Chapter 667
Chapter 667
All the partners were ready to cut ties with the McKinney Group. Now, all Edgar needed was some cash for PR work. Once he brought down Oscar and smeared the reputation of the McKinney Group, it was game over for them.
Chace, however, voiced his concern. “Sir, many of our projects are losing money. Are you sure it’s wise to spend ten billion on PR against the McKinney Group? Isn’t it a bit risky?”
“Risky? If we get all those partners on our side, we’ll dominate the market. Ten billion? We’ll earn that back in a few years. Do you think my business empire can’t handle a little turbulence?” Edgar said dismissively.
Chace remained silent, though worry clouded his face. He hadn’t realized just how complicated the situation in Seamar City was until now.
Projects were hemorrhaging money, and many partners had been poached by their competitors. Yet Edgar seemed unconcerned about the crumbling foundation beneath him.
Ever since he received Debra’s provocation, Edgar had been spiraling, obsessed with crushing Oscar and beating the McKinney Group in the shortest time possible.
That was mission impossible.
After Edgar hung up, Chace sighed. If things continued this way, the Odom family’s downfall was inevitable.
He turned to handle the check–ins for Drake and Debra, but as he stepped into the lobby, his eyes widened.
>“Ms. Frazier?”
He couldn’t believe Debra was there roaming freely.
“Chace, I have something I’d like to discuss with you. Do you have a moment?”
“I’m afraid I don’t have time to chat.”
“Busy dealing with the mess for Edgar?”
Chace narrowed his eyes in surprise, and Debra continued, “How much does he pay you?”
“Well, 30 thousand a month.”
“With bonuses, that will be 400 thousand dollars a year right?”
“That’s right.”
“I’ll pay you double. Come work for me.”
Chace adjusted his glasses. “You’re joking.”
“I’m dead serious.” Debra stepped closer. “I’ve done my research. You’ve been loyal to Edgar because his father supported you through school. To return his favor, you chose to work for Edgar. Sadly, Edgar lacks the business vision and is obsessed with dealing with Oscar.”
Chace’s smile faltered. “If this is the direction you want to take, we have nothing more to discuss.”
Unfazed, Debra continued, “Oscar is also Kolton Odom’s son. If you keep helping Edgar do this, Kolton will not rest in peace.”
“What do you know? Kolton was ashamed of having a son like him.”
“And now you’ve said it,” Debra smiled knowingly.
Realizing his slip of the tongue, Chace frowned. “Please excuse me, I have other matters to attend to.” Content is property of NôvelDrama.Org.
