I Once Married You (Harper and Benjamin)

Chapter 490

Chapter 490 Postponing the Surgery

Harper didn't dodge, meeting his gaze head-on and responding, "Tracy helped me get the internal member information of major brands, and Annie and I have sorted it out. Her studio is preparing to launch a luxury necklace and wants to see what type of people would like this necklace through purchase records. I also need to understand their preferences to design the interior of the farmhouse."

Although her real purpose was to find Michelle's purchase records, Harper and Annie decided to launch a necklace temporarily to cover their real intentions.

So Harper wasn't exactly lying. Benjamin nodded after hearing this. "If you need help, just tell Curtis. He'll assist you."

"Okay." Harper didn't refuse but couldn't help asking, "Does that mean I owe you a favor?"

Benjamin smiled, "What do you think?"

"Probably not?"

"Why? Afraid I'll ask for payment?"

He was handsome, with a smile that could warm even the coldest of nights.

At night, lying in bed, Benjamin was unusually not reading but chatting on his phone. Harper, curious, asked, "Who are you chatting with?"

He showed her the phone, which was a chat page with Larry, and said, "Larry's confession."

Larry had sent several long messages, first asking about what he did after getting drunk, then inquiring about Annie's attitude towards him.Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.

Benjamin replied without mercy: [To avoid being disturbed by you and to stop you from entering her house, she stayed outside for half the night with you. So, what do you think her attitude is?]

Larry didn't respond at all, clearly struck by these words.

Harper looked at Benjamin and asked, "Why did you tell him that?"

"I'm just telling the truth. Isn't that what happened?"

Harper shook her head. "I don't know."

Benjamin didn't bother with Larry anymore, so the chat page stayed on his reply.

Harper handed the phone back to Benjamin and asked, "Larry was drunk, how could he still know to go upstairs with you to look for Annie?" She looked at him expectantly for an answer.

His expression didn't change much. He just lowered his eyes to somewhere else and said, "He might just be faking his drunkenness."

"Faking?" Harper was shocked, thinking, "He sure knows how to act. He even mistook me for Annie after hearing my voice. He's way too calculating."

She furrowed her brow. "Larry's a good actor. I'll have to remind Annie not to be fooled by him."

"Sure," Benjamin responded, his deep eyes as calm as a serene lake.

He silently prayed for Larry in his heart.

Both of them had a restful night.

The next morning, Benjamin received a call from Yinson.

Yinson said, "Benjamin, I have an urgent matter to attend to and will be traveling for a week. The surgery for Harper's grandmother will be delayed until after I return. You two should take this time to take good care of her. Her condition has improved a lot, and it will be

beneficial for her recovery after the surgery."

Originally, Eleanor's surgery was scheduled to happen soon, but Benjamin still agreed to the delay.

After Harper woke up, Benjamin told her about the change. Harper didn't have any complaints but was a bit worried. "Is it okay to delay the surgery?" "Yes, otherwise, Yinson wouldn't have done this."

"That's fine, then."

Harper was only worried about Eleanor's health, and she would choose the time for the surgery that was best for her.

After having breakfast together, Benjamin left for work first, and Harper would go later with Annie.

Just before he left, Benjamin

suddenly reminded her, "Don't

interfere with what's happening between Larry and Annie. Let them decide things on their own.

Harper nodded, thinking that Larry must have said something to him, but she didn't overthink it.

Then she heard him say, "The baby is growing, and you're not as energetic as before. You don't need to do everything personally. Ask me for help, okay?"
