No Bounds for the CEO’s Spoiling

Qin Muxuan walked upstairs and reached the VIP floor. Then she started to look for the impatient ward that Elderly Lady Gu had mentioned. As she reached the door of the ward, she took a deep breath, not knowing who was waiting for her inside.

The lights were still on in the long corridor. After Qin Muxuan braced herself up, she finally pushed the door open. The ward was deadly quiet as if no one was there. Qin Muxuan doubtfully tried to turn on the light. However, the moment she stepped into the ward, the security alarm was triggered immediately. The alarm sounded throughout the building and the red warning light filled the place. Qin Muxuan got pale in terror. Suddenly, there was a crashing sound coming through from inside the room. After Qin Muxuan took a step back, she saw four or five bodyguards rushing to her. The moment they saw her face, they grabbed her arms at once rudely and said,

“Who sent you here?”

Qin Muxuan didn’t know what was happening right now, terrified. After a short while, she heard steady steps. Gu Zijin walked over in a long black coat, with a gloomy and cold look on his delicate face, seeming like a demon at night whom no one dared to come close to.

Qin Muxuan seldom saw Gu Zijin being like this. She didn’t know why but felt her eyes a bit sore. On the other side, Gu Zijin felt the figure very familiar from far away. After he recognized Qin Muxuan’s face, he said coldly with his lips compressed,

“Why are you here?”

“Elderly Lady Gu sent me here…”

Gu Zijin glanced at the bodyguards with a cold look and then fixed his eyes on their hands with which they grabbed Qin Muxuan tightly. With a displeased look in his black eyes, he said right away,

“Let go of her.”

The bodyguards followed his order right away. After they let go of her, she almost fell onto the ground with her legs getting limp. She didn’t know what happened just now since the only thing she had done was opening the door in front of her. Gu Zijin reached out his hand to help Qin Muxuan and asked with an obscure look,

“How do you know the room number of this ward?”

“I just told you. Elderly Lady Gu has told me.”

“Grandma would never tell this to anyone.”

With a cold look crossing his eyes, he looked to Qin Muxuan sullenly. Qin Muxuan only felt the look in his eyes so unfamiliar and couldn’t help but wonder if Gu Zijin really was suspicious of her right now.

“I really…”

Qin Muxuan, choked with sobs, couldn’t continue anymore. Clearly Gu Zijin didn’t trust her words at all, judging from the icy cold expression in his black eyes. Since he didn’t believe her, all her explanation would be useless. Thinking of that, Qin Muxuan looked away with her fists clenched. Gu Zijin then said gently,

“I’ll send you back first. Tell me what happened tonight after you straighten out your thinking.”

“I have no idea what happened tonight.”

“Something happened to my dad. Three hours ago, someone sneaked into the ward and tampered with his infusion bottle.”

Qin Muxuan, body and heart both trembling, gave a wry smile and bit her lips,

“So you think I have done it, right? Otherwise there’s no reason for me to show up at this moment.”

Gu Zijin said yes directly without covering his thoughts. Then, Qin Muxuan pushed him away lightly, feeling that there was no point in explaining for herself at all. ‘That’s right, no woman in this world would harm her own son. Gu Zijin would never believe that I was sent here by Elderly Lady Gu.’ Qin Muxuan was overwhelmed by the sorrow in her heart and then walked to the end of the corridor alone.

“She’s left.”

On the way back, Qin Muxuan looked at the scenery outside the window and said in a low soft voice,

“I don’t know what happened, but Elderly Lady Gu really was the one who asked me to go there.”

Gu Zijin answered yes and suddenly stopped the car without saying anything. The black Bentley was parked on the asphalt road quietly, when it was pouring outside. Qin Muxuan remembered the rumors about Gu Heng’s bad condition. Then she realized that she had never seen Gu Heng ever since she began to live in the Gu’s house. ‘Tonight Gu Zijin and Mrs. Gu rushed to the hospital anxiously. Is it because Gu Heng’s situation has got worse? Otherwise Gu Zijin wouldn’t have brought Xiaobai over there.’

“Qin Muxuan.”

“Huh?”

“Come closer.”

Qin Muxuan got a bit dazed hearing that. Still, she approached him tamely. With a slightly sad look in Gu Zijin’s black eyes, he reached out his hand to hold Qin Muxuan in his arms tightly. Surprised as Qin Muxuan was, she still hugged Gu Zijin subconsciously. Then she felt his body extremely cold, which terrified her. Qin Muxuan bit her lips and said softly,

“Gu Zijin, I’m not a canary in the cage that needs your protection all the time. Sometimes you have to tell me your problems, perhaps I can be of help.”

Gu Zijin showed a light smile in his eyes, looking so charming like a figure in the portrait.

After they arrived at the Gu’s house, the rain had already stopped for half an hour. Elderly Lady Gu waited in the living room long ago. Seeing Gu Zijin coming back, she stood up to greet him right away,

“Is Gu Heng all right?”

“He’s fine now. The doctor has saved him, but he is still in a comma right now. Mother and Xiaobai is accompanying him in the hospital.”
