“Why are you smiling?”

Janet frowned slightly and turned to look at the person who disturbed her.

Nigel covered his mouth and coughed. He smiled, “It’s nothing. I just find that you are cute when you

are serious.”

“Not funny.” Janet rolled her eyes at Nigel and continued to listen.

Nigel leaned forward and whispered into her ear, “Are you that interested? Actually, if you want it, as

the designer, I can open the backdoor

for you…”

“Stop.” Janet made a “stop” gesture and said seriously, “I want to represent the Longfellow Group and

myself to win the project with my ability. Don’t do anything.”

Hearing this, Nigel raised his hand to rub Janet’s hair. The softness stunned him. Before she came

back to her senses and slapped his hand, he withdrew his hand in time.

“Janet, you hurt my heart. You are so competitive; how can I show my ability?”

Nigel covered his chest and pretended to be heartbroken.

“Don’t be dramatic. What are you going to show?” Janet glanced at him.

Nigel blinked at her with a doting smile. “I want you to take a shortcut. But then again, if you want it,

you can just design something better. Why do you want to waste the money on my software?”

“I don’t bother to design it.”

Janet spread her hands and leaned back, leisurely saying. “I just want a ready-made one. Anything

wrong with that?”

“No! How about I redesign one for you for free? Treat it as my betrothal gift.”

Nigel stared straight at her. There was a hint of anticipation in his eyes. His narrow eyes looked

attractive. If not for the fact that Janet had known him for many years and that she was utterly calm,

she would have been mesmerized by these eyes.

She did not avoid his gaze. Instead, she looked into his eyes and said a single word.

“Scram.”

“Alright. I’ll scram now,” Nigel answered heartlessly with a smile.

The two used to get along like this. One was talkative while the other was aloof. This scene made

Janet feel as if she had returned to the

past.

Not far away, Nathaniel had been staring at the two people who were intimately interacting with each

other, and his expression was getting

gloomier.

Alfred was sitting next to him and looked at Nathaniel’s gloomy face. He felt as if a storm was on its

way.

It was abnormal!

Nathaniel was a famous workaholic, and no matter what happened, he would put work his priority, not

to mention that the software was

something he wanted.

At the critical moment, he was distracted to look at Janet.

Alfred didn’t believe that Nathaniel didn’t like her.

The interaction between Janet and Nigel was eye-catching for even a bystander like him. After all the

man was handsome and the woman

was beautiful which made them look like a couple.

It was obvious that Janet didn’t dislike that man.

Before Nathaniel realized his feelings for Janet, Janet would have been dating another man!

Alfred thought to himself that he had to find a way to fix them up.

Janet was too outstanding. If she was with someone new, Nathaniel would suffer a great loss!

After the software was displayed, the audience burst into applause.

Janet probably had a rough idea about this software, so she was more confident to win it, and she

showed it on her face.

“What do you think?” Nigel asked.

“Pretty good. I’m confident.”

*But overconfidence isn’t a good thing.” Nathaniel interrupted.

Janet didn’t pay attention to him. Anyway, Nathaniel had ruined the atmosphere many times.

Alfred, who was behind Nathaniel, covered his face, feeling that he couldn’t help Nathaniel.

This was not the way to create an opportunity. He was pushing Janet away!

After all the products were displayed, the host went on stage again and announced the end of the

opening ceremony. “The bidding will be held tomorrow. It must be a tiring day for all of you. Your rooms

are ready. Please take a good rest and prepare for the bidding.”

As soon as the host finished speaking, the guests all got up and left.

Janet was also going back to the hotel to prepare for the bidding. Seeing that she was about to leave,

Nathaniel wanted to follow her.

However, Nigel smiled and pulled Janet, saying with a hint of coquetry, “Janet, we haven’t seen each This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org: ©.

other for so long, and you are leaving

just like that?”

Janet was about to say something when the other two managers walked toward Nigel. One of them

was Earl, who went to pick Janet up.

Earl said a few words to Nigel and then turned to look at Janet and Nathaniel.

Janet didn’t need to introduce herself, and Nathaniel was famous in the industry, so Earl recognized

him.

Earl sent an invitation to Janet. “Ms. Longfellow, you happen to be here. There will be a banquet later,

and I hope you will join it.”

Janet didn’t like to join the fun, and just as she was about to refuse, she met Nigel’s sincere gaze. He

was somewhat expectant.

“Janet, go with me, will you?”

Janet thought for a while, and she agreed in the end. After all, she was here to do business, so she

couldn’t refuse necessary banquets.

Moreover, if she returned to the hotel now, she might have to go back with Nathaniel, so she agreed.

“Alright. Let’s go together.”

Nigel gave Earl a thumbs-up in his heart. He understood him too well!

However, Earl said to Nathaniel “Mr. Webster came from afar, I wonder if you are interested in going

with us.”

Hearing this, Janet frowned.

She wanted to hide from Nathaniel, but why did she have to stay with him?

She prayed that Nathaniel was uninterested and would refuse immediately, but she didn’t expect him to

agree without thinking.

“My pleasure.”
