brenda. He was sulking and muttering some things about Thomas under his breath.
“I can go with you. You had to wait longer earlier because I was finishing up my tasks for the day. We could leave together.” Brenda informed him with a wink.
“Really? That’s great. Let’s go. I will cook tonight.” He excitedly volunteered.
“No thanks! I will eat what Arielle makes.” Brenda snorted as she went inside the car.
John could only shake his head. Brenda never bothered to hide her partiality to Arielle’s cooking.
Funnily enough, neither Thomas nor Adrian liked her cooking. Something about having a different palate. It was a joke of their otherwise perfect marriage.NôvelDrama.Org is the owner.
As soon as she saw Brenda, Arielle’s little girl tried to jump from her father’s lap. That girl loved Brenda for some reason and would only want Arielle more than Brenda. Her three fathers were almost invisible to her in front of Brenda.
Thomas shook his head in defeat.
“Well, I guess I can accompany El now. Brenda, can you please take care of her until we come back? It should take us 2-3 hours.” Thomas asked.
“Sure thing. Go on ahead!” She said absentmindedly, already lost in the games she shared with the little muffin.
Thomas and Arielle left the house through the back door. The twins would start screaming whenever they saw their mother going anywhere.
They consulted a gynecologist on Arielle’s health. They wanted to conceive another child after half a year, give or take. It was best to get checkups done early, so they could take corrective measures if required.
Less than an hour later, the gynecologist confirmed that everything looked normal based on the scans, but they had to visit two days later for further confirmation from the test results from the lab.
Arielle heaved a sigh. It was tiring taking care of three kids at once. Thankfully, Adrian was very well behaved for his age.
Thomas drove her to a hotel instead of their home. Arielle was too lost in her thoughts to realize that. She only realized they had not gone home but someplace else when Thomas pinned her to the door.
