Fall For Me

Chapter 17

The footsteps kept getting closer, My heart was pounding so loudly, I knew this was the end, If he should catch me now I wouldn’t be able to escape again, I needed help, Someone please help me, I cried internally, I decided to just come out plain instead of being caught like a thief, There was nothing I could do, It is over.

Before I lost all hope I heard another voice,

“What are you doing out here Chris” A man asked himAll content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.

“I thought I saw someone lurking here” Chris answered

“Have you been drinking again?” The other man said jokingly.

“Maybe” Chrish replied and they both laughed hard.

“C’mon man let us go inside,” The other man said, I heard the retreating footsteps and I was too elated to move, One minute I was afraid of being caught and the next minute the coast was clear again, This is one of the plenty reasons I needed to leave this place, I can’t keep living in fear, I needed to go back home, back to my comfortable home, Back to my loving family, With that thought I picked up my dress and put one foot into a whole and the other foot into another hole and one at a time I was already at the top of the fence

When I got to the top of the fence It registered in my head that I would have to jump down, I was scared, But my will to escape was greater than the fear, This jump was the only thing keeping me away from my freedom, I took and deep breath, Put my legs across the fence and jumped down, I heard a tearing sound and when I looked back I could see a piece of my night dress hanging in the fence, I checked to see if any part of my body was revealed but to my luck, it was just the bottom of my dress that ripped off.

I felt a sharp pain on my arm and I saw blood dripping down from my arm. I must have bruised it while climbing or coming down the fence. I tore a part of my nightdress and wrapped my hand with it to stop the bleeding. When I tried to walk I realized I was in pain. I sprained my ankle while I was jumping down.

The hurt was nothing compared to the freedom I was experiencing, I took a moment to breathe the air outside the mansion. I was so happy that I had forgotten about the pain, I leaped to the open road, The road was cold on my feet, I should’ve brought footwear, it was a cold night, The wind blew fiercely, and I was no longer forced to be confined by the walls of the mansion, I was free from seeing the monster that thought it was right to kidnap me, I was free and free from his shackles, I took a moment to bask in the moment.

I started leaping and hoping to find help that could take me away from here. My thoughts were interrupted by the glare of car headlights. Fear gripped me as the thought of Carson being in the car came to my mind. What if it wasn’t Carson but a kidnapper? The realization of the dangers I’ve opened myself to all in the name of escape dawned on me. I couldn’t help but panic. When the car approached closer, I prepared my mind for the worst to come. I moved to the corner of the road to avoid going head-on with the car.

As they approached, Panic ran through my body. The car got closer and sped away, Leaving dust to fill the air. I stood there relaxed but still very much uncomfortable with my vulnerability. The encounter reminded me of why I needed to be home as soon as possible. I kept leaping forward, Looking for a way to get home.

I leaped into the darkness, Eagerly looking for help, Rummaging around for a solution, I saw a light from afar, As it got closer I could see it was a car headlight, Another passing car, This time I should try to ask for help, I can’t be around these walls anymore, I didn’t have time to keep wasting here.

When the car approached where I was standing, I rushed to the car to ask for help. It was a man. He was a youthful man and He wore a casual outfit. He had a mustache.

“Hello sir,” I said in a panicking voice, Trying to maintain my cool

“Hey you look hurt, do you need help” He said calmly, Asking in the most polite way possible

“I do please, I need to get back home, could you drop me off?” I asked

“I should have been home by now but I’m sure I can help you, get in” He said while opening his car for me to get in, I know they say ‘stranger danger’ But I’m running out of options here, And it is dangerous to stand alone in the middle of night of nowhere.

I got in and I was sure not to become overly comfortable, I didn’t trust him but I needed his help. I was happy I was finally getting back home, Relief soon overshadowed the fear I had.

“You must be thirsty, drink some water” The kind driver offered

I was thirsty, I had been doing all these stunts and I hadn’t rested. I took the water from this hand and I drank it. After a few minutes I started feeling dizzy. It is surely because I haven’t had enough sleep.

“So where do you live?” The driver asked

“I live in Oak Streets,” I said while yawning and trying to fight off the sleep

“I’m familiar with that part, I will get you there in no time,” The driver said

“I appreciate you helping me, you’re a nice man” I said already resting my back on the seat of his car

“Don’t worry about it, we all need a helping hand sometimes” The driver said and smiled at me, That was the last thing I heard before I slept off in his car.
