Chapter 42 The True Face of Queen Kane
Chapter 42 The True Face of Queen Kane
Atlas looked at Beckett, who was still bowing, with no expression on his face.
From the moment Beckett took out his gun and aimed it at him, he was on the Atlas' blacklist. Atlas had
many ways to make Beckett die silently that not even the medical examiner could identify find out
anything.
However, Beckett was one of the twelve followers under Queen Kane, so Atlas decided to spare his
life.
Beckett certainly didn't know that he was almost killed by Atlas.
However, Atlas would not forgive him easily.
"Apologize to me? You're not enough!"
Atlas said slowly. He raised his head slightly, and only a trace of Emperor Cosmos' majesty was
enough to make ordinary people like Beckett obey to him.
"What! He rejected Mr. Jackman's apology!" Gavin suddenly found that after meeting Atlas, all his
previous notions were overturned.
"Atlas rejected Mr. Jackman's apology!" Shelly repeated Gavin's words mechanically. Her brain
seemed to be short of charge.
Even Viviana felt at a loss, as she could not accept such a huge amount of information all of a sudden.
Only Evelyn's eyes became brighter.
Beckett looked at Atlas with a deep shock in his eyes.
In Beckett's eyes, Atlas was like a giant. He was so tall that no one dared look directly at him.
He was just a common person and could only obey him!
When Beckett heard he didn't deserve a chance to apologize to Atlas, he didn't get angry at all.
Instead, he bowed again with a pious face.
"I know my status is low, but Mr. Lincoln, please forgive me. I'm willing to take out twenty million as
compensation to you!"
Twenty million!
Gavin rolled his eyes and almost fainted.
Shelly goggled directly, regardless of her image. Even Evelyn and Viviana couldn't help opening their
mouths in surprise!
Atlas glanced at Beckett and said, "Fifty million!"
What!
Gavin and others wanted to pinch themselves to make sure if this was real. They felt that they had a
serious lack of imagination. Twenty million was not enough for Atlas. He asked for fifty million from
Becket Jackman!
Beckett was gonna refuse! He would definitely refuse!
However, what made Gavin and others even more dumbfounded was that Beckett not only didn't
refuse, but he looked excited, as if he had gotten lucky!
"Okay, I ask someone to transfer it to Mr. Lincoln's card right away!" Beckett agreed without hesitation.
Then, Beckett remembered Jennie's instructions and said with an ingratiating smile, "Mr. Lincoln, since
this matter is settled, I'll send you to Nanin to see Mister Kane now!"
"Okay." Atlas nodded, and then he looked at the petrified Viviana and the others behind him, a bit
worried.
"Send them back. If anything happens to them, I'll blame on you!" Atlas said coldly.
"Don't worry, Mr. Lincoln. Whoever dares to mess with your friends shall be my enemy. I promise they
won't see the sun tomorrow!" Beckett regained his domineering manner as a big shot in the city.
"Let's go!" After saying that, Atlas changed his clothes in the dressing room.
Beckett shouted to his men who were agape, "Why are you still standing there? Send Mr. Lincoln's
friends back!"
" If anything happens to them, you know the consequences!"
The young men nodded in fear, "Yes, yes, Mr. Jackman, don't worry. We will ensure the safety of Mr.
Lincoln's friends!"
……
……
In Nanin, in Queen Kane's Villa.
Beckett personally drove Atlas here.
Jennie opened the door for Beckett with an expressionless face.
"Jennie, I already asked Mr. Lincoln for forgiveness. Don't be angry!" Beckett said with a flattering
smile.
In front of these people, Beckett, the big shot of Lanceham, was the most humble doormat.
If the people in Lanceham saw this scene, they would definitely be shocked!
Jennie glared at Beckett and snorted, "Beckett, you should be grateful that Mr. Lincoln has spared you.
You are so stupid to offend the honored guest of the master!"
"Mr. Lincoln, please!" Jennie's attitude was completely different from the last time she saw Atlas. She
was extremely respectful throughout the whole process.
"Did Queen Kane feel better?" Atlas asked.
"There was a bout. The master is resting in the bedroom now!" Jennie answered.
"I'll have a look."
"Please!" Jennie immediately led the way.
Beckett cautiously asked, "Jennie, can I leave now?"
Jennie said coldly, "Wait outside. You have to send Mr. Lincoln back later!"
Beckett was very reluctant, but he didn't dare refuse, "Okay, okay, I'll wait outside!"
In the bedroom, Queen Kane with a pale face was lying weakly on the bed. All text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.
This time, she didn't wear a veil, so Atlas saw her face clearly.
Queen Kane was around forty years old, but she was well maintained. Even Atlas could not tell her
exact age.
Atlas thought that she wore a veil all day because she was too ugly, but in fact, the Queen Kane was
very beautiful.
She was no less beautiful than Evelyn and Viviana, and because of her age, Queen Kane was more
mature than the two girls.
Jennie called softly, "Master, Mr. Lincoln is here!"
Queen Kane opened her eyes and looked at Atlas. She tried her best to manage a smile and muttered
weakly, "Mr. Lincoln, please forgive me. I can't get up to greet you!"
"It's alright." Atlas said flatly.
"You have to be treated as soon as possible. You're suffering a longer time and feeling more painful
than ever before."
Jennie said in surprise, "You're absolutely right. Every time my master has an attack, I record the
specific characteristics, hoping that it is useful for the doctor. The pout of my master's illness is getting
longer and longer, and it put her in agony. Mr. Lincoln. Please treat my master as soon as possible!"
Jennie bowed.
"Where are the medicinal materials I need?" Atlas asked.
"Here!" Jennie led the way.
In another empty room, there was a table of herbs.
Jennie said, "We really can't find the 500-year-old one. The oldest one is 350 years old, and the rest
are about 100 years old!"
"Okay, you can go out first. I'll start making the elixir right away!"
Jennie did not leave. Instead, she asked suspiciously, "Mr. Lincoln, I've already prepared a alchemy
furnace and a special room for you!"
"No need. A true alchemist never needs an alchemy furnace."
Atlas waved his hand and Jennie retreated in surprise.
The alchemy furnace was just a container used for even heating. As long as one was proficient in
controlling flames, he could achieve the effect of the alchemy furnace.
As for flames, to the Cultivator, that was only a manifestation of energy.
Looking at the herbs, Atlas deeply felt that the Spiritual Energy on Earth was barren.
No one in the circle of Cultivation would take one more look at these herbs, but they were rare on
Earth.
Originally, Atlas asked for 500-year-old medicinal ingredients to make a Foundation Pill which could
make Queen Kane alive and kicking again.
Although these herbs could also cure Queen Kane, but she needed Atlas' help with acupuncture and
should keep recuperating in the future.
