I was leaving my mate behind for the second time since this ordeal started. Unease pricked my skin and my wolf paced restlessly, more concerned for the safety of our mate than the safety of the millions of wolves in Alpha Blood.
‘Are you sure she’ll be fine?‘ Perseus asked, continuing to pace. ‘Aristo, that bastard, you’re sure he doesn’t know that particular hideout?‘
‘I’m about sixty percent sure,‘ I responded truthfully, aggravating my wolf. ‘He is the beta of this pack and he grew up roaming these grounds so there’s every possibility that he knows the grounds better than me? There was no shame in admitting that my beta was more familiar with my lands than I was – it was his duty to survey the pack and report to me, after all.
‘Will Sihana be safe?‘ Perseus wanted reassurance but it was something I couldn’t give him because I too had my doubts. It did not show on my face but I was terrified of leaving Sihana and the baby for a second. knowing my beta could find them and take them away.
‘I hope so, I muttered. The choice I made was the best choice considering the circumstance. It was not foolproof but she was surrounded by the most capable warriors and my gamma, warriors whose loyalty lay with me rather than Alpha Blood – people that had been taken with me from my original pack
“What’s the situation?” I asked my first commander.
They called it nepotism when I made this man my first commander when the second commander was more skilled than he was, but it seemed my past self foresaw the betrayal of the Alpha Blood wolves.
“I’ve dispatched my people to capture the escaped prisoners as you commanded,” he responded with a bowed head. “I will depart now to find the traitor Aristo.” His words made me laugh.
“No need to capture the prisoners. Kill them on sight. As for Aristo, you don’t have to find him. He will come to me.” The man’s eyes quivered and he clenched his fists but he didn’t argue.
The head of my security was the next to report. The Alpha Castle was under siege. My home had been ransacked by thugs. The Alpha Castle meant nothing to me until a few months ago when Sihana entered it It had become my home now and thugs dared enter to desecrate it.
“Deal with it.” I gave the order with a wave of my hand. “Capture no one.” The man blanched but nodded hurriedly. “In this war, Damien,” I started with a whisper. “I want no prisoners. Let them all die.
“Yes, Alpha,” he nodded before leaving.
Alpha Blood dared rise against me and for that, the world would now know me as the ruthless Alpha that tore his pack to the ground with his own hands.
The reports kept coming in and they all spoke of similar havoc. Two of our four borders had collapsed and insiders had been the ones to aid the collapse of Alpha Blood security. I laughed at the reports. As long as Sihana was fine, Alpha Blood could connive with all the enemy packs to ruin me. I didn’t mind being the Alpha of a destroyed pack as long as my mate was fine.
Throughout the first day of the battle, I was camped in my office, dishing out orders as more and more people came to find me in a panic. As of midnight, there was still no sign of Aristo. The Alpha

warriors were more than canahle of defending the nack but they were divided and the Creuson family was

“Sir, Silver Moon pack is under siege right now,” an elder informed me. “There is an inside coup championed by Alpha Warren and he has made a statement that the second he takes over the pack, his first order of business will be to join the war against Alpha Blood.”
“Let Kade deal with his troubles.” I was loath to admit it but Alpha Kade was not the type to cave so easily. He’d helped me once so I owed him but I could not help a man put out the fire in his home while mine burnt. I would repay him another time.
“Alpha, Aristo has been spotted around the Southern border. What should we do?” A commander of a small group asked.
“He is not in the Southern border.” I snorted. “He is most likely around the centre, waiting for the perfect time to ambush me.” He would also have people searching for Sia by now.
“Sir, the people in the eastern borders are caving fast under Dark Moon’s pressure. They need help.” Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.
“I’ll send Kravis and The Accursed,” I mentioned two special task forces. “They’ll deal with it.”
More and more reports came throughout the next day and from my office, I had a clear picture of what was going on in my pack. Those fighting with me and those fighting against me were almost evenly matched. It was time I stepped in.
“A – Alpha, where are you going!?” Two elders jumped to a stand when I suddenly stood.
“This is already the second day of this battle. Am I expected to be cooped up here while war ravages my land?” I snarled at the men blocking my path.
“But – Alpha, if you’re not here, who will manage the reports? Who will give the orders?” I had a beta and gamma but unfortunately, my beta betrayed me and my gamma had been tasked with protecting my mate with her life so I had to shoulder everything myself.
“Do I have commandants and brigade heads for decoration?” I snarled, the effect of being cooped up in an office for over twenty–four hours getting to me. “Mind link me if there’s a problem.” I brushed past the elders before they protested.
