Lost and Found: Return of My Mysterious Fiancee

Chapter 865: Simone Farrell Comes Home

Simone was caught off guard. After all these years away, her father still kept her photo, cherishing it as a memento. Her eyes brimmed with tears once again.

"Now that the Bailey family has fallen, there's still a lot of danger lurking outside. Living out there with Ella won't be peaceful. No one wants to return to the way things were," Tina reminded her, concern flickering in her gaze as she glanced at Ella.

Ella understood Tina's meaning perfectly. Deep down, she knew the Farrell family genuinely cared for her, treating her like one of their own. Logan had never once minded that she was Victor's daughter.

She tugged at Simone's sleeve and spoke earnestly, "Mom, I worked so hard to find you and reunite with you. I don't want to be separated again. I know you feel guilty toward Grandpa, but going back now and staying by his side is also a form of making amends. Grandpa has been so kind to me, even recognizing me as his granddaughter. That shows he still cares about you in his heart."

Simone wiped the tears from her face and said softly, "I miss home too. I want to be by Dad's side. Jared, take us home. If Dad doesn't want me there, I'll leave with Ella again."

Jared's expression softened. "Grandpa won't turn you away. He's been waiting for you to come back."

Carrying Simone in his arms, Jared headed to the car, with Tina and Ella following behind. Nathan drove through the dark night toward the Farrell estate.

At the YQ Laboratory gates, Peter Crispin was in tears, sniffles and sobs breaking through the silence.

Wraith looked at him with disgust. "Is this really necessary? Isn't this supposed to be a happy ending?"

Peter wiped his nose and snapped, "You don't understand! You're cold-blooded! You're not even qualified to talk to me!" Wraith: "..."

Cold-blooded? What nonsense. I'm way more compassionate than you.

At the Farrell estate, Jared's car had just pulled up to the entrance. The servants rushed out to greet them, all visibly relieved.

The day Jared had left in anger after Logan forcibly kept Stephanie at the house had cast a pall over the household. Logan had since lost his appetite, aging noticeably in just a few days. A heavy gloom had settled over the entire estate, leaving the servants walking on eggshells.

When they saw Jared carrying someone in his arms, they froze. Who was he holding? Wasn't Tina going to be upset?

But they quickly recovered. Having worked at the Farrell estate long enough, they knew better than to ask unnecessary questions.

One of the servants stepped forward and greeted Jared, "Young Master, Madam, welcome back."

Jared nodded. "Where's my grandfather?"

"He's waiting for you inside," the servant replied.

Without another word, Jared carried Simone inside.

---

Logan was seated on the sofa, occasionally rubbing his temples and letting out deep sighs.

Since Marie had left and Asher hadn't returned, the house had become eerily quiet. Jared and Tina were also nowhere to be found.

This sudden silence left Logan feeling hollow.

He hadn't wanted to keep Stephanie, but no one understood his pain. Of his four sons, only Asher remained. Jared was his only grandson, and Sophia was still too young. Their family line was dwindling.

He didn't like Stephanie, but if she were truly carrying a child of the Farrell family, he couldn't turn her away. They needed heirs.

Logan sighed heavily. Just as he opened his eyes, he saw Jared and Tina entering.

He paused, then stood up abruptly. "Jared, Tina, you're back?"novelbin

Before he finished speaking, his gaze fell on the person Jared was carrying. The night wind was cold, and Jared had wrapped Simone tightly, so Logan couldn't immediately see who it was. For a moment, he thought it was Marie. He said, "Did you bring Marie back? I know I wronged her. The night wind is chilly-take her to her room first. Then you and Tina can come to my study." Logan assumed Marie didn't want to see him and was holding a grudge, refusing to walk openly on Farrell grounds. He decided to have a proper talk with Jared and Tina later.

"It's not my mom," Jared replied. "It's someone else. Someone you've been hoping to see."

Simone's palms were clammy with sweat. Her body tensed, and she shrank back slightly.

Logan's brows furrowed deeply. A shadow crossed his eyes as he noticed Ella standing quietly in the corner, not daring to make a sound.

His feet felt rooted to the ground as a realization crept into his heart, though he didn't dare voice it. His voice turned heavy as he said, "Put her down. Let me see." Jared glanced at the woman in his arms. Simone's pale face flushed slightly with nervousness. Hearing Logan's voice made her nose sting with suppressed emotion. She nodded at Jared. This was something she had to face. She also wanted to see the father she had been estranged from for so many years. Gently, Jared removed the blanket covering her and helped her stand. This was the first time she had stood on her own in years.

Simone lifted her face, her eyes misty. Her voice trembled as she choked out, "Dad, I was wrong."

Logan's pupils contracted, his heart pounding violently. His breathing quickened as his gaze traced over the daughter he hadn't seen in so many years.

Her cheeks were sunken, her nose delicate, and faint wrinkles had formed at the corners of her eyes. But her eyes-those clear and bright eyes-were unmistakable.

"I didn't expect Jared to bring you back to me. I thought you'd long since died out there," Logan said, his sharp eyes glinting as his voice grew heavy.

"You were my most beloved youngest daughter. I had so many hopes for you, and you disappointed me." His eyes filled with tears, but he forced them back, refusing to let them fall.

Simone's breath caught in her chest. The weight of his words crushed her, and she couldn't meet his gaze. She lowered her head in shame.

But Logan didn't intend to let her off so easily. "Lift your head. Lowering it is a sign of cowardice. If Sydney were still alive, how heartbroken would she be to see you like this?"

"Back then, I forbade you from being with that man, but you defied me at every turn. You wouldn't listen. You failed me, and you failed Ella. She was just a child, yet she had to endure so much hardship, scheming, and even ended up like you- without a good marriage!"

Every word struck Simone like a hammer. She covered her face with both hands, her frail shoulders shaking violently as tears streamed through her fingers.

"Dad, it's all my fault. I don't deserve to face any of you. I came here today just to see you one last time. I know you'll never forgive me. Now that I've fulfilled my wish, I'll take Ella and leave immediately."
