Chapter 45 Promise?
Chapter 45 Promise?
Kalliyah's POV
Three weeks later.
I was still devastated about what happened between Alex and I. When I reached back to New York, it
turned the one person who has never hurt me, Carlos. He opened his arms without judging or asking
questions. That's what I loved about him, he's always there. I have been living with him too but I plan to
move out as soon as I get a new apartment. I was going to town today to look for one. Although know
I'd be extremely lonely since I don't have Grey with me anymore. He was still in Los Angles, with his
family. Even he had someone now. It seems like my life is bound to be miserable. I kind of expected the
fact that I'm never going to be truly happy. There was always going to be something or someone that
hurts me.
I still haven't started working either. Since I've being back most times I was weeping and the rest I'd go
to the park and paint. That helped a lot.
I walked into the kitchen and saw Carlos on his phone. He offered me a smile, which I returned. I went
and sat across from him and pop my head in my hands. I watched as he spoke his native language,
Spanish. I looked his features, Carlos is a good looking man. He has thick dark hair and dark brown
eyes. He has a nice cheekbone structure. He is rather a good looking man, it's such a shame he isn't
straight. I'd probably date him but of course, it would end bad, no one stays with me. Forever alone.
"Si, gracias." He said as he ended the call.
"Who was that?"
"That was Martin. He wants me to take a vacation and spend some time with him and his family so we
can get to know them." He sighed. Martin was his French boyfriend. I've only met Martin three times
since they started dating while I was away. But for the few times I've met him, I knew he was perfect for
my best friend.
"Oh, then why don't you?" I asked. I really wanted him to take some time. He spent too much time at
the dance studio.
"Well, I have the studio to think about," See. I smiled. "I have you to think about too. You being
through,"
I cut him off with my hands. I lifted it up. "No. I'm an adult I can take care of myself and the dance
studio will be found. Those little rug rats will be fine. You need to take a week off or maybe even two."
"But" he stuttered.
"But, nothing. You have me to help with the studio."
"NO, you're not ready to work as yet. You need rest." He stated.
"I've being resting for three weeks. I'm okay now." I sighed.
"No, you're still broken. I can see it in your eyes. It's killing you not to cry." I looked at Carlos as he Content © provided by NôvelDrama.Org.
spoke those words, he was right. I want to cry, I still cry myself to sleep. I guess he hears me even
though I put my head under the pillow. I guess he understands how it feels to be hurt my someone you
loved.
"You're right. I am still broken but I will always be. Everyone I come to love always hurts me. I always
get hurt." The tears started to fall from my eyes. Carlos got up from his seat.
He wrapped his hands around my frame. "That's not true. Not everyone who loves you hurts you. I've
never hurt you."
"You eventually will," I said through my sobs. He pats my back and rubs it gently.
"Never," he lifted my head up to his face. "How can I leave the person how acted as my girlfriend for
years until my parents couldn't take anymore and told me to stop the act." That made me smile a little.
Believe it or not all along his parents knew he was gay but wanted to know how long he'd keep up the
act.
I held up my pinky to him. "Promise?"
He smiled at placed his pinky in mine. "Pinky Promise." I laughed and he proceeded to wipe my tears.
I straighten up myself. "You're still going to visit Martin's family, though. Don't worry about me, I'll be
fine." I give him a smile to assure him.
"Okay, I will go but not before I sort of what to do with the studio." I lifted my head to speak but he lifted
his hands and stopped me. Damn, that's how it feels for someone to shut you up. "No, you will not
leave you in charge of the studio. I'll tell my students that I'm going on vacation, they will understand."
I sighed, "Okay." I gave in after all he wouldn't stop until I did.
"Great," he smiled and clapped his hands. "Now please make me some breakfast I'm hungry." He
laughed and walked out of his kitchen before I could answer him.
I smiled at his cockiness and started making our breakfast.
I didn't mind preparing meals, after all, I'm living here for free. I might as well do something to help the
poor guy. He's done so much for me, I don't think I can ever repay him. He's always being here and will
forever be. Hopefully.
