Everyone in the VIP ballroom looked at Dustin with even more disdain.

When Dustin stood up, it had taken everyone aback. They had nearly thought that he was secretly a rich man.

However, it was only a mistake. Somehow, the situation was even more laughable.

"Why did you stand up when it's not your car? Are you determined to shame us all tonight?"

Devina was already in a bad mood, but it had gotten even worse. She intentionally pulled Dustin aside and made him stand at the side. She was terrified that he would embarrass them further.

She did not know what was up with Dustin. What was even in his head? Did he not see how many people wanted to embarrass him at this reunion? Meanwhile, he was willingly handing everyone the chance to make fun of him.

"The class president is here!" someone said suddenly. Quite a few people went up to surround Marco.

A handsome young man showed up. He was smiling, and this attracted a number of women to walk up to him in admiration.

With the appearance of such an exemplary person, who already stood out from the crowd, Dustin seemed even more drab. The man used to be Shawna's class president. His name was Marco Geurrero. He was the son of an affluent business family. Naturally, the Geurrero family was more powerful than the Riley family.

"I'm going over there for a bit," Devina said to Shawna with a glass of wine in hand. Then, she tottered over quickly.

At that moment, Marco was the center of everyone's attention. Everyone wanted to suck up to him.

Things cooled down where Dustin and Shawna stood.

Shawna could finally relax.

She desperately wanted to avoid being the center of attention. That way, she would save herself a lot of grief.

"It's a rare occasion that we can all gather like this. You must all enjoy yourselves. I'll be paying for everything tonight," Marco announced.

"You're so generous, Marco!"

"You're so handsome, Marco!"

Everyone praised him, and he relished it.

A group of admirers surrounded Marco, but he did not pay attention to them. His gaze swept over the ballroom.

He brightened when he saw Shawna. He walked straight to her.

"Shawna, it's been years since we last saw each other. You've only gotten more beautiful," Marco said in greeting and smiled.

"It's been a while." Shawna squeezed out a smile.

The other guests looked between the two of them.

Everyone knew that Marco had tried to woo Shawna back in high school. However, Shawna had rejected him.

Tonight, Shawna had brought a pig farmer boyfriend with only high school qualifications to their reunion. With Dustin and Marco together in one place, what interesting things would unfold?

"They were telling me that you have a boyfriend now. This must be him, right?" Marco looked at Dustin as though he was inspecting him.

"His name is Dustin Fox," Shawna said with a frown.

She was still not bothered enough to explain herself. It was better if they misunderstood. It saved her some trouble.

"I wonder how wonderful Mr. Fox must be to have you as his girlfriend," Marco said half-jokingly.

His tone was ambiguous and did not sound like he was praising Dustin.

Who could be more exceptional than Marco himself?

"Marco, our campus belle's boyfriend is a graduate from some mysterious high school and is currently a pig farmer!" someone said with a laugh. "Who knows? He might become the owner of a pig-farming empire!"

The guests all started laughing.

The laughter was cruel. It was clear that they were mocking Dustin.

“A pig farmer?” Marco pretended to be shocked. “A career that requires diligence. It's the kind of thing people who were raised in luxury cannot ever hope to achieve. You're much more capable than us heirs."

"Don't be so humble, Marco. The Geurrero family has such a huge business. Besides, you're so capable. You might even become a big business mogul one day."

Marco acted humbly while the guests praised him. Dustin seemed like an even bigger joke in comparison.

Dustin's face darkened. Shawna looked upset as well.

"Shawna, you were so majestic back then. I was hurt for a long time after you rejected me," Marco said darkly "I never imagined that you would have such an amazing man by your side when we met again. It really makes us all lament the past."

Marco's eyes sparkled.

'Oh, Shawna. You didn't even spare me a glance back in the day. Now, I'm far beyond your league. Look at the kind of person you ended up with! Just a high school graduate and a pig farmer! It's your own fault for ending up in this position! Marco thought. noveldrama

His mocking words and sharp gaze made Shawna wary.

"I consider myself an exceptional person. Since Shawna's with me now, I'll make her happy," Dustin said to humor him.

"Yes, you're indeed exceptional." The guests chortled.

How could a pig farmer dare to call himself exceptional when he was at an event like this?

He was truly shameless to say such a thing.

Everyone in the ballroom was someone Dustin should admire.

What a character Dustin was!

Marco's expression became even more mocking.

"You two enjoy now. After all, this isn't the kind of place you can visit too often. It's a rare opportunity for you to enjoy your time here.” After saying that, Marco left to socialize with the others.

"It's been a long time, Shawna."

Just then, a woman in a long, red dress came over with a glass of wine.

This was the woman who had instigated things before. She was the one who had intentionally asked about Dustin's education and job.

"What else do you want to say, Stephanie?" Shawna asked in annoyance.

"Nothing, really. I just have a lot of emotions right now." Stephanie Cobain laughed. "You were the center of attention and so high and mighty back in high school. We could only ever admire you. Who would have thought you'd end up like this?

"I really don't understand how you found yourself a pig farmer. Is it because you won't go hungry that way? That can't be right..."

Stephanie was openly being blunt and mocking Shawna. This made Shawna's face darken.

Dustin frowned. He was also displeased.

"Oh, look, here he comes." Stephanie pointed.

Dustin looked over, and his face was full of conflict.
