Chapter 11
Mia
“I like him, and I hope things keep getting better between us,” Jasmine stated with a big smile on her face.
I could see it; I could tell that she liked him, she liked Noah. But I had doubts about this whole thing between them, I had doubts about the way Noah felt about her.
I felt like Noah wasn’t someone she should trust. I knew I had just a little say about her life, relationship, and what she does, but I didn’t want her to be with someone like Noah. His aura was so strong and evil.
“Uhmm… are you sure, Jasmine?” I asked, needing to be certain that she was sure about her choice.
That she was sure beyond any doubt that she wanted to be with Noah, and no one else.
“Of course, I am, Mia.” She responded and stood up from the bed, “I have never been so sure about anything in my whole life. I like Noah, and I want to be with him.” she said.
I sighed as I stood up from the bed too. She seemed so excited and happy about being with Noah, but I had this feeling that things weren’t right and that Noah was going to disappoint Jasmine in the future.
I didn’t want to sound weird, I didn’t want Jasmine to think that I wasn’t happy for her, and I didn’t want to discourage her from her relationship, but that feeling lingered still.
I got to her and held her hand, causing her to turn to face me, “Do you want to be with Noah? I mean, have you given this a good thought? Do you think you are doing the right thing?” I asked, trying my best not to sound weird to her.
She furrowed her brow, and I could read the confusion in her eyes, “Yes, I am sure. I want to be with Noah, and I think I am doing the right thing,” she responded, but her confused expression and raised brows remained.
I nodded at her and faked a smile, hoping she wouldn’t figure it out, “I hope it goes well for you two,” I murmured and turned to leave.
Jasmine caught my hand as I went by and pulled me back. She held my hands and stared into my eyes, “What is it you are not telling me?” she asked.
I quickly shook my head, “Nothing.” I responded.
Did I make it obvious? I thought I did a great job of hiding my feelings. I didn’t want Jasmine to find out how I was feeling about the whole her and Noah relationship, but it seemed like she already figured that out with my expression.
I faked a smile immediately, “Everything is fine, Jasmine, I am only looking out for your happiness,” I added.
But with the look in her eyes, she didn’t seem to buy what I said. She remained on her stance that there was something I was hiding away from her.
I looked up at her, staring into her eyes which were waiting for an answer. I had already told her, but she still doubted me.
“I know you, Mia. We have been friends for as long as I can remember, and I can tell when something is wrong with you, better than anyone,” she stated, “I know something is bothering you, and I won’t be at rest until I get to know what that is,” she added.
I felt like it was the right time to tell her what was wrong. I had to let her know what was going on in my mind so she could rethink what she was doing. Jasmine had to think her decision through again; I felt like it wasn’t the right one.
“I hope you won’t misunderstand what I have to say to you, Jasmine,” I murmured.
She shook her head, “Definitely not, please tell me what the problem is.” she said.
“Jasmine, I really think that you should be more concerned about finding your mate this time, than paying more attention to the relationship between you and Noah,” I explained.
Although that wasn’t exactly what I had in mind, I believed telling her that would make her give her decision a second thought.
She smiled and held me by my shoulder, “I understand you, Mia, I get all you are saying, but trust me when I say I don’t believe in all these mate bonds,” she chuckled and walked to her wardrobe, “I believe in love instead, and I love Noah, I want to be with him.”
“Does he love you too?” I asked.
“Of course, he told me how much he loved me, and he even asked me to be his date to the Luna festival,” she said, excitement radiating all over her face.
Even with her clarification on how she felt about Noah and how Noah felt about her too, I still couldn’t shake off the feeling that had lingered on me.
The feeling that there was something else to this relationship between them and that Jasmine wasn’t safe.
I didn’t care about who Jasmine would end up with, but I wanted her to be safe and happy, and I don’t think she will be with Noah.
I smiled, just to make her feel that everything was fine, so I wouldn’t give her something to worry about again.
“It is fine, the main thing is that you are happy about this,” I stated.
“I am happy, and I just can’t wait for the Luna festival. I can’t wait to be his date to the festival,” she said, excitedly.
I sighed, “I will just step out for some minutes,” I informed her and quickly walked out of the room just so she wouldn’t ask me more questions about this.
I didn’t want her to know that I still wasn’t cool with her relationship with Noah.
I headed for my brothers’ spot. They would always go there every day, and I had to ask them some things too.
“Mia!” Ethan called as I got to them.
“Hey, guys,” I smiled faintly, “Are you guys good?” I asked and took a seat beside them.
“We should be asking you that question, Mia,” Zane said, “You don’t look good, is something wrong?” He asked.Content is property of NôvelDrama.Org.
I shook my head, “There is nothing wrong.” I answered while letting out a sigh.
“You can lie to yourself, but you can’t lie to us, Mia. Tell us, what is the problem? You know we’re always here to help, right?” Calix urged.
I sighed and turned to them, “I need to ask you some questions first,” I started, “How do you three feel about Jasmine? I have noticed how you’ve all been acting differently whenever you’re with her for some time now, and I know you will only do that for someone you have feelings for.” I said to them.
“What nonsense is that, Mia?” Calix laughed it off, “Are you saying we like Jasmine?” He asked.
“Yes! That is what I meant. I know you all like her, but you keep hiding it.” I said, loud enough for those close to us to hear.
Not intentionally though.
“We do not like her,” Ethan said defensively, “Why would we like someone like her when there are better, hotter girls in the school?” he questioned, looking everywhere else but me.
A clear indication that he was lying.
“Then you three should look into my eyes and tell me that you don’t like her!” I yelled, but none of them could say anything, “You are my brothers and not just that, we’ve been one since we were born, and I can tell your true feelings or intentions towards someone. I know you all like Jasmine. So just y”all should f*****g admit it”
“Yes! We like her!” Zane finally admitted.
“Even though she is most times very stubborn and annoying, no day passes by, without us talking about her and wanting to see her,” Calix added.
“Even if it is just to hear her cuss us out for pranking or teasing her,” Ethan chimed in.
A smile fell on my face. I was very glad and excited that my brothers finally accepted that they liked Jasmine, and we could kick it off from there.
“I knew it!” I jumped up from the seat in excitement, and all I could see was their red cheeks and the little shy smiles on their faces, “But there is one problem.”
“What problem?” They asked in unison, their brows raised.
“Noah,” I responded and took my seat back, “Noah is the problem. I don’t like him being with Jasmine, and I feel like there is something odd about him.”
“I think we will all agree with you on that, Mia. There is little or no information about that guy, which makes his background and his intentions more suspicious. I don’t understand anything about that guy,” Zane grumbled.
“And his aura? It feels like there is a bad energy seeping out of him whenever he passes by my side,” Ethan said.
“I have felt that too, and I think we have to do something about this,” I stated.
“Yes, we should,” Ethan agreed.
“I know what to do.” I nodded with a smile on my face, “And I can help you get closer to Jasmine too, but on one condition.”
“What condition?” They chorused.
“You must not hurt her feelings, you must be sincere and straightforward with her,” I replied.
“That is not a hard thing, we will do as you have said.”
I smiled and stood up, “I will see you later then,” I said and walked away, my heart thumping with excitement.
I wasn’t sure why it excited me to hook up Jasmine with my brothers, but I felt like she would be safer and happier with them than with Noah.
Something about Noah was suspicious; there was something he was hiding from everyone, and I was going to find out what that is, no matter what it takes.
I decided that I would hire a private investigator to look into him and his background. That was the only way I could get more information about him.
For the time being, I had to focus on how I will bring my brothers and Jasmine together!
