Chapter 34 Plan Failed
His subordinate was already pale from fear. "This is not the time to talk about this! We're doomed if we get arrested!"
"We won't!" Jarrett clenched his teeth. "There's still the secret passageway!"
They sprinted towards the shelves where Calista was.
She was determined to send Jarrett to the police, and since they had run in this direction, she guessed they had some hidden escape route.
She gave a wicked smile, then flipped the switch on her rape alarm device, and threw it in their direction.
The high pitched wail of the device terrified the subordinate protecting Jarrett!
"Over there!" The police started running in the direction of the sound.
Left with no choice, Jarrett had to give up using the secret passageway and run in a different direction from everyone else. He had never been at such a loss before! Jarrett ran towards the warehouse and thought he saw the shadow that had thrown the alarm device earlier! D*mn it! If I catch that b*stard he's going to die!
Calista hadn't expected Jarrett to be so sharp, but she wasn't easy to catch either!
Calista ran and texted Wyatt at the same time, swiftly gliding her way around the warehouse like a ghost.
It was very noisy outside, but dead silent inside the warehouse. "Come out!"
Jarrett's cold and angry voice made Calista become even more excited. She couldn't wait to see if he could remain this fierce once Wyatt appeared.
Jarrett's eyes were bright in the darkness of the night - he couldn't see clearly in the day and so he wore spectacles, but he had excellent night vision, which Calista had not expected.
She only found it strange that even though she was definitely moving faster than Jarrett, he was always able to catch up with her and she just couldn't shake him off.
BANG! Calista had just stuck her head out to check and he fired a shot! If she was that split second too slow, she would have been hit.
Calista turned and ran!
Jarrett wasn't too slow himself either, and was better at running than her, so he caught up with her very quickly.
To Jarrett, the night was as clear as day, but because Calista was all covered up, he did not recognize her.
Calista used one leg to kick the gun out of Jarrett's hands, but because she was weaker in attacking despite being nimble, she could only keep hiding and dodging. Jarrett only felt that this petite person was very familiar. That mild fragrance and agile body were so familiar but he couldn't place it.
But since this person was after his life, he did not go soft, instead attacking more and more aggressively, and every stab of his dagger was meant to kill.
Finally his dagger slit the clothes of his opponent. His eyes focused and he realized his opponent was a woman!
The police had finally arrived on scene!
Jarrett stopped moving when he heard the noise, so Calista took this chance and kicked Jarrett onto the floor, and then quickly took off in the dark.
Wyatt heard the noise and ran towards it with his gun ready to shot. The warehouse was surrounded by a hundred policemen or so, so it was just a matter of time before they caught Jarrett. Wyatt couldn't believe how bold Calista was! Did she know how dangerous these people were? These were people who were not afraid to die, and she dared to come here!
Wyatt didn't know why he was so worried - all he thought about was how that girl with a prickly personality might be hurt or even killed! The hand holding his gun suddenly felt unsteady. Calista...nothing must happen to her!
Jarrett was furious after falling into Calista's trap! He had never offended any woman in his life, and he never thought he'd die at the hands of one!
"Listen, whoever's inside! Put down your weapon and come out and surrender! You have been surrounded!"
Jarrett anxiously hid himself in the warehouse. His white shirt had long turned black all because of that d*mned woman!
Calista also lay somewhere in the darkness, breathing hard. Jarrett was a strong opponent - if not for the fact she knew some Kungfu and was able to remain calm throughout, worse things would have happened to her.
But so what if he was strong? One person couldn't defeat so many people by himself, so she was going to see how this man was going to get out of this trap! Suddenly another voice was heard - a large group of men in suits went straight for Wyatt's superior.
Calista narrowed her eyes - was someone here to save Jarrett at this juncture?
The man who approached Wyatt's superior, Jasper Wright, was one of Kallum's executive assistants, and Jasper openly addressed him, "Mr Parker, we have received a reliable tip that the man we want is here, and we are now searching for him."
Levi Parker said, "Then you've made a mistake. The person you want is not here. I have just heard from Mr. Kallum that someone has escaped by boat, and that's the boss of Flame Fangs!"
"What!" Jasper nearly collapsed when he heard this. The head of Flame Fangs had committed countless crimes and he had wanted to arrest him long ago, but never got the chance. Today was his chance! After thanking Levi, he rounded up his men to go, and told Wyatt to tidy up any loose ends.
Wyatt hid the shock in his heart, and he was glad he had not told Jasper that tonight's deal was connected to the Sinclairs, but he didn't expect that it wasn't just connected to the Sinclairs, but also connected to the Fairchilds!
He scanned the large warehouse. If the Fairchilds were here, then Calista should be safe, right?
"What's going on?" asked Wyatt after Jasper's men had left and he got his own men to put their guns down.
Wyatt continued, "Someone told me Jarrett is here. The Sinclairs and the Fairchilds don't have anything to do with one another - why did you help him?"
Before Levi could reply, Jarrett walked out, his handsome face twisted in the dark light. His ragged self shocked both Wyatt and Levi!
Jarrett ignored the gun in Wyatt's hand, and asked in a murderous voice, "I want to know too - who got this information and who told you I was here?"
A few men came running from behind Levi, and the leader of them went over to help Jarrett to stand properly. "Mr. Jarrett, are you ok?"
"Give me a gun."Content is property of NôvelDrama.Org.
Jarrett said those four words so coldly, as if he was frozen. His subordinate did not ask and immediately gave him a gun. Jarrett took the gun and scanned the area behind him. "Turn on the floodlights! There's a little mouse in here, get her!" Seeing that Jarrett did not have any good intentions, Wyatt grew anxious. "You want to kill someone in front of me?"
"I don't just want to kill that person, I'm going to kill you too!"
The switch was pulled and all the lights turned on. Jarrett's men ran to find the person he wanted, but Jarrett aimed his gun at Wyatt when he saw him try to move.
"Tell me, who told you this!" Levi saw this and immediately tried to mediate the situation.
"Mr. Jarrett, don't act rashly. Mr. Wyatt knows what he's doing, and he didn't tell anybody else that you're here."
How did he expect him to stay calm?!
He had suffered a great loss today, he now owed the Fairchilds a huge favor for saving him, and till now he didn't even know who his opponent earlier was! He was all ready to kill someone now! Suddenly there was a noise from behind the cartons, and Jarrett fired a shot. He saw that person run out and so he started his chase!
