Lost and Found: Return of My Mysterious Fiancee

Chapter 798: Let the Bullet Fly for a While

Elsa now treated Tina's words as absolute commands. Without a hint of hesitation, she nodded in agreement.

Only after responding did she look into Tina's eyes with a trace of doubt. "But... is it really okay to ignore what's happening online?"

Tina smiled faintly. "Let the bullet fly for a while."

Dexter came downstairs holding a stack of documents, his black-framed glasses reflecting a mysterious glint. "Phil Walker is at his wit's end. It's one thing to accuse us of abusing our power, but now he's claiming the court is taking bribes. It won't be long before someone higher up suppresses his nonsense."

Hayden, sprawled on the couch, shifted to make room for him. "Why not just release the evidence we already have?"

"Go all in-leave them with no room to argue."

As soon as he said that, Nathan shot him a look as if he were a fool. "Did Kelly chasing you around make you lose your brain? Tina's goal is to bring down the Bailey family behind this. If you release all the evidence now, how will you lure out the forces supporting them?"

"But we can't just do nothing." Thinking about the heated discussions online, Hayden clicked his tongue in frustration.

How could people be so gullible, believing whatever they're told?

Jared's eyes flickered with suppressed emotion. He glanced at Tina, and when his wife looked his way, his peripheral vision swept toward Hayden.

The message was clear: This guy isn't too bright-he's a lost cause.

Tina: I feel the same way.

Dexter, observing the scene, covered his face with his hand, feeling utterly embarrassed. Finally, he couldn't take it anymore and punched Hayden in the arm. "Who said we're doing nothing? I've already organized everything. We just need Tina's approval to release it."

Hayden rubbed his head, muttering complaints under his breath but not daring to voice them aloud. Hearing this, his eyes lit up, and he chased after Dexter. "What? What is it? Let me see!"

Dexter had no intention of hiding it, so he didn't hold the documents tightly.

Hayden easily tugged a few sheets out of his hand.

He flipped through them, scanning carefully, his eyes widening. "This... this is Phil Walker's bank records?"

"Serena, did you hack into the bank system?"

Tina rolled her eyes. "Did you forget what we're doing? Do I still need to hack anything?"

Hayden froze. Oh, right!

Their task was to investigate the hidden family, and Phil Walker was related to Victor by marriage.

Looking into him was as simple as filing a request-practically effortless.

His face flushed with embarrassment. He grinned sheepishly, lowering his head to examine the documents more closely under the group's judging gazes.

There wasn't much to see. Aside from his fixed monthly salary and routine expenses, Phil Walker's transactions rarely exceeded a thousand dollars.

Then he turned to the next page. "Wait, what the-" His previously uninterested expression shifted to shock as his eyes locked onto the page. His fingers trembled, and he cursed under his breath. Nathan, sitting nearby, heard the commotion and glanced over.

His icy eyes swept across the numbers, and even he froze for a moment. He let out a barely audible hiss before speaking a minute later. "Phil Walker is... crying thief while being the thief himself." Elsa, no fool herself, immediately caught on after hearing that.

She had been curious about the contents of the documents, but now everything clicked. "Phil Walker... took bribes too?"

Hayden nodded absentmindedly, his expression dazed. "Not only did he take bribes, but he took a lot of them!"

"But why are so many people sending him money? And the amounts aren't small!"

He couldn't understand it. He really couldn't.

"Could it be that the money isn't actually meant for Phil Walker?"

Dexter nudged his arm, his gaze shifting toward Tina.

Tina, noticing the looks from the group, finally put down her phone and sat up straight, leaving Jared's embrace. "You're right-it's not for him. The other set of records in your hand belongs to Victor. A large portion of the money Phil Walker received was ultimately transferred to Victor."

"We also investigated the identities of the people sending the money," Jared added, pulling another file from behind him. "These people come from all walks of life, even within the system itself. But they all share one common trait." "What trait?" Hayden asked in surprise.

Tina explained, "Within a certain timeframe after transferring money to Victor, these people all experienced a noticeable rise in social status."

Jared nodded and continued while Tina took a sip of water. "Not only that, but they also mysteriously acquired the secret techniques of the hidden family."

At that moment, Nathan flipped through a stack of photos within the file.

The images depicted wounds-flesh torn and mangled. These weren't injuries caused by sharp weapons.

They looked more like the aftermath of a brutal beating by someone skilled in martial arts.

Another set of photos showed the people who had transferred money to Phil Walker. Their bloodshot eyes and exaggeratedly muscular physiques gave them an unnatural appearance.

Hayden felt a chill run down his spine. "What is Victor, some kind of genie in a wishing well? Handing out martial arts training like a coach? Why do these people look like zombies straight out of a movie?" Nathan frowned. "Why haven't these photos ever surfaced online?"

In the age of big data, even the slightest incident could attract widespread attention.

Yet, the stack of photos in his hand was thick, and there hadn't been a whisper of them online. It made no sense.

Dexter, however, wasn't surprised. "Why else? Victor must have suppressed them. But Serena, are you planning to release all of this?"

Tina shook her head. "Not all of it-not yet. Phil Walker accused others of taking bribes, so let's let him taste his own medicine first. I still need to visit the lab tomorrow. Nathan, you and Hayden keep an eye on this matter." She paused. "As for the rest, we'll release it at an opportune time."

There were still a few days until the next court session. She wanted to see how Victor would respond this time.

On the other side, in the Bailey family residence:

"Victor! Victor!"novelbin

Phil Walker's panicked voice echoed through the room. He had rushed over so quickly that he was only wearing a tank top. One of his slippers had fallen off along the way, and he was drenched in sweat as he burst into the room. Before he could take in his surroundings, a flash of pale skin darted across his vision.

A woman's scream, followed by Victor's furious roar, made his ears ring. "Get out!"

"Victor, I-I have an urgent matter!"

Phil Walker stammered, instinctively turning his head.

Halfway through the motion, he remembered his own predicament and hurriedly turned back, keeping his gaze fixed on the floor, not daring to glance at the bed. Victor's voice grew even angrier. "Wait outside!"
