In the large room, a woman was sitting by the French window with her hair disheveled. She raised her hand to block the dazzling sunlight. She had remained in that posture for quite a long while, and now her skin even started to burn.

Even so, she still didn’t stand up to close the curtains. Instead, she bathed herself in the sunlight as if it was the only way to warm her cold heart.

She didn’t remember how many days she had been locked up here. When she opened her eyes after she had been knocked out, she had tried every possible means to escape. However, after failing to jump out of the windows and breaking the door, she was still here.

The strange thing was that the person who locked her here seemed to have no intention to harm her. Not only would someone send her three meals a day, but there was also a doctor checking her body every day.

At first, Qin Muxuan had struggled hard. She had cried and wailed, even threatened to die. However, she had never seen the person who had abducted her.

The door creaked open.

Qin Muxuan looked to the door, seeing the maid who sent her meals every day. After the maid put the dishes on the table, she found there was no water in the kettle. Then she brought the kettle out, seeming to fetch the water for Qin Muxuan.

Qin Muxuan stared at the closed door. Then, the sound of someone locking the door came through as she expected.

Qin Muxuan turned around to look out of the windows. After a while, the maid opened the door again and put the kettle on the table.

“It’s a lovely day today. Can I go out for a walk?” Qin Muxuan hadn’t talked for days. When she had just spoken, she found her voice even a bit hoarse.

“Miss Qin, you should stay in your room. I’m just a servant and couldn’t decide anything.” The maid called Xiaoqi had been newly hired by Elderly Lady Gu because the old lady didn’t want Qin Muxuan to figure out who had kidnapped her.

Nevertheless, Qin Muxuan had actually guessed about the abductor. The one who locked her here seemed to care about her child a lot. When she saw the photo on that phone that day, she had already been suspicious of Elderly Lady Gu.

“Call Elderly Lady Gu, tell her that I am not in a good mood being locked up in the room. If things continue like this, something bad might happen to the child inside me.” Qin Muxuan said in a flat tone.

Xiaoqi looked utterly surprised hearing that. She never realized that Qin Muxuan knew that she had been kidnapped by Elderly Lady Gu.

“I don’t know Elderly Lady Gu. Miss Qin, you must have misunderstood something.”

Qin Muxuan turned around and stared at Xiaoqi. “You should know that she cares about the child I am carrying a lot.”

Xiaoqi did know that. She also knew that Elderly Lady Gu had even arranged a doctor and a dietitian for Qin Muxuan. What she didn’t know was who was the father of Qin Muxuan’s child.

“The child inside me is her great grandson.”

After Qin Muxuan had said that, Xiaoqi opened her eyes wide with disbelief on her face.

Qin Muxuan was not surprised to see that reaction. It seemed like Xiaoqi truly knew nothing. “The child is inside my belly. I can do anything to this child.” Qin Muxuan’s words sounded quite threatening.

“If anything happens to Elderly Lady Gu’s great grandson, I don’t think a servant like you will be able to afford it.”

“Wait a minute, Miss Qin, I’ll call Elderly Lady Gu right now.”

Xiaoqi was threatened by Qin Muxuan’s words. Afraid that Qin Muxuan would harm the child, Xiaoqi locked the door right away and then dialed Elderly Lady Gu’s number.

“Baby, I’m sorry. I only said those words on purpose. I didn’t mean to abandon you.”

Qin Muxuan touched her belly. When she had uttered those words, she felt the baby moving within her.

“My sweet baby, I’ll take you out very soon.”

In the meantime, Xiaoqi was calling Elderly Lady Gu now. After she repeated Qin Muxuan’s words, Elderly Lady Gu really agreed with Qin Muxuan’s request after a short moment of hesitation.

Xiaoqi then showed a smile on her face. She was a college student in her third year and only worked here in order to save money for her college education. At first, she had thought that her work would be serving tea or doing the cleaning. Never did she realize that Qin Muxuan would be locked up here and her duty was to guard Qin Muxuan. If Qin Muxuan ran away, Xiaoqi should tell the bodyguards outside at once.

“Miss Qin, Elderly Lady Gu agreed.”

“Really?”

“But she said that you could only be out for an hour and I’ll guard you the whole time. So, you should give up the idea of running away.” Xiaoqi said that.

“Don’t worry.” Qin Muxuan nodded in consent. However, it didn’t mean that she wouldn’t try to escape.

“Watch out, Miss Qin. You are carrying a baby now.” Xiaoqi seemed a bit nervous.

Qin Muxuan had sat on the ground for too long and her legs started to get numb. Xiaoqi helped Qin Muxuan stand for a while. When Qin Muxuan’s legs finally could move, they walked to the outside.

As Qin Muxuan arrived outside, even her steps had got lighter.

“Miss Qin, watch the steps.”

Thinking of her child, Qin Muxuan then slowed down.

When she stood by the door to the villa, she finally got a whole picture of the outside scenery. As she turned around to look at the house behind her, she found it a little different from the villas in City A in design style.

Qin Muxuan wondered if she had already left City A with her eyebrows knitted. Then she started to recall when she had been in a comma but still had no clues.

“Miss Qin, would you like to walk around?” Xiaoqi supported Qin Muxuan and asked that.

“OK, please show me around.” Qin Muxuan planned to get familiar with this place. First, she had to know where was the gate. When she walked out of the villa, she found this area was surrounded by walls and there was nothing outside the villa beside the flowers and grass.

Xiaoqi brought Qin Muxuan to a garden, inside which were all kinds of vegetables that Qin Muxuan had never seen. As Qin Muxuan looked forward, she found a swing surprisingly.

“Miss Qin, do you want to sit there?” Seeing Qin Muxuan fixing her eyes on the swing, Xiaoqi asked that.

Qin Muxuan nodded. Then Xiaoqi took her over there right away. After Qin Muxuan sat on the swing, Xiaoqi started to push her.
