Chapter 916 The Woman He Loved (Part Two)
Chapter 916 The Woman He Loved (Part Two)
Lawrence frowned at her disrespectful behavior and said in a cold voice, "What else do you want to
know since you have already seen it?" Lawrence then remembered that Aria and Charlotte were here
to have lunch and they would go shopping later this afternoon.
He looked at Aria impatiently and said dryly, "If you want to have lunch, go find another table."
"No, I won't!" Aria answered stubbornly and she then shouted to the waiter, "Two orders of steak!"
"Okay. Wait a minute, please," the waiter answered politely.
The atmosphere became very embarrassing so everyone kept silent. It was as if the air had been
frozen.
After a while, Aria broke the silence and directly asked Anna, "Miss Anna, are you Lawrence's friend?"
She was very bold.
"Yes, I am," Anna answered calmly.
"What type of friend?" Aria asked again.
"A close friend," Anna answered unhurriedly. She could already read what was in Aria's mind.
"I am very familiar with Lawrence's private life and I know almost all of his friends. How come I never
heard about you?" Aria asked skeptically. 'Who on earth is this woman?' Aria thought.
"You two live together?" Instead of answering Aria's question, Anna turned to Lawrence and asked. Belongs to NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.
Lawrence didn't answer. He remained silent and his face seemed calm. None of them could guess
what he might be thinking.
"Yes," it was Aria who replied firmly. Well, she was only telling the truth.
"So, are you his woman?' Anna asked again.
"Yes," Aria said.
To her surprise, Anna didn't get angry. Instead, a mocking smile appeared at the corners of her mouth.
"What's so funny about it?" Aria asked with irritation in her voice. Charlotte also couldn't understand
Anna's reaction. So, taking Aria's side, she said, "Miss Anna, since you already know that Lawrence
and Aria are together, it's only normal that you keep distance from Lawrence, right?"
"I am afraid that..." Anna paused for a while then turned her smiling eyes to Aria and continued, "The
person who should keep distance from Lawrence is not me but you Aria."
The way she enunciated her last words sounded like a warning to Aria.
Aria was confused, so she stared at Anna, hoping to read something from her eyes.
Now Anna was certain that Aria didn't know anything about Lawrence's past.
"Maybe it's the right time I tell you who I really am," Anna said with a confident smile on her face. She
then took a sip of coffee. She thought that from Lawrence's attitude towards this woman, he wouldn't
mind even if she exaggerated a little. She was confident that he wouldn't blame her.
Aria and Charlotte looked at Anna with a bewildered expression. They were both waiting for her to
continue.
"The woman that Lawrence will marry is only me and not you," Anna boasted. She took a glance at
Aria before she continued, "My father is the CEO of the BD Investment Group. We have about the
same social influence and status with the Chu family. Our marriage will only do good to both of our
families. Do you think you have a better family background than me?"
Her question made Aria collapse. When it came to family background, she had no clout at all. She had
been living with her mother alone and everyone knew what kind of a life they lived. Even Lawrence and
Charlotte knew it. She was indeed inferior to this outstanding and noble woman in front of her.
As she saw Aria's embarrassed expression, a triumphant smile appeared on Anna's face. However,
she wasn't satisfied yet. She wanted to embarrass Aria more so that she would retreat and give up on
Lawrence.
Anna turned to Lawrence with a smile. In a sweet voice, she asked, "Lawrence, do you think it would
be better if we tell Aria how you proposed to me in the university? Remember? You once promised me
that I am the only person you will love the most and I will be the only woman in your life."
Anna's words saddened Aria so much. She felt that her heart shrank upon hearing her words. Although
she didn't witness it personally, she could still imagine how grand and romantic it must be. She had
been with Lawrence for quite a long time but he had never promised such things on her. It turned out,
his promises had already been given to this woman. Aria felt so stupid to believe that he would love her
wholeheartedly. She now realized that she was wrong, totally wrong. This woman was deeply hidden in
his heart and she was the most precious for him.
Lawrence didn't say a word. Instead, he stood up and walked beside Anna. Then, in a tender voice, he
said, "Let's go."
"Okay," Anna replied sweetly. She was judicious, so she could tell the annoyance on Lawrence's face.
She picked up her bag but before she left, she looked at Aria and said, "Miss Aria, I just returned home
a few days ago. I don't care what happened to Lawrence when I was away but since I am back now,
you should know what to do from now on." Then she added, "Lawrence and I are public figures and I
don't wish to hear any gossip about us. So, please stay away from him. He already has me beside
him."
Just as she was done talking, Lawrence grabbed her and pulled her out of the restaurant.
For Anna, Lawrence's behavior was out of anger because she could feel it.
But in Aria's eyes, it was love because she believed that Lawrence loved Anna.
