Jeremy understood Austin’s intention well–Austin clearly had designs on Natalie. Moreover, Natalie was somewhat oblivious when it came to romantic relationships.

Until now, Austin hadn’t let Natalie know his true motives, revealing the depth of his plotting and the extent of his patience.

“I misunderstood you,” Jeremy said solemnly.

Natalie’s expression softened slightly. “If there’s nothing else, I’ll leave.”

Jeremy called after her, “Wait a moment.”

“Is there something else?” Natalie asked. She stopped and turned to look at him.

Jeremy stared at Natalie for a long moment before speaking in a deep voice, “I am friends with Helena. NôvelDrama.Org owns this text.

Natalie, I’m here for you this time.”

Natalie’s expression changed. “You.”

A few days later, Skylar was browsing alone in a shopping mall. She needed to buy some new lingerie.

Joe had gone golfing with friends today. In the evening, he planned to meet her near the mall for

Wiscadian cuisine.

While she was there, she decided to replace her lingerie and buy a few pairs of underwear for Joe as well.

She also picked up two sets of loungewear.

“Skylar?”

Skylar turned around at the sound of her name.

It was Vera.

“What a coincidence! I didn’t expect to run into you here,” Vera said as she walked over, smiling warmly. It was as if there had never been any unpleasantness between them.

Skylar replied coldly, “It’s quite a coincidence.”

“I like the lingerie from this store too. It seems we have similar tastes,” Vera remarked, her words carrying a subtle implication.

Skylar’s smile faded slightly. “Is that so?”

“Have you made up your mind, Skylar? I think you know what choice you should make.” Vera suddenly dropped her smile. Her tone grew cold, and there was a hint of threat in her words.

Skylar responded coldly, “I don’t intend to answer the same question twice.”

“I’m giving you a chance to reconsider, Skylar. If you miss this opportunity, there won’t be another one,” Vera said, raising her chin slightly.

She looked confident of her victory, as if offering Skylar a choice was an act of charity.

Skylar had no desire to waste more time with Vera. Without another word, she turned and walked away.

Vera’s expression darkened with anger. She decided to see how Skylar would deal with the

consequences.

Vera then glanced down at her phone. The message she had sent to Joe on WhatsApp had received a curt three–word response, “We’ll see.”

In a couple of days, it would be her birthday. Some friends had planned a party for her, and many people were expected to attend. She had been looking forward to it, as it would be her first birthday celebration since returning to Jipsburg.

This was a perfect opportunity to reconnect with friends in Jipsburg, so she had taken the chance to invite Joe. But his response, “We’ll see“, indicated he might not come.

After biting her lip, she felt a sharp pain in her heart.

She then walked out of the lingerie store and exited the mall.

As she was exiting the mall, she caught sight of a familiar car. It was Joe’s.
