Chapter 1508 The Fiend In The Darkness

Darren left the cave under the lake by himself. Looking up at the inky black sky, he felt suffocated.

There were many powerful races in the abyss. It definitely wasn't going to be easy to find a race that

Darren was qualified to deal with.

Only creatures like the purple devil were as weak as ants in the abyss, and Darren was confident of

dealing with them.

Carrying his sword and blade on his back, Darren trudged along a path of black earth. The only other

movements came from his shadow, which amplified his loneliness.

After walking for some time, Darren halted in his tracks.

The wind was blowing past his ears. It carried an unusual aura with it.

Darren frowned. Concentrating, he poked a wisp of sword intent into the ground to probe.

In the blink of an eye, the black soil began to erode and multitudes of creatures emerged.

Before he knew what was happening, Darren was surrounded by a group of worm-like creatures. Their

wriggly bodies were at least ten feet long, mucus dripping off of its surface. They emitted a foul stench,

causing Darren to gag a little.

And yet, he smiled.

"They're weaker than the purple devils!"

Swish! Swish! Swish!

Darren didn't waste any time. He instantly brandished his sword and blade, and attacked them.

Hundreds of worms were killed in an instant.

Darren then released his god's power and forcefully compressed the souls of the worms that tried to

escape.

It didn't take long before the souls of the worms condensed into crystals.

However, once the souls of hundreds of worms were compressed, the soul crystal they formed was but

the size of a fingertip. This was far from what the Rule Soul Avatar needed.

However, Darren wasn't surprised. Generally speaking, the stronger the creatures were, the more

crystals their souls would condense.

Yet he still felt a bit better. After all, it was better than nothing.

The earth began to shake once more and then collapsed. Figures covered in mucus rushed into the

"This can't be good." Darren had a bad feeling about this.

became as dark as jet black ink.

Darren was dazed and confused. He couldn't even release his god's sense, so he couldn't detect

anything around him.

A fierce scream pierced through the darkness and enveloped Darren, making his soul tremble.

Streaks of dim light shot out of the God Characters, trying to tear the fiendish sense that had broken

into Darren's mind.

In the darkness, another pained scream echoed. The fiend hiding in the darkness seemed to be

suffering from the counterattack, and his soul was in extreme pain. His fiendish sense, which mixed

with his soul power, was being shattered.

Because the fiend in the darkness suffered such a great loss so early on in the battle, it made him fear

the human being. However, after a while, he calmed down. After he assessed Darren's cultivation

base, his fear faded away.

"So what if you have the God Characters to protect you? It'll be a piece of cake for me to take your

body. Ha-ha!"

The hoarse voice echoed in Darren's mind.

This time, it was the fiend in the darkness who was stunned.

He had thought this attack was enough to kill this weak human being a thousand times over. But in the

end, the attack only made his chest wounded, and even then, it was not enough to make him seriously

injured.

"His body defense... is remarkable!"

The fiend was ecstatic. This could be the body he had been longing for!

defense, Darren still felt that his bones were about to break under the pressure of the fiendish aura.

"Hahaha..."

Darren suddenly burst into laughter, as if the pressure didn't bother him one bit.

"You're just after my body, aren't you?" Darren's voice turned cold.

"So what? Once I take control of your body, I will be able to escape this wretched place and come back

to the world. It's good you've given up. I'll reward you with a swift death."

"You old monster, you are too naive!" Darren sneered. "I'm doomed, anyway. Why should I leave my

body to you? If you attack me again, I'll make myself explode. I'll never let you get my body!"

Darren's words stunned the fiend. Judging from the fluctuation of Darren's soul, he wasn't bluffing.

Of course, the fiend didn't want Darren to do that. If Darren did choose to self-destruct, the fiend would

be trapped here for who knew how long. The fiend couldn't bear the thought of this, so he was

determined to stop Darren from destroying his own body like that.

Could he possibly erase Darren's soul directly? The fiend had tried to do this from the very beginning,
