Master of his heart (Brielle and Max)

Chapter 1223

When Jack went all in and she couldn't muster even a single point, she couldn't help but loathe her own selfishness. But now, she felt relieved she had only given that one tiny piece of herself. Still, that one piece was enough to haunt her endlessly.

She should have known better than to hope his fiery passion would linger. She was always the one overlooked, so why did she dare to dream otherwise?

She should have buried her secret heartache deep.

"Look at me, just keep looking at me," she would silently plead, especially during those moments when tears streamed down her face because of him. Only when she saw that fiery emotion still flickering in his eyes could she find some semblance of peace. Craving attention this desperately wasn't healthy.

So, she had to despise him.

She shouldn't have started wishing he'd always keep her close.

When he got bored and wanted to discard her, she could bounce back quickly-she was used to it.

But why couldn't he even spare the children?

Did he ever love her, or was it all just a figment of her imagination?

Brielle's head throbbed, and her chest felt like it was on fire.

Myles had intentionally anchored Brielle's memories here, hoping she'd take down Jack herself. He thought Brielle's emotions were purely hatred, a consuming hatred, but he didn't really understand her. Neither did Jack, back then.

In his memories, Brielle was always the one being forced, never showing him any warmth. Every time they tangled in bed, if he pushed too hard, she'd retaliate with cold, cutting words.

He believed Brielle despised him more than anyone else in the world.

But hatred is still a feeling.

Now, Brielle clung to the windowsill, her chest burning like it was on fire.

Finally, unable to hold it in, she coughed up blood and passed out.

Kenzo immediately called for Jared. After Jared carried her to the bed, he fetched the island's only doctor.

The doctor examined Brielle and

said, "It's just emotional shock, probably triggered by bad

memories. Nothing serious, she just needs to rest."

Jared didn't say a word, just stared at Brielle's face, puzzled.

Irene, on the other hand, seemed amused, especially after Kenzo filled her in on Brielle and Jack's messy history. She couldn't help but chuckle.

"Jared, isn't it fascinating?"

Every time she asked questions like that, it was like driving a nail into Jared's heart.

It was his "fascination" that had separated 001 and Irene. She would remember that, even from the grave.

Even if she drank from the river of forgetfulness, she'd remember Jared's sins.

Jared was used to it. He simply asked, "What do you want to do?"

Irene sat down and looked at Kenzo.

"And you, darling? Don't you find it fascinating? want Arthur dead. If you kill him for me, I'll let Brielle live. You must be thrilled. Brielle has

forgotten what you did at the base, forgotten the ugliness you her.

Kenzo couldn't deny it he was indeed happy.

Human nature is selfish, and he knew Brielle now harbored hatred for Jack, itching for revenge.

If Brielle's memory hadn't turned out this way, she'd be hating him instead.

He was thankful to Myles.

Kenzo had lost the will to live at one point, but now he felt maybe he could stick around a little longer.Copyright Nôv/el/Dra/ma.Org.

"Alright, how do you want him to die?"

Irene laughed again, regaining her old fervor.

He took down his throwing knife, touching it reverently.

"I want him shot in the head in front of everyone."

A prince being publicly executed would cause a massive uproar.

North America would be thrown back into chaos, and Irene was more than ready for it.

Kenzo glanced at Brielle lying on the bed, his eyes softening, "Okay."
