I Once Married You (Harper and Benjamin)

Chapter 107

Chapter 107 Must Divorce

"Benjamin, if it weren't for the unexpected, we would probably be divorced by now. Even though we've made our relationship public, I don't think it's reasonable to start planning for a child just two days after announcing it. A marriage without the foundation of love can only bring unhappiness to a child, so I'm not willing to have a child at this time."

"So what you're saying is, if I never love you, you'll never have a child with me in this lifetime?"

Benjamin's expression was unchanged, and his eyes were intently watching her face.

His words, devoid of any warmth, pierced to the core, as chilling as the shards of ice in winter.

Harper paused, then chuckled, "So, you've already resolved never to fall in love with me in your lifetime. Why then, would you even bother asking me for a child?"

Benjamin narrowed his eyes, detecting the rejection and repulsion in her gaze. A smile appeared on his lips, half-mocking as he said, "So, you're using these word games just to avoid having children with me? "Benjamin, you were the one who said you'd never fall in love with me. Even if you don't love me, you're the one who insists I have your child. You never tell me these decisions, let alone consulting me. Even if you made this request in front of grandpa, I wouldn't agree. Unless you love me, or I won't have a child with you."

Harper's stance was resolute, and as the atmosphere began to thicken with tension, Paul quickly interjected, "Let's talk it over slowly. Harper is right, since you've decided to spend your life with Harper, then show some sincerity and the right attitude. Otherwise, how can you expect a woman to agree to have children with you?"

"Paul, I'm sorry, I..."

"There's no need to apologize. You're right. Girls should protect themselves. We all support you, right?"

Paul glanced at Scott and Lily, who both nodded in agreement.

Benjamin narrowed his eyes and smiled, but his face under his tousled hair turned coldly due to her words. His husky voice revealed indifference. "Grandpa, you believe everything she says, don't you? Do you think she's avoiding it just for that reason?"

Paul's face hardened, and his gaze bore into Benjamin as if warning him to stop.

Yet Benjamin acted as if he saw nothing.

His gaze was frosty. "Harper, is it because you're afraid your ex-boyfriend might come back for you that you don't want children? If you had a child, wouldn't you have to take the child to him? How could any man be willing to raise another man's child? So, not having children is the best choice for you, isn't it? Have you planned this all along?"

Harper looked back at Benjamin indifferently, devoid of any emotion. She simply said, "If you think so, then let it be."

"What, you don't even want to explain?"

"Benjamin, if you think I'm that kind of person, then why bother asking me over and over?"NôvelDrama.Org: owner of this content.

Harper's lips were tightly pressed, her eyes cold as she stared back at Benjamin.

Paul noticed the atmosphere

growing increasingly tense, so he quickly stood up and looked towards Harper. "Harper, could you help me back to my room? I think we need to have a talk, just the two of us."

Harper nodded and quickly got up to assist Paul, following him back to his room.

Once the door closed, Harper and Paul walked to the balcony and sat down.

Paul asked, "Harper, is there anything you want to tell me?"

Her expression softened slightly, and she replied quietly, "Paul, I might disappoint you."
