Chapter 1409 Defiant God Character

Chapter 1409 Defiant God Character

The chaotic evil energy in the blood cloud spread like the shadow of a devil across the sky, covering

the land in darkness.

Hundreds of Archean Beasts roared in unison.

The sound was so deep and loud that the space seemed on the verge of collapsing under the pressure

of their roars.

In that moment, the battle began. Given his current strength level, Darren could do nothing but watch

from a distance.

He felt agitated, and thought, 'No, no, this is pointless. I can't just stay here and watch from afar.'

If Darren didn't do something soon, the battle would be decided without him. He frowned, thinking, then

suddenly came up with an idea.

He soared into the air.

He flew away from the village, towards the dark, shadowy clouds above.

"Finley, where are you?" Darren shouted at the sky.

As the controller, Finley could hear Darren's shout.

"What's wrong, Darren? I'm trying my best to save those big shots," Finley said, communicating with

Darren through his spiritual sense.

"Can you get away now?" Darren asked. Property © of NôvelDrama.Org.

"No, I can't. If I take back the force of control now, those old fellows will be in danger! They might be

transferred to another space and time, and if that happens, they'll never be able to come back," Finley

said quickly.

Darren absorbed this information. "Then send me to the star occupied by the Evil Deity. I'm going to

save the mistress of the Chu Clan," he said.

Since the Evil Deity was busy fighting somewhere else, Darren might as well take advantage of the

situation.

"You won't succeed," Finley said unhappily. "The Evil Deity used the Original Sin Chains to bind her.

Even I can't release her. It's useless for you to go there." Finley regretted that he did not have enough

power to save the mistress of the Chu Clan on his own.

"I will go whether you think it's useless or not. Send me there now," Darren replied without hesitation.

"Well, be careful, then... I'm going all out to tear up the turbulent flow of time and space. I can't be

distracted," Finley said.

"Got it. I'll be careful."

With that, Finley used the force of control to send Darren away.

It was dark on the withered star when Darren arrived.

He landed on the ground and looked at the figure looming in the distance. Twenty-four black iron

chains extended from the darkness, bound around a woman, preventing her from moving.

"Is that Mrs. Chu?" Darren muttered to himself.

He felt a strange sensation as he gazed at the bound woman.

His skin tingled when the woman suddenly opened her eyes.

Her icy gaze fell upon Darren.

She glared at him with her deep, cold eyes.

A strong wind swept over Darren, causing a jolt of pain in his face.

"Who are you?"

she asked in a soft, low voice, staring at him.

"Madame, my name is Darren Chu."

He spoke as politely as he could, but he felt unnerved. He wasn't sure what would be the right thing to

say.

"Are you a member of the Chu Clan?" the woman asked abruptly.

There was excitement in her expression as she studied the stranger. She sensed the aura of a very

familiar bloodline in this young man.

"Yes, I am the direct descendant of the Chu Clan. May I ask who you are?" Darren replied.

The woman's body trembled. Suddenly, she started struggling against her chains, fighting to break

loose from the black iron that bound her.

But her struggles were fruitless. Eventually she stopped moving, looking deeply pained, as though she

had just been viciously attacked without warning.

Darren stayed still. After a few more moments, the wild expression vanished from the woman's face as

she began to calm down.

"You should call me Aunt Yolanda," she said. "But kid, I think you're more than just a direct descendant

of the Chu Clan." She pressed her lips together and gave Darren an oddly gentle gaze.

"Aunt Yolanda?" Darren repeated, sounding surprised. "Aren't you the wife of our ancestor, Alfredo? It

seems impertinent for me to call you my aunt."

"Not at all," said the woman, shaking her head. She narrowed her eyes at him and said, "Tell me—your

real name is Xavier, right?"

Darren was stunned. He said nothing.

The woman waited patiently as Darren blinked, staring at her. "Yes!" he said. "My name used to be

Xavier. But how—how did you know that?"

The woman's face changed again, this time becoming mournful. Tears welled in her dark eyes.

Although her wrists were tightly chained, she could move her hand a little. When she wiggled her

slender fingers, Darren stepped backward as some strong, inexplicable force surged into his mind.

The God Character in Darren's mind began to spin crazily, becoming extremely restless.

Darren realized that this woman sensed the aura of his God Character.

"Alfredo, do you see this?" the woman said. "Your nephew, he's back. He's back..."

Her shoulders convulsed as she sobbed.

'Nephew?' Darren thought. He felt shocked.

His nose twitched with a mixture of sadness and excitement. Was he about to find the answers to his

questions? Was the mystery of his origin and his parents about to be solved?

"Aunt Yolanda," he said. "Don't worry. I'll find a way to get you out of here. I'm so sorry for all that

you've suffered here." He felt tears in his own eyes and struggled to control his emotions.

He had been in exile for so many years, and now, at last, he had finally found his blood relatives. It was

exciting and overwhelming.

She shook her head at him. "Go, my child. You can't save me with your current ability. If the Evil Deity

comes back, you will be in danger," the woman said anxiously.

"No, I'll figure something out," said Darren with determination.

It had been so difficult to find his family. How could he abandon her now?

Darren flew upward again.

He lunged towards the woman, and his sword intent surged forward as he slashed with all his might at

the Original Sin Chains.

But his blow didn't even touch the chains.

Before Darren could get close enough, he was pushed away by a terrifying force that crashed strongly

and painfully into his body.

'So what?' he thought. What he felt now was nothing compared to what his aunt had suffered.

Recklessly, Darren flew towards the woman again.

This time, he gathered all his strength to bombard the chain with his attacks.

A cracking sound split the air,

and countless bolts of red lightning struck at Darren from all directions.

"Stop it! Stop it!" the woman shouted in an anxious voice. "Why are you so stubborn? Don't you realize

by now that you won't be able to break the chain this way?"

Darren understood that at his current strength level, he had no hope of breaking the chains. However,

he had no choice but to try.

The lightning attack had ravaged his body, and Darren fell to the ground, near death.

"Stupid child," the woman cried frantically. She looked at Darren's prone body with grief. Then she

remembered something.

With a soft buzz, the Space Ring on her finger moved.

A black crystal materialized, floating in front of the chained woman.

A green light suddenly flashed out and headed towards Darren's body. It covered every inch of his skin

and then vanished. It seemed as though he had absorbed the green light. In the next instant, his

terrible wounds were gone. He had been completely healed.

"Kid, listen to me," the woman said. "Stop with that foolish impulsiveness."

Darren opened his eyes and looked at her. He nodded slightly.

"Do you have both the Assimilating God Character and the Evolving God Character?" she asked.

"Yes, Aunt Yolanda."

"Good. I possess the Defiant God Character. Take it now," she commanded.

The black crystal floating in front of the woman spun in midair and then flew towards Darren.

"Aunt Yolanda, what's the use of me taking a God Character? I still can't save you," Darren admitted,

feeling helpless.

"Just listen to me. Only when you possess this God Character can you save me," the woman said

urgently.

Darren sat up, immediately feeling alert and excited. "Is that true? How can I do it?"

"When you take the Defiant God Character, a strand of remnant god's power will rush out of it. With

that remnant power, you can break these Original Sin Chains," she explained.

"Okay!" Darren agreed instantly. "Hold on, Aunt Yolanda. I'll get you out right away."

Darren stared at the crystal and activated his soul power, wrapping it around the black crystal.

A sudden roaring sound filled Darren's mind.

Countless rumblings of thunder flooded out of his mind and fell over the black crystal.

The black crystal spun rapidly in the air.

Even as it spun like a top, it began floating slowly towards Darren.

Darren suddenly felt a moment's doubt. He sensed the Defiant God Character, and it seemed to be

strongly hostile towards him.
