Chapter 788
"Flora, are you eating well over there? Getting used to the food?" Henrik barely got the words out before Raul nudged him aside and grabbed the phone. "I'm used to it," Flora said with a sigh, feeling a bit exasperated. She wasn't a child anymore; why were they so worried about her?
She flipped the camera around to show Connor in the kitchen. "Look, Connor's making dinner for me."
Connor stepped out, still wearing an apron and holding a spatula. "Uncle, big brother, don't worry. I'll take good care of Flora," he said earnestly.
Flora chatted with them for a while until they had to leave for work, and then she ended the call.
A message from Mr. Tanner popped up on her phone. It was a picture of a chaotic sports event. Abbey was in the center, looking pale and miserable.
Mr. Tanner: Flora, are you back? Things here are a mess and won't be sorted out anytime soon. I'll keep you posted on any updates. Abbey really got what was coming to her this time; she even fainted twice. The anger of dozens of countries is not something she can bear. What she did was posted online, and the whole world saw it. She's practically drowning in the backlash.
Flora replied with a simple "Okay."
Just then, Connor's phone, which he had left on the couch, started ringing. Flora glanced at the screen. It was Kruz.
"Connor, Kruz is calling," she called out to the kitchen.
"You answer it," he shouted back.
Flora nodded and picked up the call. "Hey, bro! Hehehe..." came Kruz's overly eager voice.
"It's me," Flora said, clicking her tongue.
"Oh, Flora!" Kruz's voice shifted to normal, and he let out a sigh of relief. "What's up?"Content © NôvelDrama.Org.
"Uh... so, what are you guys up to? Have you eaten yet? If not, why don't you come over to the Falcone's for dinner? It's rare for you to be back let's get together!" He paused and added, "My mom would love to see you both too!"
His mom wanted them to come? The last time they met, Amanda hadn't been too fond of her, but Flora hoped to improve their relationship. After all, Amanda was Connor's mother. Connor had few
relatives, and while he seemed
indifferent, Flora knew he cared about Amanda.
Now that Amanda was inviting her over for dinner, it was a gesture she couldn't refuse. But Connor had already finished cooking.
Flora thought for a moment. "Hang on, let me ask Connor. You called a bit late; he's already made dinner."
"Sure, sure, ask him," Kruz said eagerly. He wasn't surprised that Connor was cooking. He had seen how Connor doted on Flora, always whipping up something delicious for her.
But Amanda and Ethan, who were listening on speaker, were taken aback. Connor cooking? They tried to picture it but couldn't quite imagine the scene. They were intrigued and couldn't wait to see what would happen next.
