Chapter 195
What they had believed to be a curse for decades turned out to be an act of retaliation
This shocked everyone in Terodt Village.
Nobody knew for sure whether something like a curse really existed or worked. There was no justification for the residents of Terodt Village to fight back.
Could they go to Steop Village and demand an explanation, blaining them for everything due to the curse?
The reason was far–fetched. Content held by NôvelDrama.Org.
However, if it was human retaliation, things were different.
Families that had been happy were torn apart when a family member who could have lived a long life passed away at fifty.
Everyone in Terodt Village was furious, and they wanted to go to Steop village with weapons to demand an explanation.
Stephanie stopped them, saying, “Everyone, calm down. I know this is very unacceptable, but what if Steop Village doesn’t admit it? Do you have any conclusive evidence?”
The villagers were furious.
“Many of our people have lost their lives over the years! Do you know how many families have suffered both physically and psychologically?!” one villager yelled.
“Yes! We are depressed when we think we will be separated from our loved ones before the age of 50!” another villager said.
“We don’t even dare to have children after getting married for that reason.”
“When pregnancy unexpectedly happened, we were happy about a new life but also saddened about the kid’s short lifespan.
“We have always believed this is a curse and a karma for our village. And now we are told it was an act of retaliation after decades. We want to avenge our loved ones‘ death!”
“The woman who cast the curse on us is still enjoying her life. She killed our people!”
“She deserves to die!”
“Yes! Kill her!”
“Kill her!”
They kept venting their frustration,
Stephanie understood how they felt..
She motioned for them to be quiet
Lola also appeased them, “Everyone, calm down. Stephanie was right. If we rush there and claim that Mia didn’t curse us but poison us, who will believe it?”
“So what? Anyway, we’re going to slaughter the village!”
“Mia is killing us. We want her to pay!”
“Yes, blood for blood!”

Chapter 193
They couldn’t calm down
Stephanie said, “If you rush to kill them now, you’ll just become as cruel as the people from Poadew and Steop Village. You have no justification!”
The people stopped barraging and listened intently.
Stephanie continued. “Not everyone in the village is a militant. Many people are not as bad as Mia, Gaven, and Zaiden. We’ll collect evidence, present it to them, and silence them! You want to fight with them. But isn’t it better not to put your life in danger but quit supporting them? They have more people than you. You will be killed there and even accused of occupying their village if you go there.”
Then someone said, “You’re so good at medicine. Just poison them to death!”
“That’s right. If you help us, we can get revenge easily!”
“You should have poisoned them all instead of paralyzing their nerves!”
Stephanie looked indifferently at the people who spoke in Clusian and said, “So, you want me to become a killer after I saved you? Why would I want to be a murderer?”
Someone remarked. “You came so far to save us because you wanted something from us, right? Aren’t you supposed to help us solve our problems?”
Lola reforted, “Mr. Zachmann saved me after I was abducted. They’re just passing by to check on me. Don’t be ungrateful! Stephanie discovered the parasite in us and figured out how to deal with it.”
For years, Terodt Village had been without a chief, but almost everyone listened to Louisa.
And now Lola held influence in Terodt Village because she was intelligent and skilled at raising parasites. She was like the. village chief to them.
Seeing that she had grown irate, the villagers shut their mouths,
Stephanie said quietly, “I understand your feelings, but I hope you can calmly deal with it. None of you are close to the age of 50, so it makes no big difference to wait a little bit longer to avenge yourselves. We’ll get the parasites out of our bodies before we go get even with them. It’s been a long day. You guys go get some rest. My mentor and I will discuss how to help you.”
ne went back to their cabins.
Lola also persuaded them, and soon everyone
Stephanie and the others sat around a bonfire.
Lola looked at Stephanie. T’d like to be an experiment. You can do anything to me.”
Stephanie nodded slightly. “I haven’t thought of a good way to expel parasites. With advanced equipment, we can locate the parasite in your body through scanning before extracting it for analysis. So, we can identify the kind of parasite with effectiveness. Will you go out with me?”
Lola nodded. “Yes”
Stephanie looked at Denver and Ronan and said, “Vincent and I will take Lola to Manville Hospital for testing. We’ll come back tomorrow evening.”
Denver nodded. “Go ahead. Those two villages might continue to cause trouble.”
Ronan sighed. “I didn’t expect to encounter such tricky problems here. But it’s good to save so many lives. This is a good deed. Stephie, you’ll be blessed!”
Denver glared at him. “What’s the point of saying that?”
He looked at Stephanie and said. “We’ll be waiting for you.
Stephanie nodded slightly. She packed her backpack and left with Vincent and Lola.
In the dark, they marched quickly to the exit, 6 miles from the village
Stephanie and Vincent’s cell phone signal had returned by the time they arrived.
After making a call, Vincent said to Stephanie and Lola, “We’ll take a break here. Zane will come to pick us up.”
Sitting on the ground, they found peace in the constant chirping of cicadas,
Twenty minutes later, a black Bentley arrived.
After the car stopped. Zane got out of the car and said respectfully, “Good evening, Mr. Fletcher, Mrs. Fletcher.”
“We’ll talk in the car,” said Vincent.
“OK.” Zane took the three backpacks and opened the door.
Lola was very observant. She sat in the p passenger seat, and Vincent and Stephanie in the back seat of the car.
Zane closed the door, put the backpacks in the trunk, got in the car, and started the engine.
Vincent asked, “Have you paid for the victims of the rescue team
Zane answered, “Yes, it’s all settled. The families of the victims were understanding.”
Vincent narrowed his eyes and said, “Tell them later on that their kids can come to work for Fletcher Group in the future.”
Yes. Mr. Fletcher”
Vincent then briefly told Zane what had happened these days.
Zane responded, “I’ll summon more men n once we get there.”
Vincent asked, “Did you get any updates on those people?”
Zane lifted the rearview mirror and said, “Our people found six cars heading for Curvine and contacted the police to inspect them at the checkpoint. Unfortunately, the police only found some useless charred hard drives, so the police didn’t detain them without proof”
Vincent narrowed his eyes and said, “They have been long alerted. Stop following them. Scour Cutvine for bases like Mount Silverlake.”
