Living With My Lady Boss

Chapter 28

“You want me to go with you?”

“Yes, I’m a little scared.”

Wilbur sighed to himself. That girl was quite a handful.

It was unfair to say that she was faking it, but she seemed pretty calm the previous night in the face of so many outlaws.

However, at the sight of Faye’s pitiful expression, Wilbur had no choice but to say yes.

Faye brightened up at once. “Alright. I’ll come to get you at night. Please be my driver and bodyguard, then. Bye!”

Without getting a response, she left the house.

Wilbur shook his head and headed to the central garden to practice his martial arts.

Before long, a day had passed, Wilbur was already waiting in the living room for Faye when she came

home.

“Give me a second, Boss.” Faye rushed upstairs and changed into a black evening gown.

The V–neck dress showed her cleavage. She also wore a pearl necklace. The gown reached her ankles and radiated an air of charming maturity that was simply breathtaking.

Wilbur nodded and commented, “You look great.”

Faye was overjoyed to be praised by Wilbur. She walked up and held him by the arm. “Let’s go.”

However, Wilbur stopped her and said, “I’ll take a pass. People have known who I am now after your speech at the wedding. If I go to a place like that, it’ll cause a scene.”

“Well, what should we do, then?” Faye had not thought of that, but it was true that Wilbur would be sure to attract attention wherever he went as the owner of Cape International. That was the last thing he wanted.

Just then, Wilbur exhaled softly, and his face began to glow with a silver glint. The glow faded in seconds, and Wilbur’s face had turned into something completely different. That person still looked a little like Wilbur, but he was obviously a different person.

Faye covered her mouth in shock, staring at him in disbelief.

Wilbur smiled. “Don’t worry. I’m just creating a fake image with my spiritual energy. It’s just an illusion. I’m

still me.” This content © Nôv/elDr(a)m/a.Org.

Faye had no idea how Wilbur had done it, but she had long accepted the fact that Wilbur was definitely more powerful than ordinary people. Maybe she was already starting to be a fan of his.

“Let’s go.” Wilbur led the way this time, and the two of them sped off in a Mercedes Benz $400.

Half an hour later, they arrived at a private club. After they parked the car, someone led Faye inside with Wilbur following behind her. It was really as if he was her bodyguard.

They walked past the patio and arrived at the entrance of a hall. The usher led them in and then left.

Wilbur followed Faye into the hall.

The hall was lavishly decorated and furnished with vintage–looking furniture. Some of the furniture was

actually vintage, too.

A few antiques were placed on a shelf to the side. Wilbur scanned the surroundings and noticed that there were some fakes mixed in.

That was normal. Anyone would go to great lengths to take care of something good.

At the moment, there were quite a few people in the hall, mingling around with glasses of champagne in

their hands.

Wilbur scanned the crowd and said, “Go do your thing. I look around myself. There’s food here too. Don’t worry about me.”

Faye nodded. She did have a deal to negotiate with some people there.

After Faye left, Wilbur came to the buffet table and started getting some food to eat.

Just then, a man in his early twenties walked past Wilbur. He observed Wilbur closely and said, “Who let a bumpkin dressed up like this come in?”
