Chapter 216 Show Me Your Sincerity

Lauren asked, "Benjamin, if it weren't for what happened a year ago, would you have wanted to completely sever ties with me a long time ago?"

Benjamin didn't speak but just gave her a cold glance.NôvelDrama.Org content rights.

Lauren nodded sadly. "I understand. I know your answer now."

She covered her mouth and ran out crying.

Benjamin did not stop her, nor did he have any intention of catching up.

He stood still and endured for quite a while before suppressing his emotions.

When he returned to the dining hall, Harper was already seated.

She looked up and met his gaze for a moment, then calmly said, "Let's eat. The dishes are getting cold."

Without waiting for Benjamin to speak, she lowered her eyes and picked up her utensils to start eating.

Benjamin sat across from her, and neither of them spoke, maintaining silence all the way.

After a long time, they finished the meal.

Harper asked, "Benjamin, can you help me now?"

Benjamin squinted his eyes and picked up a tissue to wipe the corners of his mouth and hands. After throwing away the napkin, he expressionlessly raised his head and looked at her. Then, he calmly asked, "What do you feel about Lauren's actions?"

Harper was slightly taken aback, and the image of Lauren kissing him appeared in her mind.

Actually, she only went over it after hearing the argument between Lauren and Benjamin. She heard Lauren crying and was very emotional. They must have disagreed with something. All her attention was on their conversation, so she wasn't sure if Lauren actually kissed him.

She thought, "They probably kissed. After all, they are so close and he loves Lauren, so they must have kissed."

Thinking of this, Harper felt an indescribable bitterness. She thought, "Why does Benjamin ask me how I feel?

I don't understand what he means.

Is he implying that I should understand him and not mind this?"

She forced a bitter smile and silently told herself, "Harper, maybe you really should understand."

She bit her tip, remained silent for a moment, and then responded, "This is between you and Lauren, so I can't give my opinion. But Benjamin, don't worry. I won't ruin your relationship with Lauren."

"Are you being magnanimous now?" Benjamin's eyes were sharp. "Harper, you are so understanding. Should I give you an award? How about the best considerate wife?" His gaze was piercing, staring at her without blinking.

Harper's face remained expressionless as she replied, "Did I do something wrong?"

She thought to herself, "I did complain, but it never worked.

Every time, you make me obedient, reminding me that your affairs with Lauren have nothing to do with me. So I keep this in my mind. And now you're the one getting angry?" Benjamin retorted, "How could you be wrong? I am the wrong one!"

After speaking, he prepared to leave.

Harper immediately caught up, blocking his way, and asked, "Benjamin, I don't understand why you are asking me this question. I don't know why my answer irritated you again. But you said that your affairs with Lauren are your private matters, so you hoped that Wouldn't interfere. And all along, I do as you wish. So what else are you unsatisfied with? Can you just tell me directly?"

She looked up at Benjamin, who was clenching his teeth tightly, his facial muscles as taut as a string about to snap.

With narrowed eyes and a hoarse

voice, he said, "Since you know I'm unsatisfied, do you think I would tell you why? Harper, didn't you want me to find Annie for you? Show me your sincerity. Do you think cooking a meal for me is enough? Then my help might be too cheap, don't you think?"
