My Pretty Sweetheart (Arianna)

Chapter 2379

Chapter 2379

After Jordan's subordinate finished speaking, the man's accusing gaze fell on me, his attitude conveyed his desire to kill me.

I knew what he was thinking. Everything was initially going fine for them. But after Jordan took me to the villa and gave me some freedom, their location was exposed. How could there be such a coincidence?

Unfortunately, my goal was far more than just the villa. His suspicions were accurate, but it was regrettably too early.

This made me dare to act all innocent. I came forward and asked, "Why are you looking at me like that? Are you suspecting me?"

"Am I wrong?" The man ground his teeth, completely ignoring the fact that Jordan was also present.

Compared to men in suits, his face was full of knife scars and made him even more ferocious looking.

Such people had an absolute sense of obedience. Once they were triggered, they could go mad and no one could stop them.

I didn't have the confidence to confront this kind of person, so I switched to Jordan and said, "You think so too, don't you?"

Jordan took a drag from his cigar and blew out a cloud of smoke. He took his time turning his face towards me then squinted at me through the smoky haze, "What I think doesn't matter. I wish to hear what you have to say. Did you do it?"

"No," I blurted out straightforwardly.

"Okay, I believe you," Jordan looked at me calmly, not giving the impression of being the least bit surprised.

After throwing away the ring, he seemed to have changed a lot. Nheless, his answer would only cause division between him and his subordinates.Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org exclusive © material.

"Mr. Jordan, this woman is clearly-"

Jordan didn't let him continue, "That's enough, you may leave. You are not allowed to enter the house in the future. If you have anything to report, just tell me in the courtyard."

"But-"

The man wanted to say something, but one stern look from Jordan was all it took to make him hold his tongue and leave dispiritedly.

"You don't doubt me at all?" I deliberately teased him.

"Do you want me to suspect you?" Jordan queried.

I didn't expect him to ask such a question and thus didn't know what to say in response.

Jordan took another puff of his

cigar. Drunk with nicotine, he carried

an

on, "Arianna, I'm no longer the I used to be. I'll believe whatever you without question."

What was going on?

The devil with bloodied hands suddenly came to its senses?

Could this change anything?

Could the innocent people that have died come back to life?

No.

"However," Jordan suddenly added, "Hendrix will be held accountable for everything that happened today. The end result will come soon enough."

Evidently, he was impossible to change.

With a sneer, I said sarcastically,

"Then you might as well blame it on me. If Hendrix were to get into trouble, in the end, I wouldn't remain unscathed. There's no need to be so roundabout."

"You're wrong," Jordan didn't even look at me. He just looked straight ahead with empty eyes and said absent-mindedly, "I won't kill him, but I have my ways to make him wish he was dead."

"Who do you think you are!" I stood up angrily.

Jordan remained unmoved. He put out the cigar in the ashtray and said, "It is only fair."

"Fair? You've always been the one who wouldn't leave us alone. You're the one who's messing with Hendrix. When did he ever make you wish you were dead?"

Jordan finally raised his head and looked at me with unfocused eyes. He said in a deep voice, "You did."

"Ridiculous, I've never..." I unconsciously wanted to deny it, but halfway through my sentence, I suddenly understood what he meant and immediately fell silent.
