Chapter 32 An Unexpected Plan
Chapter 32 An Unexpected Plan
After saying that, she laughed out. But Eden still remained emotionless.
Verena frowned and continued, "A stag kept running on a road. And he ran faster and faster. Then he
got on a highway!"
While speaking, she couldn't help laughing loud again. Even tears started to surge up in her eyes.
When seeing that, Eden just smiled, "Is it that funny?"
When hearing that, Verena bit her lips hard and pretended to be reticent, "A wolf shouted to a little
lamb, 'I gotta eat you alive!' And guess what happened then!"
She still pretended to be reticent and said seriously, "Then the wolf really ate the lamb alive!" Then she
burst into laughter again!
Finally, Eden smiled and laughed with her.
Verena laughed so loud that she couldn't even stop her tears. It took her quite a while to stop. While
wiping her own tears, she looked at Eden, "Come on, you are so taciturn! You even made me present
my trump joke!"
At this moment, Eden's phone rang.
He looked at her while smiling and then picked up the phone, "Hello?"
"Have you finished shooting? What are you doing now?" a sweet female voice sounded.
"Not yet! I am driving a friend home. Do you have dinner on time?" his voice sounded tender.
"Of course! I really miss you! Don't forget to miss me! Since you are driving now, I won't disturb you.
Call me back later! Bye, honey!"
"Okay, bye, honey! Do remember to drink more water!"
Verena was listening beside. When he hung up the phone, Verena blinked her eyes and asked, "Is that
your mom?"
Eden smiled, "It's my girlfriend."
When hearing that, Verena seemed to be frozen. Her heart felt like being stung and it even started to
spread, "You have a girlfriend?"
"Are you surprised?" Eden smiled at her. He still looked warm as usual.
Verena forced out a smile, "No. You are so excellent. It would only surprise me if you didn't have a
girlfriend."
Then she pointed out of the window, "There is a bus stop. Just park on the roadside. I don't want the
shooting to be retarded because of me."
As the car stopped, she soon unbuckled the safety belt and jumped off the car. Then she smiled
brightly at him, "Eden, bye! Be careful while driving! Wish your work to be done soon! Thank you for ConTEent bel0ngs to Nôv(e)lD/rama(.)Org .
what you have done today!"
"Well, take care!" Eden smiled at her warmly. He didn't leave until he stared at her for a while.
Verena got on the bus and looked outside the window, silent. Her smile looked a bit bitter and her
fingertips turned to be cold. She gasped and hugged herself tight with both arms. She kept repeating to
herself, "It's okay. It's okay, Verena."
Now she had no choice to chase after the one she loved. For her, love was nothing but a luxury. She
couldn't afford it!
What was more, Eden was such an excellent one. She didn't deserve to be his girlfriend.
When Verena arrived at the Lawson Mansion, the dinner was well served with all kinds of Chinese and
Western dishes. While Wilson was sitting on the host seat but the rest seats all remained empty.
She bit her lips hard to hold back her mixed feelings. Then she asked surprisedly, "Where is Sammy?"
"The butler took him to study calligraphy." Wilson pointed at the seat beside, "Sir, you look awful. Are
you feeling sick?"
She even didn't notice that he looked much thinner than the date they met for the first time and his face
looked pale until she looked at him carefully.
Wilson coughed and shook his head to say that he was fine. Then he asked the butler who stood
beside him, "Where is Lemuel? Why hasn't him been back?"
"Sir, Mr. Lemuel's sectary tells me that he is on his way here. Just rest assure."
While speaking, footsteps suddenly sounded from outside. Then Lemuel stepped into the parlor.
He was wearing a blue plaid shirt, a pair of black suit pants and black overcoat. He looked domineering
like an emperor.
Verena hurried to keep her head down when taking a glimpse at him only. She felt like suffocating
every time she saw him.
"What's the matter?" he sat down and asked directly, looking cold still.
"Do I have to make you here for dinner only when something special happens?" Wilson huffed
annoyedly.
Hearing that, Lemuel sneered and deemed it ridiculous, "Do you think that I should still stay with you
for a dinner as your son? Tell me if you have something special to say! Or I need to be back to the
company soon!"
"You!" Wilson coughed fiercely and kept beating his chest to calm down.
But Lemuel still looked indifferent and held up a glass of wine from the table with his slender fingers.
He shook it elegantly and then drained it.
Wilson was about to get mad. However, when seeing his move, he looked a bit different.
Verena, who kept silent just now, handed Wilson a glass of water, "Please have some tepid water. It
should help to ease your cough."
Lemuel looked at her coldly and sneered, "What a fawning one!"
"You!" Verena bit her lips out of anger and clenched her fists. What an arrogant freak!
"Miss Moore." Wilson beckoned her over and said, "Sammy made you a glass of juice before going to
study. He put it on your room."
Of course, Verena was aware that Wilson was trying to intercede between her and Lemuel. So she
nodded and left the parlor.
Lemuel staring coldly at her back fading away. Disdain and chill welled up in his eyes. What a
disgusting woman!
However, Lemuel suddenly felt like being stroke by a sense of strong dizziness. He tried to support
himself and rubbed against his own forehead. He tried hard to stay sober.
However, it didn't work at all! He felt dizzy again and his tall body suddenly leaned forward and fainted
on the table.
Wilson put down the glass he was holding and finally sighed a breath of relief.
At this moment, a servant came from upstairs, "Sir, Miss Moore fainted in her room."
Wilson told the butler who stood behind, "Take Lemuel in."
Then the butler and a servant held him up while Wilson was following behind.
They put Verena on the queen bed together with Lemuel. Wilson turned around to leave and made the
butler locked the door from outside.
"If anyone of you dare to tell anyone else about it, I will definitely make you feel worse than death!"
Wilson shouted heavily to others.
The servant couldn't help trembling when hearing that. He hurried to nod.
Wilson looked at the door being locked. Then he coughed and left.
