I Once Married You (Harper and Benjamin)

Chapter 240

Chapter 240 Conversations

"It doesn't matter if there's a mistress involved or not. If you feel uncomfortable with it, you should take it up with Larry directly. But instead, you came to Annie and said things you shouldn't have said. Do you realize she's disappeared because of you? It's been a night, and if something happens to her, not only will I hold you responsible, but Larry won't let you off the hook either." Julia stood speechless, her expression vacant.

She recalled her encounter with Annie and the unpleasant words she said to her. Annie behaved indifferently. She had assumed Annie was after Larry's wealth and status.

Satisfied with Julia's silence, Harper released her grip on her collar, taking a moment to clean her hands with a tissue from the table.

"Julia, if you had pursued Larry instead of her from the start, we wouldn't be having this conversation today. Wanting to salvage your marriage isn't wrong, but you've chosen the wrong person. She doesn't even care about being with Larry," Harper asserted, her tone impassive as she turned to leave.Content provided by NôvelDrama.Org.

She returned to sit in her car. Harper remained still, lost in thought.

She had contemplated calling Anderson Jones several times since the previous night.

If she did, he would come to Mayby immediately to search for Annie. However, it would also expose her presence to the Jones family, something Annie would likely want to avoid.

With a heavy heart, Harper reluctantly abandoned the idea of contacting Anderson Jones.

Meanwhile, in the CEO's office of the Martin Group, Benjamin received a call. "Mr. Martin. Your wife just left the Silver restaurant. Before that, she had been at the company," Curtis informed. "Is she going to have lunch?"

"No, she came here to meet Ms. Julia Norman, your friend Larry Ellison's fiancée, and they argued."

"Follow her, and make sure she is safe."

Curtis sighed inwardly at the

daunting task ahead. He had been

running around most of the night,

and now he had to tail Harper early now in the morning. It was proving to be quite the ordeal.

Following Harper back to her apartment, Curtis ensured she didn't exit the building before reporting back to Benjamin and receiving permission to return to the O company.

Harper visited her grandmother Eleanor to have lunch together at home. However, her anxiety left her with no appetite.

Concerned, Eleanor remarked on her appearance, "You've lost weight. Did you not sleep well last night? You look worn out."

"I am alright. The doctor said eating too much is not good for the baby as well."

"You've lost weight. Did you not sleep well last night? You don't look well." Eleanor frowned with concern on her face. Harper remained composed. "Perhaps it was the rain that kept me up. And how about you? Did you sleep well?"

"I slept tight until dawn," Eleanor replied before urging Harper to take care of herself, particularly with her pregnancy. "Your child is growing by the day. Even if you wanted to keep it from Benjamin, you probably won't be able to for much longer, she advised gently.
