Chapter 37
By the end of negotiations, most things had worked out. Eric would stay trained as a top warrior and, if Cora accepted, would be his mate. I had taken a mate from Cole but gave Cora hers. I agreed to help protect the Royals at any time they called. I was to fight on their side through any battle. Vincent was not fond of this portion of the negotiation. The last part of the negotiation was the hardest. They still wanted Katie to be betrothed to Cash. Katie looked at us with wide eyes. I would not agree. I could sense Katie using her powers to calm me. "What if I return when I am 15 and get my wolf to begin training here at the palace?" Katie spoke up.
"I would agree with that. If Eric is here as your sponsor," I said with a sad voice. I knew there was a part of her that wanted to stay and it was a good idea. Eric being there would only make the King agree to his and Cora's union faster. "Me as well," the king said. "You will stay until your 18th birthday. If the book adds you to the royal list, you will mate with Cash."
"She will do no such thing," I said. The king pounded his fists on the table.
"What if I stay till I'm 18 and if I find my mate I get to choose. If I do not find my mate, I will marry your son." Katie said. I looked at her. When did she get so wise? "Agreed," the king said. Now we can take Katie home to Violet Moon pack.
"Oh and one more thing. I need an assistant and I was wondering if you would allow Millie to come with us? It would be up to her I would not want to force her." I said.
The king linked Millie and she agreed to return with us. We said good-byes to the family. Katie hugged Corey and Cole extra-long. Eric gave me a hug and whispered, "thank you." I smiled, joined Vincent, and we headed to the cars. "Today I lost a gamma but gained a Luna. I think I won the negotiations." I slapped him on the arm.
"When we get back, I would like a few days of peace before you introduce me and we have the formal ceremony." I asked.
"We can do that." Vincent said. "I already told my mother, but she will be OK with pushing the date a month to give us a week of calm."
"Katie, I can tell you were sad to leave, but I didn't want to part with you yet. Reagan will be so happy to see you and you will get to go back." I said, looking at her. She seemed to have aged overnight. My little ten-year-old was becoming a little woman. Katie gave me a small smile and looked out the window. It would be a few hours till we were home. I hope seeing the Browns will put her in a better mood.
I decided to focus on the ball of nervous energy sitting next to Katie. Millie had decided to come with us right away. She was an orphan and had no family to say good bye to. At 15 she had just gotten her wolf and looked forward to training and learning. I told her she would be my assistant in the evenings only. During the day she will attend school and train just like other children of the Violet Moon pack.
She was nervous. She would also stay on the Alpha floor in one of the open rooms. This way I could get to her easily. She couldn't believe it. She had never stayed in her own room. I was happy to give her this life and a chance for more.
"Millie. Are you nervous?" I asked as she was bouncing her legs up and down.
"I am Princess, Luna..." Millie stumbled.Copyright by Nôv/elDrama.Org.
"Fillian. Remember I don't hold much for titles." I reached over and put my hand on her leg. "You will be amazing and if you need anything just ask."
Vincent leaned over and whispered, "is she your assistant or our new ward?"
I smiled up at him, "both." He chuckled. Kate and Millie both asked, "what" at the same time and started laughing. The mood turned cheerful and that was right before we were to enter into pack territory.
The pack members had lined the street and were waving. At first I thought it was because their Alpha had returned, but one held a sign that read we love our Luna Princess. I looked at Vincent. "I thought we were going to keep this on the down low for a bit." "We were but I told my mom before your request and she had already told some people. Word gets around fast I guess." He smiled and kissed me. I would have to live with everyone knowing. "She did say she would hold off on bugging you about the Luna Ceremony till next week, but I can't promise my sister will leave you alone."
"Oh my," Millie said, looking out the window. "your pack house is gorgeous. It is almost as big as the palace." Her nerves were melted away to excitement. I hadn't even told her the best part. For her time as my assistant, I was going to pay her and at 18, if she didn't find a mate she could run the trials for a position. I was waiting to make that my first act as Luna.

We parked and got out of the vehicle. Reagan came running with Val on her heels. They both hugged me and started talking at once. Reagan took a step back and went over to Kaite and started to talk with her.
I held my hand up to stop the barrage of questions coming from Val. This was just like Diane and Mrs. Brown with husbands in toe got to us.
"We can have a small dinner tonight with all of us to answer any of your questions. I would like to show Millie to her room and change myself." I said with a deep sigh.
Diane walked over, placed her hand on my arm and guided me away. "I am sorry. I had already told a few people. I hope you are not cross with me."
"I am not mad. Just tired and emotionally drained. Kate was sending sad vibes to us most of the ride home." I said, and Diane peered over to Katie who was putting on a big smile.
"She looks fine now." Diane stated, which got me to turn. Katie was talking with Val and Reagan about her time at the palace. I think five years will go by fast and she will be off to the palace.
"She is. She would have stayed but I think she came back to be with me. I love that girl," I said when I turned back and entered the house. Vincent took me from his mother's side, and we led Millie to her new room. She thanked us, ran and jumped on the bed. "Dinner is at 6. Please change and meet us there. Tomorrow Mrs. Brown will take you to enroll you at school." Vincent said before we shut the door and let her have her space to adjust.
"I came home from the palace with a Luna and two children. I think we will make a good instant family." Vincent kissed my head, picked me up and carried us down the hall to our room. "It is good to be home," I said as Vincent locked the door behind him.
