“Uncle Chen sent you here?”

Qin Xiaobai nodded his head honestly and then held Gu Zijin’s leg,

“Daddy, Dabai’s birthday will be in a few days. I don’t have the money. Can you help me prepare a birthday gift for her?”

“Daddy, it’s your fault that I missed having dinner with Dabai.”

“You didn’t have enough just now?”

“Of course not. I was thinking about the snow pear soup that Dabai made all the time.”

Qin Xiaobai muttered that in a low voice and headed inside. There was still a lamp on in the living room. Qin Xiaobai smelt a familiar sweet scent. Then he twitched his nose and said,

“Mommy has saved the snow pear soup for me.”

Right after Gu Zijin entered the room, he saw Qin Xiaobai running toward the kitchen. However, the little boy wasn’t tall enough to reach the pot and could only stand on tiptoe and ladle out the soup clumsily. After Gu Zijin took the ladle from Qin Xiaobai, he filled a bowl of the snow pear soup and put it on the table, saying,

“No, after you finish the soup, just leave the bowl on the table and go upstairs to wash yourself and sleep. Daddy still has something to do.”

It seemed that Elderly Lady Gu would never give up until he declared his stance firmly. Gu Zijin, feeling a bit vexed, pulled open the drawer and tried to find a cigarette.
