Chapter 325

Moses chimed in, “Grandpa, Joshua’s back.”

“So what? Why bother telling me?” Old Man Neal snorted coldly, clearly displeased with Joshua

He had been waiting all day, only to see Joshua alone.

Since their last encounter, Joshua knew his status in the family had plummeted, but fortunately, he was quick to adapt.

Joshua was not upset because Old Man Neal did not want to acknowledge him. Instead, he calmly sat down and leisurely sipped

his tea

The more composed Joshua appeared, the more unsettled Old Man Neal became.

Finally, after making a move in their chess game, he could not hold back any longer.

“I’m done playing “Old Man Neal snorted and could not help but make a sarcastic remark, “Some people just irritate me.”

Joshua replied calmly, “Aren’t you just angry because I didn’t bring back your beloved granddaughter?”

Upon hearing his words, Old Man Neal became even more furious. “Then why did you come back?”

“Should I leave? Joshua responded in a nonchalant tone, his gestures oozing elegance and indifference.

Old Man Neal was tempted to swing his cane at him.

This guy was infuriating!

He knew that both Joshua and Moses were unreliable, and Cynthia was still better. Property © of NôvelDrama.Org.

“Don’t get worked up. She’ll be in fiverton tonight. She’s coming with her dad,” Joshua said as he set down his teacup, carrying an air of nobility.

Upon hearing this, Old Man Neal froze. He inexplicably felt nervous and asked, “I remember Cynthia saying that she didn’t have a good relationship with her family. After you went to Nexuria, did you meet Cynthia’s family?”

“I did.” Joshua’s gaze deepened, adding, “Their relationship seems to have improved.”

Upon hearing his response, Old Man Neal relaxed slightly. However, he thought of another concern and frowned, asking How have you been getting along with them?”

“It was going fine. But halfway through the conversation, your beloved granddaughter kicked me out. We haven’t had a second conversation since,” Joshua spoke half–heartedly, slowly, and indifferently.

“Great job!” Old Man Neal praised.

Joshua remained silent.

He knew that even if he asked whether he was Old Man Neal’s biological grandson, the answer would still be no.

“Shouldn’t we prepare then? You’ve been married to Cynthia for two years and haven’t met her family. Now that her dad is corning, shouldn’t we make a good impression?” Old Man Neal was somewhat concerned about these matters.

Old Man Neal realized how poorly Joshua had handled things before. After all, he had married Cynthia without informing her family and had not followed proper etiquette.

It was truly embarrassing!

“No need. Cynthia won’t like it,” Joshua declined.

Old Man Neal and Moses exchanged perplexed looks.

Joshua noticed their gazes and raised an eyebrow. “What’s the matter?”

“I have reason to suspect that this is not the real Joshua, Moses commented, still as nonchalant as always.

“Me too.“Old Man Neal added.

Joshua’s eyebrow twitched slightly, realizing they were criticizing him.

“Get to the paint.”

“Throughout these past six months, you have never considered things from Cynthia’s perspective,” Old Man Neal stated bluntly. He had observed how the bastard Joshua had treated Cynthia poorly in these past six months, but at the time, he had not thought much of it, considering it a bottleneck in their relationship.

Later, Old Man Neal found out about Jayleen.
