Chapter 12: Are you still an adult?
Severo put down what was in his hand and sat up straight. He looked at her carefully, his eyes as deep as swirls. Allyce, how old are you?”
Allyce, unconsciously submissive at being stared at so intently, stood up and replied: “22”.
A look of satisfaction flashed across Severo’s eyes. In a voice that sounded like running water, unmistakably cadenced but still full of seriousness, he said, “As an adult, you should be responsible for every action you take. Allyce, are you trying to be irresponsible by sleeping in the same bed with me?”
“You… What did you just say?” Allyce was surprised at his sudden frankness.
However, Severo, who no longer wanted to answer, got up and left the bedroom.
…
Allyce finished hanging up her clothes and left the bedroom.
Silently, he walked with light steps to the kitchen and peeked inside.
When she thought she had not disturbed the man in the kitchen, Severo suddenly turned to look at her and said seriously: “I know how to cook very little and I don’t know if it is to your liking.
Did he also have eyes in the back of his head?
“Anything’s fine.” Allyce nodded mechanically. People who couldn’t cook had no right to choose their food.
Severo nodded in satisfaction.
Allyce poked her head out of the door and looked around.
One day with Severo and it already seemed strange to him.
As he hung up the clothes, he looked at them carefully. The tags were torn off, but I could still see what brand the clothes were. If he added up the cost of all the clothes he had bought today, they must have been worth a lot of money.
Contrary to his opinion, not only did he have money, but he was not stingy.
Although he was not a rich boy, he looked like one and had a powerful aura. He did not look at all like a man who could cook.
He was also very skilful in his movements. He must have cooked a lot.
Of all the rich kids I knew, none of them could cook.
So, he thought, Severo was probably a white-collar guy or something.
Severo was indeed a very good cook and Allyce ate happily. When he had finished eating, he hurried to put all the dishes in the kitchen, indicating that he had to wash the dishes.
At the sound of clattering dishes in the kitchen, Severo frowned and turned to the kitchen door, “Are you all right?
Allyce turned to him: “You think you’re the only one who can do it? It’s just the crockery.Content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.
After saying this, Allyce felt a little disappointed. Although her life in the Delahoz household had not been easy, she did not have to wash dishes or cook. Even after a few years abroad, she still hadn’t learned to cook because she was too busy studying.
Severo’s pretty eyebrows relaxed gently and he nodded earnestly, “Well, thank you for your approval, Megan.
Then he turned and walked away.
Approval? What was the approval you were giving him?
Allyce finished washing the dishes and carefully tidied up the kitchen.
He had interrupted her like that before when she had mentioned the divorce. She was too ashamed to mention it again; she was not as brazen as he was.
Was it irresponsible? Let’s see who loses!
That night, both she and Severo had been drunk, so something had happened that should not have happened.
Today, however, both are sober and have an official marriage certificate.
How about sleeping in the living room? Allyce looked reluctantly at the sofa and tiptoed like a thief into the bedroom.
He opened the door gently.
Only a bedside lamp illuminated the room. In the dim yellow light, Severo, dressed in a loose-fitting bathrobe, sat on the single sofa, talking on the phone. The soft light from the lamp enveloped his whole being in a gentle halo, softening his normally cold demeanour.
Seeing her standing in the doorway, Severo stands up and walks towards her, phone in hand. His face was expressionless, and clearly lacked the anxiety that Allyce was feeling at the moment.
His voice was still clear and pleasant when he said, “I’m going to take this call. You take a shower and go to bed”.
