Chapter 75
Sofia Andrew
Something is strange about this day. Isaac is not in the company, and when I asked him, he told me that he had pending matters. He's been acting strange lately. On the other hand, Amelia is nowhere to be seen, which is also strange. She has been disappearing more frequently, claiming that she is in court, but I have a feeling that she is lying to me. My gut tells me that those two are involved in something suspicious.
I decided to go to Lee Andrew's to monitor the new orders that are about to be released and finish the new designs for the new collection. We are doing well in France with sales, and we can no longer keep up with so many orders. It makes me so happy. Sales have also gone up at Patricia's store. I was right after all; I think she was just influenced by Elisa, but she is good at business.
I miss Angel a lot. Tomorrow is our anniversary, and I don't think he'll arrive on time; in fact, he told me that he was going to be late and possibly arrive after the anniversary. For four years, it was just another date for us, but I thought it was going to be different this year. I was also thinking that it's time for him to know that I am the owner of Let-Tech. He has put a lot of effort into this relationship, and I don't want to ruin it by hiding things from him. Besides, what's the worst that can happen? He'll get over it, but I'm worried that he'll get bothered knowing that I own another company and how high the demand is.
My day passes between fabrics, orders, and calls from Amelia and Isaac. Thank God that at Andrew & Leffman, Diether has everything under control. Mary calls me out of the blue to have a girls' day out, which I found very strange, but I did not complain.
She gave me a bridal facial massage that included all the services, and then we went to the salon to get a manicure and pedicure. The most adorable thing was seeing Bella imitating us. Then after that, we went shopping, and I stopped by a baby clothing store, where I got overly excited and bought almost everything in unisex colors since I didn't know if the baby would be a boy or a girl. I sent the photos to Angel, but he didn't answer me. What is he so busy with now?
"Dear, stop scowling at your phone. Why don't you pick up some new lingerie?" Mary offered when she noticed my reaction.
I blinked at the lingerie and at her. "Mary, I'm pregnant, and in a few months, my clothes won't fit; I'll look like a barrel with them," I complained with a pout.
Mary lets out a laugh. "You never know when you will need it, and with a husband like yours, it is better to be prepared."
"With Angel, it will take me longer to choose than for him to take it off."
"The fact that he got you pregnant the first time is enough proof," I laughed, but I know I must be as red as a tomato. "Look, I think this one suits you."
She showed me a white, sexy pair of underwear and a matching silk robe and pushed me to try them on. It doesn't look so bad on me; I think I look sexy, and my breasts are getting bigger every day. I'm sure Angel is going to like it.
Mary saw it and said that I should take it and that I looked good in it, so I chose it and three other outfits. And then it dawned on me that I am a fashion designer with a store-a fast-growing one at that-so why haven't I created an intimate clothing line yet? I mentally noted adding it to the next collection.
I sent Angel a black lace outfit to see if he liked it, but there has been no response. Is he testing my patience or what? With the lack of response from him, my mood turned sour.
When I arrived at the apartment, I was surprised that Carmen was not there, and she left a note that she would not be coming today. Like I said, something strange was happening.
While I ponder what's happening, I receive the call I have been waiting for all day. I let it ring for a minute before answering it.
"Hello, my love, my temptress." Angel greeted me with a grin, and I just scowled at him.
"You finally remember me? I thought you had already forgotten about me."
"I could never forget about you, Sofi. I see that you bought too many things for the baby."
My mood lightened up a bit at the mention of the baby. "I liked everything from this store, and I didn't know what or how to choose, so I just decided to buy everything I liked. That way, we'll have more options."
"I agree. By the way, I like the black outfit; you almost made me want to come home when I saw it. Do you have it on?" He asked in a deep voice, and I shook my head.
"When you decide to come home, I might try it on as a welcome gift, and I might also let you take it off me."
Angel groaned on the other line. "The trip has been a little complicated for me, but I promise that when I arrive, I will reward you well."
"Does that mean you won't be here tomorrow?" I asked, and I couldn't hide my disappointment when he nodded. "I thought we could spend our anniversary together this year."
"I'm sorry, my love. I swear I would do anything to be there, but it got out of hand. But I want to ask you a favor. Tomorrow, I need you to check something at an address. I'm going to send the driver to take you there." "That is not necessary, Angel; I can drive there, but what do you want me to check?"
"I prefer Sam to take you, and that's not up for discussion. He's going to pick you up at noon."
"Well, if you ask with that demanding attitude, how can I say no? But where will I go?" I asked again in curiosity.
"It's just around the corner. Love, I have to go now. Take care of yourself and our snail, okay?"
He hung up on me without saying 'I love you', 'I miss you', or anything, and it upset me, so that night I slept with a heavy heart, hoping that tomorrow would be better.Property © of NôvelDrama.Org.
'Good morning, happy anniversary, my love.' was Angel's message when I woke up, and I scoffed. Now he remembers that I am his love.
I typed a reply with an annoyed face. 'Good morning, Mr. Leffman. I hope it's worth it that you are not here today.'
'I think it will be worth it not to wake up with you today.' I read his response and frowned. Does he want to die? I haven't replied yet since another message came.
'But I hope it is the last time I'll wake up without you by my side. I love you.'
I sighed, and the disappointment in me vanished. 'I love you too.'
I woke up feeling tired and hungry because I was so upset that I didn't eat dinner. I called the company, and no one is in their position. So everyone decided to take the day off and didn't let me know?
My family isn't answering either; it seems like the earth has swallowed them.
My phone rang, and I saw Sam's name. "Good morning, ma'am. I wanted to know if you were ready."
I looked at the time and started to prepare. "Ah, yes, I'm just about to get ready. Aren't you a little too early?"
"The boss warned me not to be late."
I'm ready in half an hour, and I'm inside the car, but Sam refuses to tell me where I need to go, and I don't insist because I know he won't tell me anything. He's that loyal to his boss.
"Sam, this is Angel's residence." I noticed, but he didn't stop at the building and continued to the end of the complex, where I saw three beautiful houses.
"Wow, I hadn't come to this side, Sam. What are we doing here?" I asked in awe,
"I don't know, ma'am. I just follow orders." He answered and stopped at an extremely beautiful house that almost took my breath away.
It looks like something out of a story; it is black with white and gray and has turquoise tones. It has two stories and has a huge garden, which I fell in love with.
I didn't even realize that Sam opened the door for me, and I got out of the car, still starstruck by the house.
"How can something so beautiful exist?
"I'll take that as a sign that you like the house," a voice from behind me said before I felt familiar arms hugging me from behind, and he was none other than my beloved.
"Angel!" I almost screamed in surprise before turning to hug him. I loved the feeling of being in his arms again. "You didn't tell me you arrived!"
"Where's the surprise if I told you? Surely, you didn't think that I was going to leave you alone on our first decent anniversary, did you?"
I lightly smacked his chest. "I was sad and upset because I thought you weren't going to make it," I said, and I kissed him again. "What are we doing here?"
He turns me around, so I am facing the house. "From what I heard, you liked the house."
"I love it; it's beautiful, and if it's like that on the outside, it must be twice as beautiful on the inside."
"Well then, go see her." I was stunned when he showed me some keys. "Surprise! Happy anniversary, my love."
I was speechless for a moment, and I opened and closed my mouth like a fish. "Angel, did you buy us a house?!" I asked in excitement and jumped a few times. "And this time, it is beautiful!"
"This time, I want you to be happy. This time, the house is about you because you are my home."
She gave me the keys, and I tried to open the door. "Angel, it's not opening," I whined after a few attempts, and he laughed.
"That's because it has a very good security system." He showed me the system, and I instantly recognized it, but how is it possible? Nothing is set up without my authorization.
"Isaac, no wonder he was busy." I thought out loud and answered my own question.
"Don't scold him now; I made it clear to him that you couldn't find out. Plus, you know the system very well."
"Because I created it." It was too late to take it back, and I paled.
"You created it?" he repeated with an unreadable expression on his face. What do I do now?! "Sofia, is there anything you want to tell me before we enter our new home?"
Maybe, but please don't get angry. Believe me, I thought about it a lot, but I couldn't find how to say it because..." I trailed off because how could I tell him that I didn't trust him enough to tell him about it? "Because... Well, I am..."
"The owner of Let-technology?" He finishes, and I swallow deeply before nodding slowly. "Surprise?"
"Why did you not tell me?" he asked, and I bit my lip, not wanting to offend him. "Don't you trust me?"
"I do, but I... I don't know... I guess I was afraid that you would want to claim something from it, and then, after everything that has happened, I thought that no man would like his wife to be someone so influential and wealthy," I nervously said, and he didn't say anything right away. After a while, Angel sighed and took my hands. "Sofia, I love your intelligence, but I don't like that you hide things from me. We were supposed to start without lies or deception."
"I know. I'm sorry. Can you forgive me? Because I love you too much to be angry, especially today." I pleaded with a pout to make a man fall.
"Are you trying to convince me with pouts and tears? That's childish," he said while shaking his head.
"I just don't want us to fight. I know I did wrong and I should have told you. I am very sorry for not trusting you." I apologized with every sincerity I had in me.
"How are we supposed to have a happy marriage if you hide important things from me?" I didn't say anything because he had the right to be upset. He pulls me closer to him. "I forgive you, but with two conditions: the first is that you wear that sexy outfit that you showed me, and the second is that you promise me that you will not hide anything from me again."
"I promise." I nodded eagerly and sighed in relief. That was easy; I expected us to argue or fight.
"Mrs. Leffman, let's go see our new home." He turned around, and I told him to give me the code, and he gave me mine. We created a password, and it gives us access to the house. After that, I used the keys, and the doors of paradise opened.
"Do you know that we have to go fix the fingerprint and voice system?" I asked him. "Not to mention the paperwork."
"The only thing missing is yours and your signature; everything else is done."
I let out a sound of disbelief. "Wow, Isaac and Amelia are traitors."
He just smiled, like an innocent boy about to open presents.
"Wait." He stopped me when I was about to walk and picked me up before entering what was going to be our home. I was more than impressed. Everything is much more beautiful from the inside, indeed. "Welcome home, my love."
I looked down and gasped when I saw a huge balloon with roses, a card, and a little box. Angel guided me to read the card.
"You are the most beautiful thing my eyes have ever seen. I thank life for having you by my side and for that heart of gold that allowed me to fall in love with you again." I read, and my eyes started to be filled with tears. "I want you back to make you the happiest woman in the world, if you allow me."
I turned around and saw the love of my life, my everything, approaching and opening the box with the balloon and a simple yet sophisticated diamond ring.
"I love you, Sofia, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you and love you until the end of time and in the afterlife if God allows me. Do you want to be my wife?"
"Yes, of course, I want to, but I already am."
He chuckled while holding my hands. "Well, yes, but this time, I want it to be real, without lies, just two people who love each other with a promise to be happy."
My heart is overflowing with happiness; can he be more romantic?
"Yes, Angel, I agree to be your wife in this life and in all the lives you want." I responded with tears in my eyes, and he put the ring around my finger before hugging me and spinning me around in the air.
"You made me the happiest man alive because you said yes."
He pulled me to the terrace, and I saw a garden arranged with plenty of white and turquoise flowers. There is a path that leads to a small platform with arches of flowers, chairs, and tables covered in white and turquoise. There is also a wall with green grass surrounded by wood with the large initials S and A, wooden borders and posts that surround the garden, a stand with wooden notes, a large table with all kinds of cheeses, and another with sweets.
Everything is vintage my dream wedding. I then saw my family, friends, partners, and Amelia in beautiful vintage dresses and suits.
"Angel! You're crazy; this is... I don't know what to say. I love you." I told him, not knowing what to say but to express what I was feeling. "Friend, it's time to prepare for the wedding of your dreams."
"They're waiting for you upstairs to get ready," Angel informed me, and I kissed him before going upstairs with Mary and Amelia.
When I arrived upstairs, we entered a spacious room. Amelia shows me a beige pleated dress with a silk belt; the top is high-necked with lace; the shoulders are low-cut; and the back has a transparent mesh. "Amelia!" I exclaimed and covered my mouth in surprise. "That's my wedding dress, the one I designed!"
"The same one. I saw it among your brochures, and you told me it was nothing, but I know it was a vintage wedding dress, and you always said you wanted a wedding like that."
Tears filled my eyes again, and I hugged her tight. "What would I do without my best friend?"
"Nothing, so let's get you ready for your dream wedding while the groom gets ready."
I'm ready for about an hour of makeup, hair, and my beautiful wedding dress.
"My girl, you look so beautiful and radiant; it's not that you weren't the first time, but today you are." Mary trailed off with tears in her eyes, and I knew she was happy for me.
"Happy. I am. I'm so happy that I feel like my heart is about to burst." We were interrupted by a knock on the door, and my dad entered.
"Wow, is that my little princess?" He asked in awe, and Mary left us alone. "Sofia, you are incredibly beautiful; you look like your mother." Even through his tough facade, I can see tears in his eyes.
"Thank you, Dad, for everything and for supporting Angel in this madness."
Dad chuckled and caressed my face. "The man is in love; what else can I do if that is going to make my little girl happy? I'm glad I wasn't wrong when I thought he loved you."
"Yes, but he admitted it five years later."
"Don't think about that; you're here now, and that is important, but are you sure you want to do this?"
"Dad, I'm literally already married, so even if I say I'm not, he's still my husband."
"My daughter, who is now a businesswoman, powerful, independent, and with a child in her womb, you have grown so much, and if your mother were here, I know she would be as proud as I am of you." I blinked back the tears when I saw his eyes filling with tears. "You are the best dad in the world. Thank you for spoiling me so much," I gratefully told him while hugging him.
"That's why I'm your father. Well, are you ready to say yes to that man? Because he must be on edge," he stated, offering his arm for me to take.
The music starts playing, and Angel is standing there at the altar with a smile bigger than mine; his gaze is full of love. He's wearing a vintage wedding suit that highlights his eyes and his body. Also, there is Pops next to him with Harry and Diether.
It is the longest path I have ever taken in my life, and I was impatient to reach him. Yes, it is like a dream from which I never want to wake up.
"Angel, I am giving you my greatest treasure for the second time; make her the happiest woman alive, and treat her like the queen that she is," Dad firmly told Angel while handing me to him.
"I will do it as long as she lets me, father-in-law."
"And you, my girl, make this man, who has earned this, happy, but if he becomes a brute, you know where I am," Grandpa told me softly, kissing my cheek while I smiled at him.
The ceremony began, and Angel gave a speech to which I cried a river. I improvised my part because I didn't even have time for that, but there is nothing better than saying things spontaneously. This is how the wedding ends. It really feels like he is mine and I am his until death do us part. After hours and hours of enjoying the reception with loved ones, dancing, making a toast, and listening to my father and his grandfather congratulate us, I thought it was over, but Angel had more surprises for me.
"Love, I know I already gave you this beautiful house as a gift, but I have another one."
"My Greek God, you have given me a house, a son, and a dream wedding; what more can you have to give me?"
"You'll see. Come with me." He held my hand and pulled me to the main part of the house, and our guests followed us. When we arrived, I was shocked when I saw the sports car that was in his workshop, but this time, it was complete; it was in black with turquoise tones. "It's the car from your workshop," I commented with a gasp of surprise.
"It is," Angel confirmed with a nod.
"You said you had great inspiration when you created it."
"That's how it was; I had tasted glory on my wife's lips, something I dreamed of for five years, so of course, inspiration came to me."
"You made me believe it was for..." He stopped me with a kiss.
"Correction, you believed it. I didn't say anything, but it's yours; it was always yours."
He gave me the key, and I noticed that he also had my security system installed in the car.
"Wow, Mr. Leffman, I think you just made me richer."
"Don't I get a discount because I'm the owner's husband?" He teased me, and I denied it.
"I love you. You gave me so many things, Angel; how can I reciprocate it?"
"With love and that beautiful smile," he simply replied and touched my nose.
"Ah, I know, I still have that sexy outfit under this dress that you're going to love," I whispered to him, and I saw his eyes darkening.
"Woman, don't; we still have guests." He warned me, and I giggled before pulling away to admire my car.
When I opened the door, I found an envelope on the seat and took it. It is a two-ticket package with tours to Italy, Spain, France, and London. "Angel, we're going on a trip!" I exclaimed in excitement.
"Three months just for you and me!" Angel said, just as excited as I am.
I run up to him, and he picks me up and says, "I love you with all my being."
"And I love you with everything I am."
We sealed it with a kiss, forgetting the world around us. I'm so happy, and I have never been this happy.
"You have given me everything I have ever dreamed of."
"And it's only the beginning, beautiful."
