Chapter 1119 The Stupid McDaniels
Chapter 1119 The Stupid McDaniels
When the gate was opened, Felicia was surprised to see that it was the guard at the gate.
Seeing the guard, Felicia gave a look of surprise, and then she asked with a serious expression, "What's the matter?"
Usually, the gate guard would not enter the house, let alone come to the Old Madam’s room, especially at such a late hour. All content is © N0velDrama.Org.
Felicia guessed that the guard was here to report something important.
"Felicia, Mr. Flint's teacher is here to see the Old Madam. Here is their letter." The guard replied as he handed Felicia the letter from Mr. McDaniel.
Felicia reached for the letter and examined it. She smiled when she saw Mr. McDaniel's name, "Why is he visiting the Old Madam so late? He must have a request."
"Should I let them in? Or should I tell them the Old Madam is asleep?" The guard asked Felicia.
Felicia closed the letter and replied, "Wait a moment. Let me go ask Madam."
"Okay." The guard nodded respectfully.
Felicia went back to the Old Madam’s room and closed the door.
The Old Madam had been in bed earlier, but now she was up again. She was reading a book.
Felicia bantered, "Madam, why are you up and reading? Didn't you just lie down?"
The Old Madam took no offense at Felicia's rebuke. She laughed softly, "Felicia, don't be angry. I couldn't sleep, so I got up and read. I'll go to sleep when I feel sleepy."
"Madam, you should not stay up late. It is not good for your health." Felicia walked over to the Old Madam. She was going to take the book from the Old Madam and make the Old Madam lie down again.
But the Old Madam knew what she intended to do. Just as Felicia reached for the book, the Old Madam immediately took it aside, so Felicia couldn't grab it.
Felicia was amused. "Madam, you..."
"All right, Felicia," the Old Madam said with a smile. "I know you're worried about me, but my health can't get any worse. Don't worry. I know myself."
The Old Madam was stubborn. She insisted on reading a while before she went to bed. Felicia could do nothing.
Just then, the Old Madam noticed the letter in Felicia's hand. She closed the book and asked, "What's that?"
"Oh, it's a letter from the McDaniels." Felicia remembered it and handed it to the Old Madam.
The Old Madam reached out, took the letter, and asked, "The McDaniels? Do you mean Julien's teacher?"
"Yes." Felicia nodded, "They are waiting at the gate now and want to see you."
"He wants to see me?" The Old Madam's hand trembled.
Felicia straightened the Old Madam's blanket and replied, "Yes, I guess they are here because of the news today. Miss McDaniel set Ms. Sydney up so that Mr. Flint would believe Ms. Sydney cheated on him and that he would break up with her. Then Miss McDaniel would have a chance to be with Mr. Flint."
The Old Madam showed no interest in the letter. She closed it without reading it. She threw it on the nightstand like throwing a piece of garbage and sneered, "I know the McDaniels very well. They are not decent people. I've known for a long time that Clay's daughter is fond of Julien, but Julien has no idea."
Felicia chuckled, "Mr. Flint has always been a fool when it comes to romance. It's good that he doesn't realize it, so he won't be bothered."
The Old Madam smiled, "Julien isn't really a fool. If he is so foolish, how could he have fallen in love with Syd when they were just pen pals who hadn't seen each other? He just doesn't pay attention to women he isn't interested in. That’s why he isn’t aware of Erin’s feelings for him."
"Anyway, it's a good thing that Mr. Flint doesn't know that Miss McDaniel is in love with him," Felicia said as she poured a glass of milk for the Old Madam.
Milk helped people sleep.
The Old Madam said she couldn't sleep, so Felicia gave her a glass of milk to help her sleep.
The Old Madam knew Felicia’s intention. She took the milk with a smile. "I guess Clay's daughter couldn't wait any longer, so she smeared Syd on the Internet. She couldn't stand Julien and Syd being together. She's worried she'll never have a chance."
"I don't understand what girls are thinking today. Why would she do such a disgraceful thing? She's Miss McDaniel. Why does she want to get involved in other people's relationships?" Felicia said with a look of contempt.
The Old Madam took a sip of milk. Her kind eyes turned cold, which looked exactly like Julien's cold eyes.
Julien should have gotten a lot from the Old Madam.
"Miss McDaniel?" the Old Madam sneered. "The McDaniels are not a noble family. If Clay's father hadn't had the luck to be Julien's teacher, who would know about the McDaniels? They've been using Julien's name for their own benefit."
"Madam, since you've long known that the McDaniels have been using Mr. Flint's name for their own benefit, why didn't you ask Mr. Flint to give them a warning?" Felicia looked at the Old Madam with a confused expression.
The Old Madam waved her hand. "It's no use. Even if Julien believes me, I have no proof and Julien won't cut ties with the McDaniels. Julien is a grateful child. Clay's father did help Julien with his studies, so I can't say anything. Otherwise, they would blame Julien for being ungrateful, so I never said anything. I just waited for the McDaniels to expose themselves. Even if they've been hiding their true colors, I'm sure they'll reveal themselves one day. Then Julien will know about them. And by then, the McDaniels will have worn out Julien’s gratitude to them. Julien won't feel guilty dealing with them."
"I see," Felicia nodded. "I've heard that Mr. Flint was annoyed because Erin deliberately set up Ms. Raines, and he decided to cut ties with the McDaniels, and that he might hold them responsible for it. I don't know if it's true or not. Madam, why don't you ask Mr. Flint?"
The Old Madam shook her head. "No. I believe what you have heard is true. Julien loves Syd so much. What McDaniels did must have upset him. I know Julien. He wouldn't go easy on them. I didn't call Julien or Syd to ask about it because I didn't want to get involved. Julien will handle it himself."
"Madam, you are right. You shouldn't interfere. Julien can handle it." Felicia laughed.
The Old Madam laughed too. "Yeah."
"But the McDaniels have come to see you. They should have known that Mr. Flint had cut them off, but they couldn't reach Mr. Flint, so they came to see you. They must want to plead with you. Otherwise, they would not be here. I don't believe they came to see you out of courtesy." There was a mocking smile on Felicia's face.
The Old Madam put the milk aside. "Yeah. If I remember correctly, Erin’s grandfather has been back to Mediana for a while, right?"
"He's been back home for half a month," Felicia replied.
The Old Madam patted her belly with her hand. "He's been back for half a month, but he never came to visit me. He has no respect for me at all. Now he needs my help and he's here. He wants to use me. How can I allow it?"
