Chapter 66 He Didn’t Treat Athena Well

The cemetery keeper sighed.

He said, “Later when Athena attended Sir Newton’s funeral, she was older and more sensible. That

day, she bought ice cream to coax her Grandma, who was in tears instead.”

Byron went to the grocery store and bought two ice creams, handing one to the cemetery keeper.

He looked at the ice cream, feeling the chill spreading.

Taking a bite, Byron knew it was sweet but felt bitter after swallowing it.

“Did you quarrel with Athena?” The keeper asked, “I perceived something was wrong when she

returned suddenly. Did you bully her?”

“What? When did she come here?” Byron asked hastily.

“She came here the week before last, but I forgot the exact date,” the keeper responded indifferently,

dissatisfied with Byron.

This man was good–looking but didn’t seem to care much about

Athena.

Chapter 66 He Didn’t Treat Athena Well “Next time Athena comes, I need to warn her to stay away

from men like him,” the keeper thought.

Meanwhile, Byron was lost in thought. It occurred to him that Liam had said Athena asked for leave to

go home the week before last.

“Well, just go down this road, and you will see the exit!” The keeper didn’t bother to talk to him

anymore, showing the way

out.

“Sir!” As the keeper was about to leave, Byron stopped him.

“Is there anything else?” The keeper asked.

“This is my business card. I’ll appreciate it if you can contact me when Athena comes to the cemetery,”

Byron said.

The keeper thought for a while.

Did he get dumped by Athena?

That couldn’t be better!

“Okay!” The keeper took the business card and put it in his pocket without looking at it.

While he walked far distance and Byron was out of his sight, he threw the business card into the trash

can without hesitation.

He snorted, “I won’t betray Athena! You bastard.”

Just as he returned to work, a young man who looked well–behaved ran over.

“What’s wrong?” The cemetery keeper asked.

“May I ask, is Natasha Newton’s grave here?” The young man asked while taking out the cigarette

case and handing a cigarette to the keeper.

The keeper took a glance at him, thinking of what Athena’s Grandpa had enjoined him.

“If someone comes to ask whether my daughter is buried here, please don’t tell him.”

“Let me have a check,” he responded.

Then he paced back to the workroom and pretended to check the information on the computer.

So strange!

Why were there so many people coming for the Newton family today?

“I have to call Athena to inform her,” he thought.

Then he looked up and shouted outside, “There is no one called Natasha Newton. Go to other

cemeteries.” Content rights by NôvelDr//ama.Org.

The young man looked disappointed.

Chapter 66 He Didn’t Treat Athena Well He left after expressing his thanks.

Leaving the cemetery, he got in the car and made a phone call.

“I’m sorry. I haven’t found it yet… We still have other clues, so don’t worry.”

While comforting the other party, he started the car and slowly drove away.

The following day, Byron had been to all the places Athena could go.

In the old town, Athena’s home, where she grew up, had its door locked tightly.

The potted plants on the second floor’s balcony had withered.

This house seemed to have been vacant for a long time.

Along the way, he saw many similar scenes to those in Athena’s photos…

Byron wished he could follow these traces to find the one he was missing day and night.

He looked for her all day long but in vain.

When back to the hotel, Byron was exhausted from walking.

He called Athena again, but she was still unavailable.

Chapter 66 He Didn’t Treat Athena Well

Silence prevailed over the room, which made him uneasy

somehow.

Hence, he turned on the television.

Coincidentally, it was broadcasting about his engagement to

Heather on television.

On the screen, Heather held his hand. They stood in front of the media, and the host said they were a

match made in heaven.
