Chapter 22 You’re Scheming Against Me!

Chapter 22 You’re Scheming Against Me!

It was a little after two o'clock in the evening when Lacey woke up.

There was a faint odor of tobacco in the room. The surroundings were dim, with only the night lights

faintly illuminated.

Lacey rubbed her head. She felt woozy.

"You're awake?" A magnetic voice suddenly rang out in the dimness.

Lacey shivered and subconsciously leaned against the bed.

With a single click, the lights in the room then switched on. Belongs © to NôvelDrama.Org.

Only then could Lacey see who was in the room, Sam.

Sam thrust his hands into his pockets and moved closer to her, stopping once he reached the edge of

the bed

"Why am I here? Where is this place?"

Lacey frowned and turned to face Sam, who stood straight.

There was an inexplicable chill about him, and it made her feel a little uneasy.

Wait a minute!

She looked around hurriedly. Wasn't this—

Her heart had risen to her throat.

Wasn't this the place she gave up her virginity!

The Presidential Suite of Attixs!

"Have you forgotten what you've done?" Sam flashed an indifferent grin. His eyes were ice-cold and

piercing.

Lacey gave him a wary look. Why had he brought her here?

She frowned, trying to recall what had happened before.

As memories came flooding back, her eyes dimmed. She held the quilt tightly in both hands.

She remembered now.

Her mother was dead.

Bailey had slapped her hard, and Lillianna had put on a terrific show.

Everyone looked down their noses at her.

It all came back to her now.

Lacey bit the bottom of her lip. She felt pain inside.

Meanwhile, Sam couldn't help but lean closer to her as he stared into her sad eyes and quivering

shoulders.

"Do you recall the last thing you said to me?"

His warm breath was close to her. Lacey was startled. And when she looked up, she collided with

Sam's inky eyes.

"What do you mean?"

Subconsciously, she moved back.

What was he talking about?

An obscure light flashed in Sam's dark eyes. He lifted her chin and questioned, "You're scheming

against me, aren't you?"

Lacey's eyes flitted, and her jaw ached from the pinch. Nevertheless, she smiled and replied, "How

could I possibly be scheming against you? Why can't I understand what you are saying?"

"Oh, you can't understand what I'm saying?" Sam's lips widened into a grin. The coldness hidden in the

depths of his gaze, on the other hand, was unsettling.

Lacey felt uneasy.

Sure enough, Sam leaned down and suddenly came close to her ear.

His hands were against her sides.

At this point, they could feel each other's breath.

Their posture was somewhat intimate. The atmosphere was thick with ambiguity.

"Lacey." He sneered. "Do you know what will happen if someone provokes me?"

A terror like no other washed over her.

While Sam was admired for his talent and abilities, his means were far more terrifying.

Everyone in South City knew Sam couldn't be provoked!

Otherwise, they'd die a silent death!

Sam chuckled lowly. His voice was gruff and deep, like the low groan of a devil. "I'll give you ten

seconds to answer my question. Ten, nine, eight—"

The numbers were dwindling.

Her heart was about to jump out of her throat.

Sam's demeanor was downright frightening! As he counted down, she felt as if she was going to lose

her breath.

"What on earth did I say?" Lacey thought, trying to recall her memory.

"Three, two—"

It was at this moment that her eyes widened.

She remembered now!

"One!"

"Sam, do you want me?"
