Nine Months Too Late 56
THREE DAYS LATER.
Something was definitely wrong - Sylvie concluded as she typed away on her keyboard.
Neither Kage nor Westley had said something to her about an issue, but she knew there was one. She just didn't know who to get it from. Kage had been acting really strange around her, giving her the cold treatment. Although, he never stopped providing more than enough food for her and made sure she always had what she wanted. But that little warmth between them had now grown very cold. And Sylvie couldn't u n't understand why. As for Westley; he was still on about the wedding. He kept pestering her to think about it and give him a reply soonest. His desperation was actually the reason Sylvie was still reluctant about it.
She checked the time. It was almost eleven. She and Kage had to go for an inspection.
Her hands froze on the keyboard when her abdomen hurt, Oh, God.
She lowered her head and groaned, waiting for the wave to subside. It did. She stood up, exhaling deeply and grabbed her bag
She's been experiencing light cramps for some days, but the gynaecologist told her it was normal and would be ending soon. But there were times when she wished she had a shoulder close by that she could put her head on and groan. She wished her life wasn't so lonely.

a stab to her chest. Just the other night, they had dinner and walked down the road together. Now, he was acting like she was an employee who was bugging him. What did she possibly do? Getting into his car, they set out to their trip. They'd barely gone far when she spotted an ice cream truck by the side of the road.

was able to get a peek of the truck before their car drove pass.
He rolled his neck. "It's day tine, Sylvie. We can't possibly stand in such a crowded area to get ice cream."
Sylvie fell as though, she'd been asked to stop breathing, she'd been craving something cold and sweaty since she woke up.. She's taken a bottle of cold drink already, but the craving wouldn't quench. And now, seeing the ice cream truck with some kids holding cones of it, she realized that was exactly what she needed
"How about someone goes down and gets it for us? Please, Kage. I really need it

He handed her a napkin. "You eat like you a still a kid. Have some."
She frowned. "Well, then, I am a kid, Kage. Or maybe it's because I'm pregnant with kids, what do you think?" She laughed. looking at him.
kage's eyes seemed to linger a little longer on her. He didn't smile but looked at her with those cold eyes, like he had a lot on his mind.
He looked away, returning his gaze to his laptop/

"What's going on?" Sylvie asked as she walked back to the car with Kage.
Kage had his hand in his pocket and wouldn't look at her. "What're you talking about?"
"This this very attitude you've been displaying" She sighed. "We've been acting like strangers, Kage. You hardly look at me, you hardly talk to me. It's as if ... you're withdrawing. What's the problem?" Kage didn't look at her, and to make it worst, he said nothing in response to her questions.
I'm serious, Kage. Did I do something?" They were getting older to their car.
"Sure, you

Her eyes flashed with hurt. Why wouldn't he talk about it?
She continued walking, getting to the car before him.
You know you can talk to me about it, right?" she asked when he joined her in the car.
"Why? What can Sylvie Price do for Kage Hawkins?" His eyes were on his laptop.
She scoffed disbelievingly. "Well, I may not be Kage Hawkins, but there are still a lot of things I can do, alright? What do you think you are, a god?"
Chapter 56 "Maybe"
They hit the road, and the silent treatment continued. Few minutes later, Westley called.
Sylvie glanced at Kage who was busy with his laptop before picking the call.
"Hey
"Hye, babe. How're you doing?"

"Oh Had lunch already?" Not yet.

Ther words were interrupted she Kage snatched the phone from her hand, ending she call. Her eyes widened as had looked at him in shock "Hey! What the... what are you doing!?"
He threw the phone back at her. "That right there, is one of the problems! I don't want you talking with this guy. Sylvie. I don't want my kids being around him!" He snapped. Sylvie was perplexed. "What do you mean you don't want me talking to him? We're engaged, Kage, just in case you're forgetting,"
"Well, then, don't talk
