His Cure

Destruction

The plane powered up and sets off the ground slowly then sudden flied so high.

Beatrice’s breathing seized.

“You scared?”Alyssa raised a brow at her.

Beatrice released her breath and shook her head then grabbed the other glass cup from the tray and jammed glasses with Alyssa.

Just as Alyssa has planned to make her first time flight experience memorable, they did everything except live stream.

After the plane lands at the airport in Las Vegas, they woke up from their deep slumber.

They alighted from the plane and bumped into Doreen.

She just got done from her jet too.

“Oh, she came along too?”she scoffed lightly when she saw Beatrice.

Beatrice rolled her eyes at her and Doreen chuckled.

“I find you adorable.”Doreen confessed before scurrying off.

She was definitely pissed off by Beatrice’s presence.

“Miss Alyssa?”a driver called.

“Oh, thank God you’re here. Let’s go.”

They entered the car and the driver drove them to an hotel.

They entered and walked to the receptionist.

“Hello. I’m Alyssa.”

“Welcome, miss Alyssa.”the lady behind the desk beamed at her instantly then handed their room key to them.

They took the stairs up and locate their room.

“We are staying together?”Beatrice scoffed.

“Yeah. I think this room is big enough for both of us. It would be really boring to stay in different ones, don’t you think?”

Beatrice rolled her eyes.

“Okay.. now we are here. What next?”

“We will take a little rest then go out for a stroll afterwards.”

“What about the others?.”

“We are going on a stroll together.”

“Are we in the same hotel?”

Alyssa nodded before grabbing the receiver of the telephone then punched some numbers on the dialer.

“This is room 24. Get us a bottle of wine, hmm, wait, how good is your wine?, rate it”

Beatrice snorts.

“Oh, then, bring us a bottle. And, get us two plates of fried chicken, and fries too.”

She returned the receiver and glanced back at Beatrice.

“The fries are for me?”

“And the chicken, yes. Gregory told me that’s your favorite.”Alyssa smiled at her.

Beatrice nodded and sighed.

“So, what’s going on with you guys?”she sat on the chair, facing Beatrice who was sitting on the bed.

Beatrice squints her eyes.

“I don’t quite understand. We.. are having our wedding soon, so, what else?”she chuckled nervously.

“Oh, I already know the wedding is not a real deal. I mean, for him to go at length to tell me stuffs about you, I think he likes you.”Alyssa bored her eyes into Beatrice’s own.

Beatrice cracked up.

“That’s funny, Alyssa. It’s impossible. Gregory is like a chameleon that changes constantly. You can never know what’s going on in his mind.”she laughed.

Alyssa retained a serious face.

“I mean it.”she said.

Beatrice heaved out a sigh.

“Well, let me tell you. That guy is willing to go to any length to make our marriage believable. He even asked the maid to report my every needs to him and he promised them to increase their payments if they do that! He knows what he is doing.”

Alyssa huffed.

“I still mean that though.”

A knock sounded on the door and Beatrice sprang up.

“Maybe all you need is food for you to stop sprouting such words.”she went to open the door.

A waiter pushed a trolley in.

He sets the food on their table then bowed to them before exiting.

..

“Who did you just say is here to see me?”Henry brows creased up.

“Mrs Brown, sir.”Oscar bowed.

“Oh, just call her Amelia. I hate that Brown name. I was never in support of her getting married to that man. Let her in then.”He sighed.

He carried the ceramic kettle on his desk as Oscar went out.

He held the handle with a hand and puts another hand on its bottom.

The drink gushed out through its spout and poured inside the cup.

He placed the kettle down and as he brought the cup closer to his mouth, Amelia stepped inside.

“She is here, sir.”Oscar announced.

“Hmm. You go away.”he nodded and waved him off.

Oscar left.

He glanced at her quickly before blowing some air on his tea and took a sip in.

“Why does it seems that you’re not happy to see me?”Amelia pouted.

Henry chuckles before putting his cup down.

“You’re my precious daughter, after all.”he smiled at her.

Amelia sat on the couch in his office and crossed her legs.

“Really?. Is that so?. You’ve always seen me as one?”she stared into his eye balls.

Henry rubbed his hands together.

“That doesn’t matter. Why are you here?.”

“It’s been so long, dad. Now that I’m finally here, you are not going to offer me anything?”

Henry frowned.

“Anything as in what?”

Is she there to get him to give her his properties?

She read the words in his eyes and smirks.

“You aren’t going to offer me a drink?”she peered her eyes in his and his eyes cleared up and he smiled.

“Do you like green tea?”

Amelia puckered her lips.

“I’m not sure. But, I came here for another reason entirely.”she uncrossed her legs.

Henry prodded his head at her, urging her to go on.

She stared at him for some minutes without saying anything.

“Mom!”she spoke up.

She saw his mouth twitched.

He scoffs lightly before drinking his tea again, blinking his eyes.

“I saw.. mom in my dream. She keeps muttering your name. And, come to think of it, dad, you’ve got wrinkles under your eyes.. you’re getting old.”she smirks.

Henry shot his gaze at her.

What is she implying?!

“Are you insinuating that it’s time for me to die?”

Amelia chuckled and waved her hands in the air.Text © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.

“Of course not. Why would I ever wish death for my favorite father?”

Henry coughed.

“Is that what you came here to say?”

“Of course not!”she stood up and moved to him.

“I see you’re also trying so hard to separate Gregory and that girl.”

“Are you saying we should team up?”Henry snickers.

“No. I’m just asking.”

“You also know Gregory has to get married to Jennifer no matter what.”

“But, why?. Why won’t you allow him follow his heart?”she raised a brow at him.

“Because in his heart lies destruction!”he snorts.
