Chapter 13- Amara
Chapter 13- Amara
“Demons? But why did they attack you?” Leo asked voicing my thoughts.
“Demons have always been trying to kill us. Well not exactly us but the spirit walker and the road to a
spirit walker is through the wolf spirits.” The Alpha explained plopping on the ground.
His companions also sat down. They looked exhausted.
“But why? There has to be some sort of reason.” Stanley said.
“Did you forgot what my mother said? The first spirit walker’s mate was a demon. He has been after
her since then but she is already dead so why now after so many years and your pack? There wasn’t
even anyone that was shifted.” I explained.
This is really concerning. What are these demons after?
“We were the pack that she first helped. Our ancestors were the first shifters.” The Alpha said looking
me straight the eyes. My mouth popped open. How can I forget such an important detail? “After we
defeated the Demons for the first time, there haven’t been any threats to us so none of the generation
since then had shifted yet. I snooped around a little and found out that other packs were destroyed too.
The other spirit wolves had vanished as their pack was gone. We were fortunate enough to have some
of the members alive but we lost our Alpha in the attack. This pack is the only one that hadn’t been
attacked yet and I am having a feeling that the attack here is going to be massive, now that they know
where the spirit walker is.”
Steven growled lowly in his throat and pulled me closer. Steven and his possessive ass. The spirit
wolves and the shifters growled aggressively. They don’t seem to like the idea of anyone laying their
hands on me as well. Well I don’t like that either. Those demons can keep their filthy claws to
themselves or their will be consequences.
“We want to help you with the attack too.” One of the boys said in a firm voice.
“How about we address this situation tomorrow when everyone is well rested?” I advised. Steven
looked at me in disbelief. He looked at me like I told everyone to dance naked around the fire. “Don’t
look at me like that Steven. Look around yourself. Those boys look like they haven’t eaten or rested
properly in a long time which is quite true, those spirit wolves have been traveling since forever and our
daughter looks to be on the verge of passing out. We will meet here tomorrow at midafternoon. We will
decide what actions to take from there.”
A switch of sorts must have clicked in Steven’s head as he looked towards Aria. She looked like she
straining to keep her eyes open but was failing at it miserably.
“She healed me Aunty Amy.” Xander said excitedly.
“No wonder she looks like that.” Steven grumbled.
“Are you okay now Xan?” I asked him.
“Yup.”
Aria had put almost all of her weight on Xander by now. She was practically splayed on him. My poor
baby. She must be feeling exhausted. Using spirit powers for the first time feels like shit.
“You three, pack your things. You are staying at our place.” I told the boys and turned towards the
Alpha. “Alpha, you and the rest of the pack can rest here. We will see you tomorrow and then we will
lay our plan out. Those filthy demons won’t be killing anyone else among us.”
I looked towards Aria to find her sleeping while standing and heavily leaning on Xander who didn’t look
bothered at all.
“Steven carry Aria home. She is almost asleep.”
Steven walked towards Aria to pick her up but she jerked back feeling his hands on her. She must be
feeling confused.
“It’s me Aria.” Steven said to her in a gentle voice.
She calmed down and he picked her up. She was completely relaxed in a mere second.
The boys came out with their duffle bags. They didn’t have had time to pick anything while running from
those demons. We would have to go shopping soon. Like very soon. They have been through a lot in
these past few days. They deserve a little relaxation. I can’t take their pain of losing their family away
but I will do anything to make them happy again.
“Bye guys. I guess I will see you tomorrow. Just be careful please.” I told the pack and Ryder, Xander Content © NôvelDrama.Org.
and the others.
“Do you think we should involve the kids?” Leo asked.
“Not yet. We will discuss that tomorrow.” I told him.
He nodded and they set off on their way. I motioned the boys to follow me as Steven walked in front of
me with Aria in his arms who was sleeping soundly.
“You know you can just run right?” I said to Steven.
“Not without you.” He answered simply.
He is going to be way over possessive from now on.
“So what are your names?” I asked the three figures walking behind me tentatively.
“I am Lucas Williams.” The boy who spoke earlier about helping said.
“Archer Taylor.” The curly haired one said quietly.
Not much of a fan of talking are we? Seriously that’s the first time I heard him talk.
