Chapter 178 Hold a Meeting Secretly
After Janet got off the plane, she went to the Longfellow Group.
When Geordie knew Janet was back, he went to her office.
“Janet, you finally came back.” Geordie was sullen, and a hint of worry was in his eyes.
Janet sat in front of the desk calmly as if nothing could upset her.
“Geordie, what’s wrong? Don’t be anxious.”
Seeing Janet, Geordie got relaxed and laughed. “Janet, you are more and more like your father.”
“Geordie, thank you.” Janet smiled and asked, “Marco said you had something urgent to tell me. What
happened?”
Geordie nodded and sat opposite Janet.
“The situation of the company is stable. There is nothing abnormal. Conrad has recovered and returned
to the company.”
Hearing that, Janet was not surprised.
It was a matter of time before Conrad returned to the company. As long as he was alive, he would not
give up the idea of controlling the Longfellow Group. Janet was clear about that but wouldn’t allow
Conrad to succeed.
“I know he won’t yield easily. Geordie, thank you for your hard work.”
“That’s what I should do. I have promised to help you operate the Longfellow Group. However, Conrad
is bold. He secretly gathered some directors for a meeting when you were not here. They are in the
conference room.”
Geordie was in an embarrassing position. He was angry with what Conrad did but had limited power.
No matter what Conrad did, Geordie
could not interfere.
“I can’t stop him. Fortunately, you’re back. They had a meeting yesterday. I don’t know what they talked
about. I guess Conrad wanted to push forward the investment project secretly.”
Hearing that, Janet narrowed her eyes. It seemed Conrad was still stubborn after being beaten up.
Janet made up her mind to teach Conrad a lesson.
In the conference room.
Conrad sat in the main seat as if he was the boss of the Longfellow Group. He said to the directors,
“Have you considered it? The Longfellow Group spent much effort on the investment project, but Janet
wanted to stop it. Do you agree with her?”
Some directors who supported Conrad said, “Of course, no. However, Janet is the chairman with the
veto power. We can’t do anything. though we disagree with her…”
Some directors nodded in agreement.
Conrad snorted, “Does she know how to make a decision for the company? The Longfellow Group will
be in trouble sooner or later under her control. We should work together to push the project forward. As
long as more than half of us support the project, she can’t decide it
alone.”
Conrad had been managing the Longfellow Group for years. Many directors were on his side. And
some directors were dissatisfied with Janet. Although they dared not say it, they were happy to go
against her.
“Alright, it’s settled. After the meeting, I will push forward the investment project…”
As soon as Conrad finished his words, the door of the conference room was pushed open. Everyone
turned to look at the door.
“Conrad, you are capable. Such a major decision can be carried out without my agreement. Who do
you think I am?”
Janet sneered and slowly walked into the conference room.
Her gentle eyes turned cold.
When Conrad saw Janet, his forehead began to sweat, and he was somewhat nervous.
It was said that Janet would be back in two days. Why did she suddenly appear?
After thinking about it, Conrad realized it must be Geordie who had informed Janet.
Conrad tried to calm down and straightened his back.
