Chapter 148 It's Yours

Chapter 148 It's Yours

Kimberly was stunned but nodded in response. "Mrs. Lily Martin, you're right."

"Look at how sensible Kimberly is." Lily's praise for Kimberly was distant, a far cry from what Harper received.

Benjamin didn't contradict his mother. He just whispered, "Don't you got things to buy?"

"That's right. I'm sorry, we have to go," Lily said, taking Harper's hand and walking out.

Once they were out of the shop, she explained to Harper, "Harper, I didn't mean to keep this from you. I just wanted Benjamin to spend some money today to buy us a few trinkets. Please don't be upset with me."

Harper thought, "With you saying that, could I stay mad?"

She asked, "What do you want to buy?"

"We'll go and take a look first," Lily said, pointing to a luxury store not far away.Content property of NôvelDra/ma.Org.

Lily was well-known in their circle as a jewelry collector. She had various limited edition and rare pieces in her collection.

She led Harper and Benjamin into the store, where the staff naturally recognized them, especially Lily, who was a prestigious VIP member.

"Mrs. Lily Martin, the jewelry you were interested in has been set aside for you. Shall we go take a look?" the staff said with a smile.

Lily nodded, and the three were escorted to the VIP lounge.

The staff opened the box containing the stored jewelry, a dazzling diamond and emerald jewelry set.

Lily was pleased and nodded. "I'll take this set." Then she asked, "Is my bracelet for maintenance ready?"

"It's already been wrapped up for you. Let's open it for you to check," the staff said, promptly opening another box containing an emerald bracelet.

Lily looked directly at Benjamin. "I want this."

Benjamin didn't even flinch. Then Lily asked the staff, "What about the bracelet I requested?"

The staff immediately opened a delicate wooden box, revealing an emerald bracelet of icy, imperial green color.

Its translucency and hue were exceptionally beautiful, appearing even more vibrant against the black velvet.

The staff handed the bracelet to Lily with great care, saying, "This bracelet is extremely precious. Our craftsmen have never seen such fine emeralds before."

Lily smiled without saying a word. After instructing the staff to prepare the payment for the jewelry set, she turned to Harper. "Harper, do you like this bracelet?"

Harper had been admiring it since the box was opened. It was indeed a magnificent piece of emerald. She nodded. "It's beautiful."

"If it's beautiful and you like it, then it's yours," Lily said.

"Mine?" Harper was taken aback. She quickly said, "Lily, I don't need it. You should keep it for yourself as a keepsake."

"This isn't just a keepsake. It's the wedding gift my mother gave me. Now I'm giving it to you," Lily said as she handed the bracelet to Benjamin. "Benjamin, help Harper put it on."

Benjamin took it and then extended his other hand to Harper, indicating that she should give him her hand.

But Harper frowned, "Lily, this isn't appropriate. Such a precious bracelet should be kept as a memento by you."

"Just because it's precious is why it should be passed down. Harper, you shouldn't feel pressured. Actually, I should've given it to you earlier, but it was with Benjamin's sister all this time. She only recently had someone bring it back to me," Lily explained.

Harper knew Benjamin had a sister who had been abroad, but she had never met her.

Still, Harper insisted, "Lily, you should give it to your daughter. I really don't need it, and it's not right for me to have it."

"Harper, there's nothing wrong with it. If you really see me as your mother-in-law, then take it," Lily said firmly.

"Uh oh, she was resorting to emotional blackmail," Harper thought.

Lily asked Benjamin, "Do you think Harper should have this?"
