Chapter 1561: Heart-To-Heart
Chapter 1561: Heart-to-Heart
He approached the bed and looked down at the person lying on it, fast asleep.
He sat directly on the edge of the bed and pulled the person into his arms. Camille was startled by this sudden movement, her eyes met his in the darkness. She never expected him to come directly to Dane City.
Their eyes locked, and whether it was a psychological effect or not, she could feel the coldness emanating from Ayan even through the blanket.
Both of them remained silent, just staring at each other.
Until Ayan's lips landed on hers, she was still in a daze. His warm lips gently pressed against hers, bringing her back to reality.
Instinctively, she wanted to push him away, but she was completely trapped in Ayan's hold, with no chance to break free. She took a deep breath, seizing the opportunity to breathe, turned her head to avoid his kiss, and whispered, "Ayan, leave me alone!"
Ayan's voice was low. "Didn't you say you don't want to talk to me?"
If she didn't want to talk, then let their actions speak for them.
Camille frowned, displeased. "Let go of me, I can't breathe."
Ayan loosened his grip slightly, but letting go was out of the question.
In a deep voice, he said, "Still angry? What did I do to make you so angry? Can't you just be honest with me?"
Camille didn't want to mention anything about the photos, so naturally, she didn't want to say a word. She pursed her lips, maintaining silence. Ayan continued, "You don't want to talk to me? Is that why you came to Dane City?"
"If that's what you think, then I can't do anything about it," Camille replied.
Camille unleashed her inner scumbag, infuriating Ayan.
Ayan took a deep breath, his voice reaching its lowest point. He said, "Camille, I don't care why you're angry with me, but I'm angry that you came to Dane City to deliver a cake to Jordan. You can say it was a business trip and a birthday surprise for him, but did you ever think that I wouldn't be happy if I found out while we were still having a fight?"
Ayan expressed his displeasure and anger for the first time, yet even in his anger, he didn't let go of Camille. His hands remained firmly wrapped around her, and his deep black eyes continued to gaze at her. Their eyes locked together, and Camille was moved by the intensity. She spoke up and explained the situation in detail. After she finished speaking, Ayan remained silent.
Camille began to feel uneasy, as she was the one at fault in this matter. At that time, she didn't think too much about it. Since the incident, Mrs. Bailey had sent her an apology message, and Camille had replied to Sienna. She didn't think there was any problem, but she still felt somewhat guilty when facing Ayan.
Until now, neither Jordan nor Camille had contacted each other again. Jordan was probably caught up in a big dilemma and didn't have the spare time to reach out to her.
Naturally, Camille didn't care. They never had any real relationship. It was just because someone took a photo and spread rumors online, blowing things out of proportion.
After Camille's explanation, Ayan
remained silent for a long time. This made Camille lose control of her emotions in a hoarse voice, she said, "If you don't believe me, then I can't do anything about it. I don't want to explain anymore. What I said earlier is the truth. I did have contact with Jordan, but we haven't been in touch."
This time, it was actually a coincidence to encounter her because no one had mentioned her coming to Dane City, so it was impossible for her to have made plans with Jordan in advance. Since her friendship with Preston turned into a tragedy, she had become reluctant to form close friendships with the opposite sex.
After listening to Camille's outburst, Ayan smiled and raised an eyebrow. "I haven't said anything yet, and you're already impatient to stop explaining, aren't you?"
"I have nothing to explain. I've said
everything that needs to be said.Exclusive content © by Nô(v)el/Dr/ama.Org.
This is how
things are now. I don't
mind what those people online say because the real relationship is not what they claim. Is it wrong for opposite-sex friends to have a piece ofcake together?"
Camille snorted lightly, finding the netizens of this generation quite boring.
Ayan gently held her chin and whispered, "What's the matter between you and Jordan that I don't know?"
Why was she willing to celebrate his birthday?
Even though it was Jordan's mother's request, based on his understanding of Camille, if he didn't have a slight fondness for this person, of course, that fondness would be the kind between friends, she wouldn't have gone to deliver the cake.
Camille pursed her lips. There were some things she wasn't willing to talk about because they were in the past, and it didn't seem appropriate to bring them up now that they were together.
But Ayan clearly had the look of "you have to tell me," which left her unsure of what to do.
Her silence fell into Ayan's eyes, undoubtedly confirming that there was something he didn't know, so Ayan asked again, "Really don't want to tell me?"
"It's not a big deal. I first met him at
the vacation resort, it was just a chance encounter. I accidentally bumped into him. Then we met again in Dane City when I got lost, and he helped me find my way back to the hotel. Later, we went to see my grandfather at the hospital in Hance City. His mother was feeling sick, and I happened to help a little. It was only later that I found out Mrs. Bailey was his mother. So, our meetings were really, really simple, with nothing that could be
misunderstood."
Camille pushed Ayan away and sat up from the bed. She immediately turned on the bedside lamp, and the room in Hunan Province suddenly became very bright.
Their gazes met in the light, but Ayan's gaze was too intense, making Camille feel uncomfortable, so she looked away.
Camille's voice continued, "If I've said so much and you still find it unbelievable, then I don't want to say anything else."
She had said everything that needed to be said, even mentioning Mrs. Bailey's illness. She truly believed she had been honest enough.
Ayan looked at her, and his voice, which was initially low, became very gentle as he said, "I don't disbelieve you. I just don't want you to have too much contact with other men. I won't be jealous, okay?"
He reached out and embraced her once again, resting his chin lightly on her shoulder. His voice softened even more as he said, "If Jordan can be of help to you, tell me, and I'll take care of it, alright?"
