Chapter 33: •New home•

Quinn:

I sat on a chair in his study, patiently waiting for him to return. I'd taken a tour of the huge mansion and

it was empty. Finding my way to his study, I decided to wait for him. Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.

A while later, I heard the sound of the iron double arched doors that lead to the living room opening. My

ears picked up his purposeful strides and the even sounds of his heartbeat. I should step out and get

done with the reason for my sudden visit but I decided to surprise him and that meant waiting some

more.

Moments later, I heard him approaching the study. As soon as he opened the door, I greeted him with a

grin.

He simply closed the door and leaned against it, staring at me with raised brows.

"Invading my home now huh?" He asked his expression a bored one.

"Not exactly my fault. I visited at the wrong hour and had to wait to meet you".

Walking towards the desk in the home office, he slumped into one of the leather seats opposite me,

clasping his hands atop the table.

"what do you want?" He asked, cutting the chase.

I liked him. Always straight forward.

"Another favor"

"You're yet to pay me for the first one"

"You haven't exactly asked for a payment"

"Soon" he muttered. His eyes bored holes into mine, asking one question; why was he In his home?

"My friend is in trouble and I need her to stay here for a while for safety reasons. She's not safe with

me"

"Why should I help you?" I

smirked. He wanted a reasonable answer.

"If you didn't want to, you would have never offered me the cabin. And about that, thanks but I can't

stay there anymore. Someone traced me there"

"Do not get me involved in your shit"

"Trust me, no one can trace either of us to you"

"If I help you, you owe me twice"

I nodded in approval.

"I can ask for my payment at any. Fucking. Time" he enunciated his words as if to drill them into me.

Again, I replied with a curt nod.

"She's welcomed to be here"

As soon as he said the words, I was out of his home and back to mine where Rhea was seated on the

bed waiting for me.

"He's agreed to let you stay" I informed her.

"He?" She questioned, frowning.

Immediately, I knew her concern.

"Don't worry. You'll be in safe hands. He won't hurt you but if he does I won't hesitate to rip his heart

out"

Her eyes widened at my statement and I smirked.

"Come with me".

Rising from the bed, she walked to me and grabbed my arm. With that, I teleported back to Damon

Graves home, resurfacing at his study. He was still there but now seated on the seat I'd vacated,

working on his laptop.

Sensing our presence in the room, he raised his head. His gaze drifted past me to Rhea, drinking her

in. I saw a hint of interest in his eyes as they glinted. His eyes flashed to mine and he smirked. The

bastard.

"Welcome to my home..."

"Rhea" Rhea offered, staring at him and then returning her eyes to me.

"Hmmm...Rhea, nice name" he complimented her.

"Thank you" Rhea muttered.

"This is Damon Graves" I motioned to him and she nodded. "You'll be under his care for the meantime

while I'm away"

"Welcome and feel at home Rhea"

Damon stood to his feet, walking towards us.

"This way" he motioned towards the door exiting it.

We left the study and climbed a flight of stairs to a hallway. He stopped at the first room in the hallway,

opening the door. He stepped into it and we followed suit.

"This will be your room for the duration of your stay," he said, gazing at Rhea.

"Thank you" she muttered in a small voice, eyes roaming the large room.

In response, Damon nodded his head curtly.

"I'll leave you alone" with that he stepped out of the room.

As soon as he was gone, Rhea exhaled loudly.

"Hey" I grabbed her hands, holding them in mine and staring into her eyes. "Are you okay?" I asked,

searching her eyes.

"I am okay but it feels weird to know I'll be living with a stranger"

"For just a little time and you will get used to it. He won't hurt you".

"how do you know that?" She asked with resistance in her voice.

"Because I know he's a good man and I'd be checking on you daily".

She exhaled again in an attempt to feel better. Releasing her hands, I wrapped my arms around her,

pulling her into me to assure her of her safety.

"wait…" she raised her head. "D-does he knows about you and your abilities?"

"Yes. He is one of us but a different kind and he owns the cabin we lived at in the woods"

She nodded her head slowly as if to let the words sink in. After a while, I pulled away from the hug. It

was time for me to leave but first, I needed to have a word with Damon.

"See you soon" I pecked her forehead and with that, I stepped out of the room leaving her behind.

I strode to Damon's study to see him in the same position he'd been when Rhea and I saw him.

"Don't play any. Fucking. Games" I gritted out in annoyance.

In response, he chuckled, raising his head to look at me.

"Coming from the man who is my debtor?"

The asshole, he had plans.

"She is not a part of the payment".

"I told you I'd ask for any fucking thing at any ficking time" he smirked, infuriating me more.

"Forget it. I'm taking her back".

"she's safe here". The sudden assurance in his voice caught my attention. I stared at him and he gave

a curt nod.

I knew I could trust him. Staring at him with an unwavering gaze, I returned his nod before

disappearing.

I had new plans to take care of.
