Chapter 33
Chapter 33
The room was so quiet. Neither Scarlet nor Lenny wanted to break the silence.
They had never spent enough time together to get to know each other. After they got married, Lenny
immediately flew abroad.
Lenny didn't like Scarlet and didn't want to face her, so he left. Scarlet was aware of it.
During that year, she lived a very comfortable life. The villa didn't have that many rules since Lenny
wasn't there, and the servants took care of her. Her life as Mrs. Foster had been carefree and had
allowed her to stay away from the troubles of the Brown family.
But she didn't want the marriage to last because it was unfair to Lenny. So she decided to ask him for a
divorce.
When Scarlet heard from Yasmin that Lenny had a close relationship with another woman abroad, she
knew that the opportunity that she had been waiting for had come.
She wanted to be the first to bring up the topic of divorce so that she would look cool in front of Lenny.
But unexpectedly, she ended up losing her virginity to Lenny and getting pregnant by him.
But she had no regrets at all. She was grateful to Lenny for giving her this child. With her baby, she
wouldn't feel that she was alone in the world.
But she was afraid that Lenny would take away her only family. This text is property of Nô/velD/rama.Org.
Just then, someone knocked on the door.
"Sir, Miss Marshall had a nightmare. She has been looking for you since she woke up." The servant
spoke helplessly.
Knitting his brows, Lenny took a look at Scarlet. She closed her eyes, pretending to be asleep.
Lenny knew that she wasn't really asleep because of her rapid breathing.
He stood up and left. Before shutting the door, he turned to look at his ex-wife one last time.
She was such a sensible and considerate woman. She knew that he should be with Rosaline at this
time, so she didn't want to make things difficult for him, even though he had told her that he wouldn't
leave until she fell asleep.
When they were married, he had never wanted to know more about Scarlet. He just ignored her and
acted as if she didn't exist. But now that their marriage was over, he couldn't help being curious about
her.
It seemed that she attracted him in many ways.
When Lenny went to Rosaline's bedroom, he found her huddled up in one corner of the bed, her eyes
red with tears.
"One of the servants told me you had a nightmare. Are you okay?"
"I dreamed that my sister kept hitting me. Dad disliked me and abandoned me." She sobbed and
looked at him with pitiful eyes. Her cheeks and nose were red, suggesting that she had been crying for
some time. "Lenny, can you sleep beside me tonight?"
Lenny was used to sleeping on his own. He had tried to share a bed with her before, but after ten
minutes, he got up and went to his room.
He wasn't used to lying on the same bed as Rosaline. She always rubbed her body against his, as if
she was enticing him to have sex with her.
Lenny was silent. He thought about a way to refuse without upsetting Rosaline.
In the end, Rosaline said, "I know you are not used to sleeping in the same bed as I am, but you will
adapt to it sooner or later. Maybe we should try it some other night. But will you kiss me before you
leave?"
Hearing this, Lenny felt a little repulsed.
"Lenny..." Rosaline pleaded softly.
At this moment, Drake entered the room in haste. "Apologies for the interruption, sir, but there seems to
be something wrong with this document. You need to deal with it right away."
"I'll be right there," Lenny immediately replied. "Be good and go to bed, okay? I'll ask Dalia to keep you
company."
Then, he stood up and left without looking back.
Rosaline was so angry that she clenched her fists. "What? You don't want to have sex with me, and
you don't even want to share a bed with me. That means you are indeed impotent."
If Lenny was really impotent, would she really want to spend the rest of her life with him?
Rosaline took a look around at the luxuriously decorated bedroom. She didn't want to abandon such a
lavish life now. It didn't matter even if she and Lenny didn't sleep together.
If she wanted to have sex, she could go find another man to satisfy her.
Lenny walked to the study but wasn't in the mood to go over the documents. Instead, he raised his
head and asked, "Drake... Do you know what usually makes girls cry?"
Drake was a bit taken aback by the question, which he found difficult to answer.
However, he was more experienced in relationships than Lenny. After all, he had been in love twice or
thrice in his life. Lenny didn't even have any interest in women.
"Well, they normally cry when they're sad, aggrieved, or scared. Sometimes, they cry because they're
moved or happy. You know, tears of joy."
"I see."
Lenny frowned slightly. He knew so little about women.
Most of the people around him were men, and the one he met with the most was Drake. He had never
found women interesting, so he didn't know how to deal with them properly.
After meeting Rosaline, Lenny thought that all women cried like she did. But it seemed that Scarlet was
entirely different.
She was very considerate, which made people drawn to her. Between Scarlet and Rosaline, Scarlet
was more likable.
