His Eagle Eyes on Me

Chapter 3137

This was the first time Archer had seen Ivy so angry, and he immediately apologized. "I'm sorry. I didn't know it was that important." Ivy calmed down and explained, "This bracelet was given to me by the old lady who raised me."

"I see. Why would Lucas have your grandma's possession, though?"

"I used to owe someone a big sum of money, and they took this bracelet from me as insurance. Lucas repurchased it from them."

Realization dawned on Archer. "I see! It's no wonder you like him so much!"

"I used to look hideous and had no friends at all. Not only was he not disgusted by me, but he was also kind. My parents and siblings all want to test him, but, to me, he passed all the tests when we first met." "That's in the past. You've been out of touch with him for the past three years, and you don't know if he's changed," Archer said.

"Of course, he hasn't changed. If he had become a bad person, he wouldn't have managed to open his own firm."

"Tell your parents that, then. In any case, a boy is not worth upsetting your parents."

"I know."

When Ivy returned home to Aryadelle, her parents and siblings immediately surrounded her.

Feeling slightly embarrassed, Ivy asked, "Why are you all looking at me like that? I'm still the same old me! I haven't changed!"

Layla chimed in, "You have changed!" Pausing for a moment, she touched Ivy's face. "You've gained weight!"

Ivy burst into laughter.Content from NôvelDr(a)ma.Org.

"Sweetie, you do seem to have gained a bit of weight. Is the climate in Taronia so nurturing?" Avery added.

Although they always provided Ivy

with good food and drinks, she had not gained a single pound while living with them, so it amazed them that she had put on weight after spending a few days in Taronia.

"It's probably because I don't do much over there," Ivy replied.

Back home, she had not gained weight due to the stress of her studies, but it was different in Taronia; in Taronia, she had been happy every day and had felt no pressure. "How are things going with that young man?" Elliot asked.

Discussing Lucas over the phone with her family felt less awkward than having to talk to them in person. Faced with her father's question, Ivy's face turned red with embarrassment. "He runs a company, and he's quite busy. I haven't told him about my identity, so he treats me like an ordinary person."

Avery held Ivy's hand and said, "Sweetie, what's on your mind? Tell me the truth."

Ivy really wanted to cover her face with both hands, but her mother held one of her hands, preventing her from doing so. "Mom, I... I like him," she said. Elliot and Hayden instantly looked disappointed.

Robert, on the other hand, chimed in gleefully and cheerfully as though he was enjoying the spectacle, "When are you bringing him home for us to meet?"

"We haven't even started dating yet. It's too early for him to meet the family, Robert," Ivy said.

Robert teased, "Could it be that he doesn't like you? How does he treat you?"

"He's really nice to me," Ivy replied.

Layla playfully remarked, "You say everyone is nice to you, so long as they don't bully you."

"He's genuinely kind," Ivy said, raising her wrist to show everyone the bracelet. This bracelet belonged to my grandma. It was taken away, but he used his money to redeem it for me even though he didn't have much money back then."

Everyone fell silent for a moment.

Clearing her throat, Ivy asked, "Why isn't anyone saying anything?"
