Return Of The Devil
I can hear him laughing, walking through he looks up at me. I can do
this.
“Sit down princess, your mum just finished cooking.” My dad looks at me. Nodding, I sit down, Jasper sitting next to my dad. We sit eating. and I listen to the conversation they are having but barely join in. Joel is talking about his job, but I know the truth.
“Help me, Joel!” Ivy stands and he follows her, and I relax slightly. My dad looks at me worried.
“Princess.”
“It’s fine Daddy, I’m fine.” I smile. “I’m just trying to get my head around it, she never mentioned it, that’s all.” I will use that excuse for
now.
“Hey Damon, she sent me down to give you this.” Joel appears next to me, his body leaning in front of mine and I move back, watching him. handing my dad some papers. I suck in a breath as he stands and moves out of my way.
“I will look through it and see.” My dad smiles at him and I watch as he moves sitting next to me. I freeze slightly, trying to keep my eyes on the plate and Ivy comes back sitting at the table. I need to escape.
I can’t though, so I will eat, then go back to the hotel. Maybe just go home, if I leave here then he won’t know where I am and surely then he will leave Ivy alone?
Burn Of The Devil
“Harl!” I look up at Jasper. I blanked out. “Tomorrow, your dad said one more run–through, we will use earpieces and you use his bike. Then you’re ready for little D, okay?”
“Yeah, I’m fine with that. What time?”
“Say ten princess? Then you can come back to the club, have a break and go out with little D?” My dad looks at me and I nod.
“Sure Daddy.”
“And Princess.” I look at him. “Please be ready this time.” I laugh and he and Jasper join in.
“I promise to be.” He goes back to talking to Jasper, and I try to ignore the fact Joel is sitting beside me. I don’t even look at him, I look towards my mum and talk to her. We’ve finished eating now, so I will leave soon.
He leans into me.
“I’m glad I found you little mouse, it’s been a long year.” I shiver at his words and force myself not to react as he moves back.
Jasper keeps looking over to me, I don’t know how he does it. He looks at me with a straight face, but I can tell he is trying to reassure me without letting others know. It’s comforting.
I jump feeling a hand grasp my leg. Everyone turns to look at me and I fight back the tears.
“Bit my tongue.” It’s the only thing I can fucking think of. I go to move Joel’s hand off my leg but he moves it, grabbing my sex. Jumping up I push past him. “I need to go, I forgot I’m meeting some friends soon.” I turn to walk away and my dad calls me back.

Return Of The Devil
“You can’t walk, you left your car at the hotel.”
“I’ll drive her.” Joel stands and I go to shake my head as Jasper stands.
“No need, I will, it will give her a chance to give me directions again. Plus I left my friend at home after you came running by.” Jasper looks at my dad and laughs.
“Thanks, Jasper, see you at the club.” I walk out not even saying goodbye, getting outside Jasper stops me.
“What’s going on?”
“Nothing. I just don’t feel comfortable around him. Can we go please before my dad questions why we’re standing talking?” He nods and gets on the bike and I climb onto it, wrapping my arms around him.
“You’re shaking baby girl.”
“I’m fine.” I won’t get into it. He doesn’t say anything else just takes me back to the hotel. I expect him to follow me in but he doesn’t, he stays on the bike.
“I need to get to the club baby girl, if I disappear again your dad will get suspicious, stay at your dad’s a few nights. You know I stay there. often, it’s a good way to see you.” He kisses my cheek and I walk off. Rushing to my room, I lock the door and climb into bed. Hiding away and refusing to see the world or accept that he has somehow found a way into my life.
A year I have avoided him, a year I kept hidden. I thought I could move on, but he has proven I can’t. I can never escape him. I don’t sleep well, the past continues to replay. It took months to stop having nightmares and now I’m right back there.
Return Of The Devil
I hear the knocking and ignore it. I need to leave, and Jasper won’t understand because I can’t tell him why. I can lie and say I need to go back and get ready for the new semester but even I know that won’t work. The knocking gets louder mixed with the sound of my phone ringing.
