Chapter 1135: You Must Listen in the Future
Lorraine acknowledged with an "Hmm" and placed her suitcase to the side. "Where am I sleeping
tonight?"
Haider didn't respond to her question. Instead, he raised his hand and gestured to the side. "Pour me a
glass of water."
Lorraine had no intention of moving, but seeing Haider's less-than-pleasant expression, she turned
around and fetched a glass of water for him.
"Here, drink up," Lorraine handed the glass to Haider.
However, instead of taking the glass, Haider reached out and grabbed Lorraine's wrist. His voice held a
husky tone that was difficult to describe. "Lorraine, you haven't wished me a happy birthday yet."
Meeting those familiar eyes, Lorraine softly wished him a happy birthday.
Haider chuckled and released Lorraine's wrist. He took the glass from her hand and took a few sips,
emptying it. "There are several rooms here, but only one that's available to stay in."
As Lorraine heard Haider's words, she nearly burst out with a curse. "Then where am I sleeping?"
"Didn't I say there's one available?" Haider replied.
Lorraine stared at him in a daze. "Then where are you sleeping?"
Haider's smile deepened at the corners of his lips. "Lorraine, where do you think I should sleep?"
"Don't even think about it!" Lorraine seemed to have realized something and yelled at Haider directly.
Haider's amusement grew. "Lorraine, this is my territory. I won't go outside to sleep."
"Then I'll go stay outside." NôvelDrama.Org owns this.
Haider set down the empty glass and looked at Lorraine. "It seems you didn't really pay attention to
what I said in the car earlier, did you?"
Lorraine pursed her lips. "What did you say?"
Haider squinted his eyes, stood up, closed the distance between them, and then said word by word,
"Lorraine, I said that once you're back in Manches City, you won't be able to leave again. Even if the
Jade Emperor himself came, it wouldn't matter!"
Lorraine subconsciously took a step back, wanting to create some distance between her and Haider,
but he reached out and pulled her back.
Compared to their previous distance, Lorraine was now completely enveloped by Haider's embrace,
their bodies pressed together.
Even though they were separated by their clothes, she could distinctly feel the warmth of his body.
Haider's voice was husky as he whispered into her ear, "Lorraine, that's enough."
These words stirred something within Lorraine. She was about to speak, but Haider's voice continued,
"You've played around for long enough. It's time for you to go home. I don't want to wait anymore."
Lorraine took a deep breath. "My parents said you're not a good person and that I should stay away
from you."
Haider let out a low laugh. "Whether I'm a good person or not, don't you know?"
Lorraine raised a hand to press against Haider's chest. "I don't know."
Haider leaned in, lightly nibbling on her earlobe. "Lorraine, you know. You know exactly what kind of
person I am."
The sensation of his nibbling made Lorraine's entire body tingle, as if she had been touched by an
acupuncture point. She remained frozen for a while, unable to move.
And in that moment, Haider shamelessly claimed her inch by inch.
Lorraine had never been able to resist Haider.
Back when she had yelled that she was breaking up with Haider, deep down, she hadn't really wanted
to.
After leaving Manches City, she had intentionally dated many men, frequently posting on social media
to showcase a vibrant and colorful life. But those photos were all meticulously staged.
She made friends, befriended friends of friends, and never missed an opportunity to exploit available
resources. However, she had never imagined that the moment she mentioned that she had been
deceived, Haider would cross oceans to find her and help her resolve everything.
Even in a foreign land, he always managed to handle her problems effectively.
So, if anyone were to claim that Haider didn't love her, Lorraine would never believe it.
However, Haider's controlling nature was sometimes hard for Lorraine to bear. That's why she had
gradually accumulated her grievances and exploded, demanding to break up with him.
In the beginning, their relationship had been a secret known only to them. So when they decided to
fake a breakup, nobody knew about it.
But after leaving Manches City, she had cried herself to sleep every night, missing Haider terribly.
When Mr. Kipling and Mrs. Kipling discovered her tears and questioned her, she had confessed
everything about her relationship with Haider under their relentless interrogation.
Afterward, Mr. Kipling and Mrs. Kipling had scolded Haider over the phone with colorful language. If
Lorraine hadn't intervened, Mr. Kipling might have hired some bodyguards to beat Haider up.
In the minds of Mr. Kipling and Mrs. Kipling, Haider had become a villain.
Now that Lorraine was back in Manches City, Mr. Kipling and Mrs. Kipling hadn't stopped her, but they
had bombarded her with phone calls and messages, all warning her to stay away from Haider for a
long and healthy life.
Lorraine sank into the sofa, exhausted by the recent events. Due to Haider's actions, her eyes were
reddened. Her hands gripped Haider's collar as she muttered, "You... you really are not a good person.
My parents were right."
Haider chuckled softly. "I know. Your parents were right."
Lorraine tried to push him away, but it was clear she couldn't.
"Listen to your parents next time. This is the result."
"From now on, you must listen. Understand?"
Lorraine didn't even muster an "uh-huh," feeling as if she had taken a trip to the underworld and back.
Haider was attentive as ever. After everything was done, he carried her into the bedroom, cleaned her
up, and placed her on the bed.
Lorraine was so exhausted that she didn't want to move a single finger. She let herself go and allowed
Haider to do as he pleased.
After making sure Lorraine was comfortable, Haider got up and headed to the bathroom. After a quick
wash, he returned to the bedroom.
Seeing the person who had come back to his side after so many years, Haider felt as if he was truly
alive again.
...
Time flew by.
In the blink of an eye, it was already October 1st.
Sandy and Brandon's wedding was scheduled for October 1st.
Due to a prenatal check-up, Yanis and Zane went to Viteto on the 31st.
With twins on the way, Yanis' belly had grown noticeably larger than before.
Even though Zane had been taking good care of her, Yanis hadn't gained much weight. From a
distance, you could only really see her belly.
Once they landed, Yanis wanted to use the restroom, and of course, Zane was worried.
"I'll go with her. You wait here," Bonnie said to Zane. Seeing him about to follow Yanis, Bonnie tried to
avoid causing any misunderstandings and accompanied Yanis to the restroom.
Zane felt a bit uneasy standing in place, holding Mles. He felt like at any moment, he might drop the
little bundle in his arms.
Mles wasn't afraid of Zane. Their little hands fluttered around, touching his face and body.
In the end, Mles gave Zane a smooch on the cheek.
Zane almost dropped Mles.
"Let me handle this."
Just as Zane was wondering if Yanis would be upset if he accidentally dropped the little one on the
ground, he heard a familiar voice from behind.
Upon hearing the voice, Zane barely hesitated before passing Mles over. "Lawyer Phillips, are you
switching careers to become a detective?"
