I Once Married You (Harper and Benjamin)

Chapter 88

Chapter 88 Wait All Night

The back of her head was gripped by Benjamin's palm. Harper wanted to struggle, but her waist was tightly bound by him. Harper dared not move for fear of touching her abdomen and could only tilt her head to accept his forceful kiss.

Benjamin's dominant kiss pinned her there, and the scent she smelled was full of pure masculine essence.

He kissed deeply, not allowing her any room to dodge or evade, sucking on her lips back and forth.

By the time this long kiss ended, her whole body had softened, and she leaned heavily against his chest, her face and ears flushed red.

Breathing heavily, Harper looked up at him. "What are you doing?"

Her voice sounded more like a coy rebuke than an upset query.

Benjamin squinted his eyes, then leaned down to peck her lips again. "What do you think?"

His voice was so hoarse. Even through her clothes, Harper could feel the scorching heat of his hand on her body. Harper pressed her lips together slightly, unsure of how captivating she appeared at that moment.

Benjamin murmured, "How about skipping your outing?"

"No."

She subconsciously wanted to move away but was pressed down firmly by him.

Benjamin raised his hand to rub her lips. "No more lipstick, it doesn't taste good."

His direct request made her cheeks even redder.

Initially, Benjamin just wanted to tone down the bright lipstick, but after rubbing her lips, he realized that she looked more captivating than before.

Benjamin's gaze was too direct and purposeful, making Harper feel that if things continued, she might not need to go out at all. So, taking advantage of his relaxed guard, she quickly extricated herself from his embrace and rushed away.

Watching her fleeing figure, Benjamin couldn't help but smile.

At the airport, Harper met her friend at the arrival gate. The man was wearing a mask and sunglasses and dressed inconspicuously. They exchanged a brief hug.

"Long time no see. I'm glad I didn't mistake you for someone else, or I wouldn't know how to explain it." Harper laughed.

The man smiled slightly, "Still as cheeky as ever?"

They walked to the parking lot together, and Harper, driving the car, said, "Let's grab a meal first, and then you can rest early. Tomorrow, I'll accompany you for a stroll around town."

"Sounds good, but I have dinner plans tomorrow night. Will you come with me?"

"Isn't that inappropriate?"

"It's fine. You have to be so polite to me? I feel more at ease with you around, or else I might make a run for it."

The man joked half-seriously, but it wasn't entirely unwarranted. He was usually socially anxious and reluctant to interact with others apart from close friends. Tomorrow night's dinner was a rare exception. Harper understood this about him and agreed.

They arrived at the restaurant and booked a private room. After a while, the food was served.

While eating, the man suddenly asked, "You've had less contact with me in Mayby this past year, Harper. I haven't asked before, but have you encountered any difficulties?"

"No." Harper shook her head. "Just some personal matters."

"Good to hear." The man didn't press further, thinking Harper would mention it if she wanted to. He then asked, "Is Mr. Parker with you in Mayby?"

"Yes, we're currently partners in an architectural firm."

"He still treats you well, Harper. There might be things you don't understand, but as a man, I know very well that he likes you."

Harper smiled, "Come on, Mr. Whitman, don't tease me. Some things are better left unsaid between friends, right?"

The man just smiled and continued, "He's just not charming enough, there's nothing about him that draws you in. If he had the skills, you would have fallen for him a long time ago, and you wouldn't have remained just friends."

Harper fell silent, just smiling.

The man didn't say anything more. After dinner, Harper just dropped him off at the hotel. He said before getting out of the car, "I talked a lot tonight. If you're not happy, you can just tell me. But I'm not sure if I'll change next time."

Harper shook her head helplessly. "Why can't your wordiness cure your social anxiety?"

He made a gesture of zipping his mouth shut, then walked into the hotel.

At the same time, at Pineview Villa, Benjamin's phone rang.Content rights belong to NôvelDrama.Org.

A man's voice came from the phone. "Mr. Martin, after dinner, Mrs. Martin just sent the friend back to the hotel. She didn't get out of the car. They just said goodbye at the hotel entrance." "Okay."

He then hung up and set the phone down.

Harper was completely unaware of this.

Half an hour later, she returned to Pineview Villa and went straight upstairs to the bedroom.

Benjamin was lying on the bed reading a book, ignoring her. Harper took the initiative to ask, "Are you not going to sleep yet?"

"With my wife meeting up with a friend of the opposite sex outside, can I sleep peacefully at home?"

"Benjamin, I told you I was going out. I'm not sneaking around behind your back."

"That's only because I asked you. If I didn't ask, would you have told me?"

He raised his head to look at her.

Harper could only shut up.

She took a shower, removed her makeup, and then waited for half an hour before finally getting into bed.

But as soon as Harper lay down, Benjamin's body pressed down on her, and she quickly used her hands to stop him from pressing on her abdomen.

Benjamin was annoyed by her reaction and asked in a low voice, "What are you doing?"

"You're too heavy, it hurts my stomach when you press on me."

Benjamin believed her but directly lifted her onto his body, then held onto her chin and whispered, "I've been waiting all night. You should satisfy me now, right?"

Harper instinctively wanted to refuse, but Benjamin didn't give her a chance and kissed her.

Harper didn't know what excuse or reason to use anymore. If she kept refusing, Benjamin would sooner or later figure out what was going on. She had asked Julie, and as long as she slowed down a bit, it would be fine. So Harper controlled the speed the whole time, driving Benjamin almost crazy.

In the end, Benjamin was completely out of control, doing whatever he wanted.

It was already late at night by the time it ended. He, full of energy after being physically satisfied, took the initiative to clean her up, leaving Harper feeling both embarrassed and annoyed. She threw a pillow at him and then buried her head in the pillow to sleep.

The late-night sex made Harper unable to be woken up by her alarm the next day.

Benjamin kindly turned off her alarm for her, then pushed the covers down to let her continue sleeping. However, just as he was about to leave, Harper's phone suddenly rang.

He picked up the phone and saw the name on the screen, then immediately answered, walking to the balcony. Frank's voice came from the other end. "Harper, I bought you breakfast. Want to come to the company and have it together?"

Benjamin squinted and said in a low and gentle voice. "Mr. Parker, you do seem to care for my wife in every detail, but thank you for your kind offer. Harper is still asleep and won't be able to enjoy your breakfast. Mr. Parker, please go ahead and enjoy it yourself."

His words were laced with both provocation and warning.

Frank was taken aback as he hadn't expected Benjamin to answer the phone.

He asked, "Mr. Martin, are you now even trying to interfere with Harper's freedom of association?"
