Chapter 51
Chapter 51
Lianne hurriedly looked away again, but no matter where she looked, she saw couples being intimate
with each other.
Anyone not blind could see that these three couples had a great relationship.
Lianne once again felt awkward about her presence here.
This kind of couple’s gathering was unsuitable for her as an assistant. She did not know what was
going through her boss’s mind.
The three men were all sitting beside their wives while Zane and Lianne sat at both ends of the long
wooden table with a huge distance separating them.
Eugene pinched Rosa’s waist. Under everyone’s watchful eyes, he gave her a passionate French kiss.
“Honey, why are you so sweet? I can’t kiss you enough.”
There was nothing wrong with his words, but his tone was extremely ambiguous.
Rosa pinched him hard as she blushed and said, “Eugene, everyone is watching! Stop messing
around.”
Eugene kissed her on the cheek again. “Okay. I’ll listen to you. I won’t kiss you if you don’t want me
to.”
Although Lianne was married, she never had such intimacy with her husband. At this moment, Lianne
was blushing, and her heart was pounding. She really wanted to find a place to hide in.
However, the others seemed to be used to this kind of scene. Maddox even joked with a smile,” Zane,
aren’t you envious?”
Zane ate the food on his plate with grace. His face was calm, and he was not at all affected by the
others. “Intimacy between husband and wife is merely an act of procreation. Why should I be envious?”
Eugene was the first to disagree with him. “Zane, is procreation all you think about when your wife have
sex?! If that’s the case, it’s best you two get divorced as soon as possible. Don’t hold that poor girl
back.”

The three wives were also shocked by Zane’s remarks. They looked at Lianne and asked, “Ms.
Simpson, what do you think?”
Lianne, who had tried her best to minimize her presence, seriously thought about this profound
question under everyone’s watchful gaze.
She had seen many couples fall out of love and want to divorce but had to stay in their unhappy
marriage because of their children.
At this thought, Lianne felt that what Zane said made a lot of sense.
However, she did not want to spoil the fun of the three couples, so she said more euphemistically, “A
couple registers for marriage so that they can have sex legally. The purpose of sex is to satisfy their
biological needs, and procreation is the result of sex.”
“Pfft…” Jeremy was dumbfounded when he heard that. “Zane, no wonder she’s your assistant. She has
the same logic as you!”
None of them expected that Lianne would have such a thought and looked at her with a little more
interest.
Zane’s eyes also fell on Lianne with an inquiring look. Was this really Lianne’s opinion, or did she just
say that to go along with him? Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.
Eugene held Rosa and said, “Honey, I like to cling to you because I love you. It’s definitely not because
I want children. Don’t listen to what these two freaks say ”
Rosa glared at him. “No one will think you’re mute if you don’t speak.”
Eugene immediately shut up. The room became much quieter in an instant.
Rosa looked at Lianne. “Ms. Simpson, you don’t have a boyfriend, do you?”
She asked a question, but her tone was very certain.
Lianne understood what Rosa meant. Rosa wanted to say that Lianne only thought this way as she had
no experience being in a relationship. Thus, Lianne replied, “I’m married.”
Rosa really admired Lianne for being able to say such things even when she was married. “Do you
have a good relationship with your husband?”
“It’s alright.” Lianne smiled and did not intend to continue this topic.
After dinner, the card game officially began.
The three wives played while their husbands sat beside them and occasionally gave some pointers.
Only Lianne sat quietly about one meter behind Zane. She felt bored and fiddled with her fingers,
looking out of place with everyone else.
After finishing a round, Zane turned to look at Lianne. “Lianne, you should play!”
